Picked this up immediately upon release.

Playing the top down Zelda like level in Super Mario 3D World, I couldn't help but want a top down Zelda game in glorius HD. Who knows, anything can happen. Naturally this should not be in the place of a full scale 3d title.

GTWarrior77 commented on Review: Super Mario 3D World (Wii U):

@ThomasBW84 - Thanks for answering my question regarding the pro controller.

It's funny, a lot people have been wanting more unique uses of the gamepad, but I am quite content to use only my pro controller wherever possible. Even during the Wii's lifespan, I longed for a more conventional control scheme.

Don't get me wrong, I'm still hyped for this game and by no means is the occasional mandatory use of the gamepad a deal breaker.

GTWarrior77 commented on Preview: Super Mario 3D World:

@NEXTGENRULE - No doubt mistakes were made with the launch of the Wii U but just remember, the PS4 isn't out yet. I hope for your sake (and mine) that the PS4's launch goes as well as you are anticipating.

As far as Mario 3D World is concerned, I'm very excited. It feels like I'm back in the 80's waiting for a new Mario game to launch.

No downloads for me this week. Just a fresh retail copy of Zelda Wind Waker HD. Should be a treat. Never played the original.

Lots of Zelda love this year. Also looking forward to Link Between Worlds.

GTWarrior77 commented on Soapbox: Why Grand Theft Auto V Isn't For Me:

I'm not a fan of GTA at all. I'm also in my 30's (36) and I don't have time for pointless violence, sex and bad language in games. Apparently these games are for the "mature" crowd. Nothing mature about that in my opinion.
Another issue is the multitude of kids who will be playing this. I can appreciate the game from a technical perspective, but the moral issues I have with this game overrides everything else.
Unless I'm playing a racing simulator, I don't want my games to be realistic. As Waveboy mentioned earlier, I like my games to be whimsical and colorful.
And above all, I must be able to play a game with a clear conscience.

GTWarrior77 commented on We're Getting Digital Right On 3DS And Wii U, ...:

As long as we don't have an account based system, I will not be making any major digital purchases. As long as I can get my hands on a physical copy of a game, I'll go with that. Maybe my arm can be twisted to take a gamble here and there, but there will be no major financial investment in digital content from my side until Nintendo has resolved this issue.
Once Nintendo removes this fear off losing all your content (and the hassle to transfer from one system to another), I do believe they will see the sales of digital content take off like never before. It absolutely baffles me why they haven't addressed this issue yet because it's a big one.

GTWarrior77 commented on IGN Editor: If Wii U Doesn't Pick Up, Nintendo...:

Talk about flogging a dead horse. The WiiU will be around for a good few years. If they change hardware too quickly, it can damage consumer confidence in the brand. Especially following the huge 3DS price cut not too long ago.

I'm confident that the Wii U will be in a different position by the end of 2014. As long as they continue to push out quality software backed by a strong marketing campaign. Nintendo did a pretty good job turning the 3DS around so, everybody must just relax.

I'm very interested in this and will definitely pick it up.
I never owned the wii version but borrowed it from a friend back when it was released, over a weekend and finished it (not 100%). It's a great game to say the least.
I'm also not bothered with the 3DS version, too small. This type of game is meant for the big screen imo.
Can't wait to pick this up.

GTWarrior77 commented on Talking Point: Looking Ahead to Nintendo's E3:

Let's face it, Nintendo needs to lift the veil on some incredible goodies. Lots of people are prophesying doom for the WiiU but I am not too bothered by that. Once some solid games are rolling out or are on the horizon, the machines will start flying of the shelves.

To touch on what Tom mentioned about a price drop, I will actually be surprised if that doesn't happen very soon.

I don't have much interest in the PS4 right now, and even less in the XboxOne.

The Nintendo games I'm looking forward to this E3 are Mario Kart, 3D Mario, Smash Bros, Retro's new offering, some 3DS love and some other surprises to spice things up.
I have a feeling this is going to be a good one. :) It's a good thing I'm working from home. :)

GTWarrior77 commented on Nintendo Won't Be Holding A Large-Scale Press ...:

I personally think a big E3 presentation is always a good thing. But with the world focused on E3 it is a good idea to promote Nintendo Direct. If you think about it, E3 happens once a year while Nintendo Direct is not limited in the same way. Nintendo Direct is also a far more effective way of delivering Nintendo news on an ongoing basis.

But for those who are not on the Nintendo bandwagon yet, E3 can be the platform to get those individuals on board. I say give the people both.

aahhhh, the orange G&W Donkiey Kong multi screen. This is where my gaming started back in 1984. I was in grade 1. I remember being sick in bed and my mom surprising me with a brand new one when she got home from the shops. Thanks Mom, you're the best.

GTWarrior77 commented on Sony: Wii U Offering "Something That Vita and...:

Nintendo customers can enjoy the full experience right out the box. Not all sony gamers will be able to benefit from their ps3 Vita combo and so some gamers will be left out. Nintendo gamers wil not have that problem.
In this day and age value for money is a strong driving force and if you throw Nintendo's excellent games into the mix, you've got a winner.

GTWarrior77 commented on New Super Mario Bros. 2 Will Cost £39.99 to D...:

Let me see if I can get this right Nintendo. With the download version there is no:
1. physical manufacturing ((cartridge + box)
2. No physical distribution to retailers
3. No profit mark up from retailers.

Yet we have to pay more for the download version. Because of this people will perceive this to be a rip-off. This is bad business. I think Nintendo is charging so much because they can. Surely they can charge less without shooting retailers in the foot. Even if it is just a little bit. Nintendo needs a financial boost but ripping people off is not the way to go. People want to know they are getting value for their money.
No matter how many millions they spend to make the game, the download version needs to be cheaper than the retail version.

And the best part is that the customer can never sell his/her downloaded game should they need to.

From a business point of view, it is unacceptable.

GTWarrior77 commented on Bigger Nintendo 3DS Console Revealed:

What I like about the new console is that it seems to be not as shiny as the current model. I wonder what the screen resolution will be like?

I don't understand why Nintendo haven't added a 2nd circle pad now. Naturally Nintendo has to make their money with this first before they release a dual analog model which is probably already designed. As someone stated earlier, I find the timing of the release of this 3DS interesting. Why do this a few months before the Wii U is released? For this reason I stand to believe that we will see a dual analog version in late 2013.

Personally I couldn't be bothered to buy this. I like my portable devices, well, to be portable. My current 3DS is the perfect size for what I need it to be.
