Funem commented on Sales for Dementium Remastered Have Been Much ...:

If they complain about lack of sales, why don't they make all their games available in more countries. I find it hard to feel sorry for them if I cant buy their games anyway. We still cant get Moon Chronicles in the UK as far as I am aware let alone the dementium remaster.

I'm loving the game as well. My simple test of if I like a game or not is if I find myself thinking about it when I am not playing it. This usually happens with puzzle games where the solution comes to you when you are doing something else, it can also happen when something about the game clicks with you, for me Steamworld Heist has great graphics as well as great gameplay so I just want to play it when I get free time. I buy a lot of games on a lot of platforms, you would be surprised how many initially look good then just fall by the wayside and I probably never think of them again. I can tell by this game already this isn't going to happen. Its a great piece of work and at a price that its a steal. I hope the game does well and will therefore encourage you to make another game in the series. SteamWorld Dig was great, Heist is fantastic, I cant imagine what the next will be like. Good luck with it, I hope it does well in sales numbers for you so we find you here again discussing the next game you are working on.

When I looked this morning it said £14.99 in the UK. Is this the correct price or will it have changed when I look again tonight. This is a good week for me as there are quite a few things I am looking to purchase and this is at the top of my list. I enjoyed the first game on multiple platforms so I have been looking forward to this since I heard about it. Pretty good reviews for this wherever I have looked.

@riChchestM I'm saying both are worth the money, whichever system you choose to buy them on. Xenoblade 3DS only works on the New 3DS range. Its one of a couple of games (A Japanese one as well I believe) that require the new bump in hardware spec require to run it.

@Ralek85
I got a few Steam games, Wolfenstein old blood and new order £13 for both on the Xbox One and a few games on Android and iOS. Was hoping for some Nintendo love but I either didn't think they were worth the money or had them already. Think I'll get Shovel Knight on the 3DS to compensate for the lack of purchases, I have been putting it off for to long anyway.

@riChchestM Xenoblade came out late 2011 on the Wii and was released on the 3DS about the same time as the updated 3DS console in 2015, and you need a New 3DS to run it. The game is basically the same game as the Wii version, with a hit to the graphics quality. Its a big game in a small package, both Wii and 3DS versions are definitely worth a purchase.

(hit reply while editing.........) Was going to say
Kid Icarus is £16.99 and Xenoblade is £23.99, which are the same as I have seen them in the shops. They should stay at that price digitally. Kid Icarus is another game that should have been in the Nintendo Select range.

I played this when it originally came out. It was a good game though I never finished it because I ended up wandering round in circles about mid to two thirds of the way through and never returned to it again.

@iaLgan I'm talking about PilotWings being £15 at best now. It should have become that when Nintendo put newer titles into the Nintendo Selects range. Its no longer a £39.99 title, its one of the first on the 3DS console back in 2011. You can buy it retail for £10-15. Not sure how you get Smash Bros being £5 using the same logic.

To be fair, they don't have to have a sale at all. I think the problem is not in the sale itself, more that the price of the digital copies of the retail versions in the eShop are far to high to start with, so even if they have a sale you can still get it cheaper retail. Pilotwings is a perfect example of this, its a £15 game at best, but its £39.99 on the eShop.

So who wants a guess at what's next for the last day of the deals ? For the 3DS I'm guessing Mario and Luigi Dream Team for £25 and Mario Sticker Stars for £25. They may think it will feed sales of the M&L sequel as it combines both elements. I'm not up with the WiiU so I wont guess.

Pilotwings is still £39.99 in the eShop. That has to be the biggest price joke there. I have never even seen it that high at retail. That should have gone to £15.99 with the others to boost the number of games in the Nintendo Selects range.

Kiby for £20 and I would have been sold as it would have been the same price I could get it retail, but I have been starting to buy digital recently. it's the only game so far on my wish list for the 3DS. Oh well.

They need to release N64 games on the 3DS. Even if they are only for the New 3DS as it has the extra stick controls. The remakes like Starfox and Zelda were great but they should do N64 games under the virtual console section, and GBA games whilst they are at it. I bought a New 3DS and transferred my GBA games from my original 3DS but there are still loads of great games they could add and I would re-buy, same for the N64.

Wish they would redo this for the 3DS, especially now the new 3ds has a second control stick. A straight port would be better than the DS version. They should bring more N64 games to the 3DS it's a waste not to.

eShop quality is way way down and retail carts are becoming few and far between or delayed by months. The 3DS is lacking momentum. My local game shop said that the spotty release dates of quality retail carts has hurt sales. Was looking foward to Animal crossing and Luigi but date slipped from the original.

Pricing.... Cut the rope on Google Play is 62p, on IOS it 69p on the 3DS its £4.50 that in a a complete rip off, that over a 600% increase in price. Either Nintendo charge to much to enable companies to sell via the eShop or they dont think there is any competition and can charge what they like. This is what you get for £5 on android (and most games like this are not that expensive) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Phosphor.Horn.Paid now compare

I really dispair at the eShop, they should be looking to expand. Full digital 3D movies, cheaper games, more original titles, competitive pricing. VC games are all well and good, but a lot of people have already experienced these games and want somthing that takes advantage of the shiny new hardware they purchased. When they do release something worth having the price is to high. Dont even get me started on the layout of the eShop, sometimes its guesswork to find out where a title is that you want. The whole eShop needs a re-think and some-one with a different attitude to look at the whole thing afresh.

Funem commented on New Super Mario Bros. 2 Will Cost £39.99 to D...:

Personally if I were in charge of the launch I would sell them at a discounted price from the eventual price for a limited time, probably match the retail box copy price. If you get people talking positive about it combined with them actually buying it, people may not think twice when you do sell at a higher price in future. The sales term is "Lost leaders", they could have had masses of positive publicity, from what I have read they are getting more people in the news comment on the high price...

Funem commented on New Super Mario Bros. 2 Will Cost £39.99 to D...:

The fact is no-one except Game sells it for full price, the average price for the game as far as I can see online is £29.99 if you think you should pay £10 extra for a digital download then you have far to much money. Supermarkets will be selling it for £29.99 - £34.99 of the ones I asked in today.

Nintendo make money on boxed sales, they do not take the whole profit from the sale of the game, the shop and the distributer take a cut. Nintendo could sell it for £29.99 and still make more money on the sale than the box copy would make them, coupled with the fact that the digital copy has no manufacturing costs (paper manual and plastic box) they would take an even bigger cut of the profit as they have effectivly cut out all the middle men.

I would bet that after the initial burst of people downloading the game for the novelty factor, these games will go down in price in the eshop.

Funem commented on Talking Point: DS Games Deserve Digital Distri...:

Why wait for GBA games first ? I would like some DS ones to be released, I am not to bothered about the GBA ones. Release both GBA and DS at the same time, maximize the choice and you will draw people to the eshop. Make them wait and you could lose potential interest. The only thing is not to charge full price as Nintendo seems to want to do.

Funem commented on Review: Kid Icarus: Uprising (3DS):

Having played this, circle pad+ support would have made it easier to play with comfort as you are not left with having to use the stand or have the console hanging in space getting aches in your hand. I would have preferred the option to use the two circle pads. the stand is a good idea, but hardly useful for gaming on the go.

Graphics, gameplay and sound are top notch, use of the 3D effects are also well done. Love the humour and references to itself as a game. This has to be one of the best games on the system and proving once again Nintendo know how to make good games for they own hardware.

Looks like a good game, nice review. I have an issue justifying £9 for the download, the £ to $ exchange rate makes it look like the UK are getting a rough deal. $9.99 is about £6.50, at that price I think its about right.

Funem commented on Review: 3DS Circle Pad Pro:

My Resident Evil came bundled with this on pre-order for £29.99 so in my eyes the circle pad came with it for free.

I tried the game with and without the extra pad and it playes much better with it.

There is the issue of the blocking of the cart and sylus access, else I would leave mine attached. The other downside is that if you have an extra case or shell over the 3DS then you have to keep removing the bottom half of the shell as its a very snug fit into the unit.

I bought it and I think it’s one of the best DSiWare games so far. Good presentation and animation and it has that just one more go factor that keeps you coming back. Well worth the 500 points IMHO
