I've never played any of these games, but I was reading on Wikipedia that Crystal Warriors and Shining Force are similar to Fire Emblem. Can anyone who's played them confirm this? Because if it's true, then I'll definitely be buying them. I can never get enough tactical RPGs in my life!

There's a good chance I'd certainly be willing to purchase one, but I think they'd need to base it on an existing OS such as Android similar to how Amazon has done with the Kindle.

Also, as others have said, it's a must for this to come with physical controls like the Xperia and not just have it as an attachment. If Nintendo ever were to make a phone, I know they would not make one that is based solely on touchscreen controls.

Man, this game looks gorgeous. I was enraptured watching that Nintendo Direct footage. Pikmin has always been a beautiful game, but the increased power and HD visuals will add so much to this. Also, the Gamepad will definitely give this more of an RTS feel if you want to play it that way. I'm looking forward to figure out what style suits me best.

Also, I hope multiplayer is nice and robust. That was one of my family's favorite past-times with Pikmin 2. Man, there's so much fun to be had with that.

@rjejr I agree about the cave levels. I'm playing through Pikmin 2 for the first time right now and those things really annoy me. Not just the darkness part of them, but also that I'm stuck with a certain amount of Pikmin til I either give up or finish it. I think they make for a good challenge, but I don't like that they take up so much of the game.

@BossBattles Yeah, when I heard the name Brittany I thought that was really odd and it seems like an out-dated name, honestly.
(I gotta say I love all the classical names they used in FE: Awakening, but I've been going through a lot of names in general here lately because of my wife being pregnant.)

After previously enjoying this series but then being quite disappointed with the last two games (especially Revelations), I'm cautiously optimistic about this game. It looks nice and I've heard a lot of good things from the devs, but I'm just severely disappointed how they took would could have been an amazing game in ACIII and instead it turned out to be just above par.

@theadrock13
No, I agree that the Wii U did feel rushed. (Day one upgrade anyone?) As much as I love my Wii U, I really feel like it is missing some things (like 1st party titles...)

I just don't feel that this is one of those areas that was rushed. I just personally feel that it is a lower priority feature. Sure it will be nice to have two Gamepads eventually, but I don't think it's what makes the system so special.

@theadrock13
To be honest, I think you're missing the point of the Wii U if you're so anxious to have two Wii U gamepads. Sure it could have its advantages, but the whole point is asymmetrical gameplay. You have four people using the TV to do one thing, while another person uses the gamepad to do something else.
On the Nintendo's previous systems, it was important to have multiple controllers to play multiplayer games, but on the Wii U that purpose is served by the Wii Remotes. The Wii U Gamepad is a separate beast altogether.

As for the actual support, obviously there would be a lot of logistical issues if they started providing support for two gamepads when no software existed that could use them. It is possible to sync another gamepad with the system easily (I've tried), but it disables the first one immediately. Essentially, you can only have one Gamepad connected to the Wii U currently because there is no use for more than one.

Man, I am so excited for this game, despite being let down by the delay. The exclusive skin for Barbara looks cool.
Anybody else notice that the baddies in some of those levels looked like they were wearing night-vision goggles similar to Sam Fisher's signature goggles? I think that's a cool nod.

Nice. I'm not familiar with this conference, but I think Nintendo needs to attend more of these events in other countries as well. I feel like they really need to get the word out about their console to encourage people to develop for it.

Definitely pick up Tekken, you guys. It's a blast.
I hope the Runner 2 sale comes over to NA as well. I love the Bit.Trip games and have been trying to decide if I want to add another game to my backlog. The sale would definitely push me over the edge!

@andreoni79
Well, used to we got 50 coins for registering a new Wii game, but last year they went through and changed the rate depending on the game. Still, I believe most retail games for the Wii U are 60 and most 3DS games are 30-40. Also, I don't know how NOE does things, but here we have the initial coins for registering it and then post-play surveys (as well as some for registering early) that give you 10 coins per game.

At any rate, you can go to the below link and click on "How Many Coins Will I Earn for Taking Surveys?" under "Product Registration & Surveys" to get a detailed description.

I have the Golden Pack and I must say I feel a little cheap using those maps to grind my characters and/or buy more crap. With the Golden Gaffe, you get a TON of gold! And since they're replayable as many times as you want, you can spam the levels. I know I've done that with the EXP one when I'm wanting to reclass a particular character.

FiveDigitLP commented on Satoru Iwata: Nintendo Has No Plans To Adopt C...:

It's obvious here that he is referring to live streaming (much like Netflix) of games when he says cloud gaming, NOT cloud storage. I think both are nice things, but the second is definitely a thing that needs to quickly become a must. MS and Sony have already retroactively added the feature to their systems. I think Nintendo needs to do the same.

As far as cloud gaming goes, though, I think it could potentially be the future. I've played some with OnLive, and though there is some lag at times, it's nothing game breaking. I generally appreciate the way Nintendo does things, I'm just afraid they're going to play it too safe like they did this past generation with HD. If cloud gaming is this generation's HD (and it wouldn't be surprising considering how much streaming of other media has caught on), then it could ruin Nintendo (business-wise) if they don't join on.

Man, those challenges were hard. The first several times I played the one where you had to catch 150 lums, I couldn't even complete it! I eventually realized that turning them purple nets your more in the end...

I must say, though, that I was a little disappointed you play as only Murfy in those two. Hopefully you can do the platforming segments in some of the later challenges.

I had my sister-in-law play with me on the challenges and I could play as Globox while she played as Murfy, but it seemed like it didn't count those towards my record...

Still, lots of fun to be had with it!

This reminds me of when we were kids. My parents bought a small TV from Sam's Club that we could stick in between the front seats in our mini-van and then we'd hook up our N64 (or later Gamecube) to it. It'd make the trips to visiting relatives fly by!
And similar to what @rjejr mentioned, we just used a standard cigarette lighter converter that allowed us to power our TV and console. Quite handy. Still, the nice thing about this device is that it's probably a bit cheaper and you save on some space since it plugs directly into the Wii U.

@Peach64
That's a really fascinating article...and it's certainly good that the FSA is looking into things to make sure no one gets screwed, but overall I feel that too often the government gets involved when it's really not necessary. Based on this specific scenario, it looks like it would cause more harm than good if it shut down the project...especially considering the backers wouldn't be able to get their money back, and then they'd be stuck without a complete game as well.

Also, just wanted to point out that Ian Bell actually responded there in the comments about a third of the way down. I really like what he had to say, especially since he mentioned they now have a full refund policy.

I've only played small portions of the last two Splinter Cell games (Double Agent was a huge disappointment on the Wii), so I'm really looking forward to this one. Hopefully it lives up to the hype they're trying to give us. The original trilogy was definitely ground-breaking.

@DerpSandwich
It might just have to do with copyright issues for everyone that was involved in the project.

I have a friend who is in a band and they produced a CD together, but some members left before they were able to release it. There were a lot of issues trying to get the music released because the previous members had a lot of trouble agreeing on how much of a cut they should receive.

Though ZREO is obviously not releasing it for a price, there still may be issues with some people not giving permission to release it through official outlets.

Man, this is so sad to hear. Twilight Symphony was the first music I'd listened to by them (I keep meaning to download the others), but it is definitely amazing! I backed them when they were producing it and received a digital copy as a result. It's some fantastic music and I HIGHLY recommend it.

Yes! I'm finally getting that Mario shirt I've been debating on getting. I was thinking about it the other day, but decided to wait...and now I'm glad I did!

Also, to anyone who's wondering, those reversible pouches are pretty cool. I have a red one and use it all the time to carry my 3DS.

Wow. There's a lot of great stuff coming out! It's hard to believe it's already almost time to download the next Wii U VC game! I haven't really played the others much because they're not my style, but for 30 cents, why not pick them up?
I'm mainly holding out for Super Metroid as I never got around to playing it on the SNES.

This is kind of an obvious thing. The video was never supposed to be released to the public. Based on what I've heard, I'm guessing it was a preview video for the team working on the game to demonstrate to the higher-ups. So they were just demonstrating the possibilities and some things they were considering.

Man, I'm really getting burnt out on this. I was a huge fan of the series, but it has gone downhill as of late starting with Revelations. I think Ubisoft really needs to give these more time to cook and not just throw them out every year. And I'm not just talking about development time either.

I was just so hyped for AC3, but it turned out to be fairly low-quality. The pacing of the story seemed off and the number of bugs were atrocious! I could barely watch a cutscene with out either laughing or doing a face palm due to things being so out of sync.

Also, Pirates?! Really? That seems like such an easy cash-in. And yet they were saying they didn't want to do feudal Japan because it didn't fit...

@SilverLightning
Haha. Yeah, she does! She kept reminding me of someone, but I couldn't figure out who!

OT: I'm definitely intrigued by this short demo. The style has me interested. The art direction is cool. It has a comic book feeling with the way the text looks, but it's not over-the-top in that aspect like some games I've seen (though that's not necessarily a bad thing).
