Its a bit sad actually that Microsoft choose to focus on such a trivial use of what is in fact a pretty cool hardware setup for interactive entertainment. If only they can find good ways to use this in games, and I do not mean only in casual games for the family but also as an element in so called hardcore gamers games. I can already think of a couple of ways to use this technology in a lot more exciting ways than changing channels on the tv, that be giving orders to characters on screen or even simple gestures in strategy type games to move large units and stuff, or like in 'the world ends with you' where you shout in the mic to do some special attack only with more specific commands. And this is only conventional use, I guess game developers can find lots of lots of neat ways to use this technology that will give us more exciting ways to play and enjoy our games. (I can actually picture myself enjoying telling Lightning to paradigme shift in FFXIII or Serah to put on some other clothes.)
I don't think that all the "you are the controller" bs actually is the way to go as it usually involves a lot of stupid waving about and that gets old pretty quickly, but more subtle use of the kinect camera, like little touches here and there and there should be a lot of sci-fi ways to use it too.
....you catch my drift. I believe Microsoft can fix this they only need the right ideas and the right people and the Xbox One could really be a contender in the next generation, if they on the other hand keep focusing on the 'fantasy football' and channel surfing stuff, well it might bomb everywhere but America.
I have 32 gb in my 3ds and plan to fill it with obscure titles from the eshop, it will probably take a while. Also I like to have a bunch of demos to test out once in a while. For the Vita I only have a 4gb card due to the prices and Atelier Totori took care of that space....
And from what you people play (and enjoy) I can tell that Fire Emblem Awakening and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is a must buy for me in the future. They are really that good huh.
Another weekend, another couple of floors in Etrian Odyssey II. Forza Motorsport 2 when I hit the wall (or shoud I say FOE) too hard and need to recuperate.
@rjejr thats not actually such a bad idea! I think maybe somewhere down the line nintendo will more or less merge their console/handhelds. And it will be awesome. When you have a powerful home console "hub" from which you stream games to some handheld tablet/gameboy via the internet....
Its so nice to see all three of these games coming out both in EU and US. Gives me some hope that we will someday get all of the Legend Of Heroes games translated and released too.
I don't think this console generation will be the last at all, the question is more about if there are room for three similar devices in the marked in the future. I do not really see the need for the ps4 and the 720 and if Nintendo should also try to compete there would be three almost identical devices out there, that would just be too much I think. Just look at the ps3/360, I have both and besides a handful of exclusives they are more or less providing the exact same experience to me, its actually pretty stupid. And then you have the android based game/media center consoles coming out this year (Ouya). I think its time for Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo to merge, and just make one super console, that way game devs don't have to split their teams and cost porting games everywhere. Yes I know monopoly can be a bad thing, but this time it will be good.
Imagine the possibilities.
Holy c%&ยค you people play at lot of games on the weekends. Thats cool. I'm on Etrian Odyssey II duty, and when that gets to much I'll relax with some Forza II on the xbox360.
I'm playing through the Yakuza series and are now on number 3, and boy these games really have a lot of stuff to do if you are so inclined (which it seems I am). Will probably be a couple of weekends more before I can move on to number 4.
