FineLerv commented on Sony Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshid...:

It's hard not to get infringement warnings on MiiVerse, especially since there is a "report infringement" system. I think gamers in general are overly sensitive about spoilers; Rather than just avoid communities to prevent possible spoilers, they'll continue to interact in the spoiler-ridden forums and get annoyed when someone ruins something for them.

@Mew2king Thanks for taking the time to be interviewed and to jump on the site to reply to a few comments. As a totally non-competitive Smash player I was thoroughly entertained.

Apologies for any self-entitled, ungrateful commenters who struggle to interact socially with others. (Aren't we all?)

@element187 "indies are the only developers (besides Nintendo) that are experimenting. All the other platform holders and publishers keep releasing the same exact games with zero new gameplay mechanics, just prettier graphics and no interesting new ways to play...."

Totally agree with you there. I'm so bored of reskinned shooting galleries. I'm about 5 hours into the Last of Us and I don't feel compelled to go back in. Instead I kept returning to Knytt Underground. I'll get through the Last of Us eventually but I'm certainly not waking up everyday excited to play it.

Toki Tori 2 was better than the first game, even before they added "Captain Obvious" mode. It was a game about a childlike sense of discovery and revelation - A rare find in the abundance of handholding that plagues modern gaming.

FineLerv commented on Pure Chess DLC Will Be Available Day One, And ...:

@Damo "The price of the game is very cheap compared to other Wii U eShop releases, and the DLC is entirely optional. How is this a rip-off? Even with all of the content, you're only looking at just over £12 - which is what many eShop games cost anyway."

People have an inflated sense of self-entitlement. I personally see this pricing scheme as a "pay what you want" model and it baffles me how people are complaining about an optional purchase that is purely cosmetic and in no way enhances the experience of the product.

I buy this kind of stuff just to send a few extra bucks towards an Indie developer. This is not the same as a COD map pack.

FineLerv commented on Video: The Top 20 Wii U Games So Far - Part Two:

What an awesome list! I'm very pleased with my Wii U so far and eagerly anticipate seeing how the library grows from here. Like many, I'm ecstatic to see the Wonderful 101 make the top 10. Can't wait for the Digital/VC lists!

FineLerv commented on Review: BLOK DROP U (Wii U eShop):

At that price this is a purchase that doesn't need consideration. A 1-man team makes a cool puzzler with Atari-style graphics and charges next to nothing for it? Sold!

When people are so vocally dissatisfied with business decisions coming from the 3rd party giants regarding the Wii U they had better be willing to shut up and throw a bone to the little guy who actually needs their support. Or do people just have an inflated sense of entitlement?

FineLerv commented on NES-Style Action Title Insanity's Blade Is Cut...:

@AcesHigh73 "You said it mister! I'm a huge fan of the indie gaming scene, and if Nintendo continue their current trend of supporting talented indie outfits with even half the commitment and passion that Sony appear demonstrate on a seemingly daily basis — particularly on Vita — I'll be one very, VERY happy Wii U owner indeed..."

I think half the battle comes from Nintendo, the other half is from the userbase. I'm constantly trying to push my favourite standout Indie titles on the MiiVerse but if nobody is buying them then Nintendo's efforts can only go so far.

That's a great wishlist you got there! What are some of your personal picks that are currently on the e-shop right now, though?

FineLerv commented on GBA Titles Super Mario Ball And Pac-Man Collec...:

@unrandomsam "The only reasonable explanation I can think of is they don't want the VC competing with eshop indie games so they deliberately are holding it back."

Never thought about it like that but now it makes sense. They know a lot of people are going to buy a 20 year old game that they've played before over a new Indie game (many of which are some of the best games I've played in years). :(
