@WarioFan63 I know, there are licensing issues to deal with, etc, but they should at have three games per week. Not too little and not too many. TG16...wasn't a big fan personally, but I bet that a mob of angry people with torches will show up at my front door having saying that :D

Next week does look better, I'll give them that.

@SCAR392 Buying my games on eBay....nope.jpg. Even the upgraded games (the transferred ones from Wii to Wii U versions) are very reasonable.

@ChrisT99 You can lie about your age...just saying. But don't take my word for it, or get your parents' credit card info without their consent. That works well, and without consequences, right?

@LindsayPez "What? We want sales, right men? Let's show them what we're made of by not releasing decent games!" That is their battle cry, to spite customers by releasing paltry amounts. One to two is pathetic, but the line must be drawn, even three to four would be enough. Next week looks good though, Super Metroid, Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Ghouls N' Ghosts from Capcom. So I can almost have faith in NOA.

I found the true form of NOA's CEO, now everything makes sense :D

@biglittlejake I know what their stance is, I don't see the logic in their VC release process, it's convoluted and half a**ed to say the least. I'm not telling people to rely on illicit means, I'm not suggesting that at all. But with the way Nintendo does their schedule, it's hard not to be upset. Two games per week are not going to cut it.

@bizcuthammer They're the master trolls. Okay, granted, ROMs have to be tested, injected into the emulators, and renewed for licensing. HOWEVER, given the fact they announced this back in January, the fact that they have released 10 games (four of which are a part of the .30 promotion), that means only six games have been released. Wow, just wow. It that isn't abysmally asinine, I don't know what is. Nintendo of Europe and Nintendo of Japan get a real selection (and they get gasp more than two games!), but NOA, we get nothing.

NOA's VC team, sod off.

@SCAR392 It's still not true HD, even when Wii games are scaled. They're only outputted to match the TV resolution, but they never exceed the 256 x 244 resolution. Wii games are the same deal, the resolution is still limited to 640 x 480, but the TV scales it to match the 720 or 1080 resolution. The games are locked at their native resolution. The SNES games look clearer because the pixels are scaled to match and have no color bleeding that CRTs have. They were never meant to be played >480p.

They could at least make 480p signal swapping when VC games launch and then go back to 720/1080 when you close it. Lazy programmers.

@SCAR392 They're clearer, but that doesn't make them better. On an emulator for the PC for example, they look clearer and better. They're unfiltered, if the VC is meant to be nostalgic, they need to have the CRT look they did in the 90s. My complaint makes perfect sense, I don't know what was so confusing about it.

NES games are at 144 x 160 - 160p scaled to 720/1080
Snes games are 256 x 244 - 240p scaled to 720/1080

Digital or not, it is not how it should look. They look fine on the game pad, but not on an HDTV, unless I changed to 480p, but then what's the point in having an HD Console?

I'd be more than happy to take screenshots to show how Snes SHOULD look

@SCAR392 They don't have to re-license their own games. I can see licensing issues for some games, but their own franchises? I doubt it. That's no excuse to release two games that have been released before and overpriced mind you.

I can't stand the games on my HDTV, they're not filtered, but look perfect on the game pad since they're not scaled to high heaven. Scaling Snes games from a 240p to a 720p is a big mistake without a bilinear filter. NES games are filtered, but Snes games are not. I don't see why they coded a filter for NES games, but not for Snes. It isn't that hard to implement.

Why can't both original Nintendo and Super Nintendo games be filtered on the HDTV and game pad? I can only imagine how bad GBA games will look without a filter.

The fact they can't release more than two of their own licensing issue-free games is pathetic

Looks at VC releases this week...yay......

@MadAussieBloke

That's a matter of opinion; it might as well have been nothing. Eight games for Japan and Europe? That's not regionally-biased at all, no siree

@SilentHunter382

I don't know about that. I sent a complaint to their customer support thought. That can be done here http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/webform/

@MrSRArter

This wasn't a bad week for paltry releases? Boy, I'd hate to see whenever there's a bad one!

Note, piracy != theft

Theft is the act of stealing something where said object is lost whereas piracy is the unauthorized copy; nevertheless, piracy is still illegal, but it is not theft.

The digital copy still exists, but illicit copies are being made, that's the difference between piracy and theft. Theft = item is gone, piracy = item is there but being copied.

If the releases are like this throughout the entire lifespan of the Wii U....never mind, can't talk about that here. Disregard ;)

I'm wary about supporting them through the Virtual Console; don't get me wrong, I want to be supportive, but if the list is only going be three/four per week...yeah, that's gonna go well.

@Hodn Then why did I see numerous people on facebook telling me "it's not there"? I guess it wouldn't hurt to check. Here's to hoping a better selection next week...just saying. But I will upgrade Super Mario World. Looks better on the game pad than on newer TVs.
