Donatello commented on Nintendo's Upcoming U.S. Release Schedule Gets...:

Not suprised, Nintendo always announces a big year with Big hits that are close together regarding their release dates, yet there is ALWAYS a delay. It's fine with me though, because i can wait alittle longer for Metroid: Other M. Besides we're getting Galaxy 2 in a month :D While Sin and Punishment 2 is hitting in June

Looks fantastic! But I'm very dissapointed by the Storyline...It's the same freaking stuff yet again, save the princess from Bowser. Couldn't they of done something alittle different this time around? I'll say it again, I wan't Wart to escape the DreamWorld with his minions and be the higher Power over Bowser who is a mear puppet in his game :D

Donatello commented on Classic Controller Pro Now On Sale in North Am...:

If only you could remove the damn handles. Because that aside, this controller is better than the original CC because of the L and R button placement and because they're 'clickly' instead of squishy which I've probably mentioned a million times by now. It's also nice how the Analog sticks are spaced out a bit further for those who get their thumbs crammed together.

Ugh, if it had handles i would so buy them and get rid of my other Classic controllers. :(

The music in MM4 is alright, but like the reviewer says it's a bit grating. The charge shot also sounds annoying, and the Robot Masters health bar drowns out the boss theme for a few seconds which is just akward.lol

As far as music goes in the MM Nes franchise, MM2 and MM9 are the greatest handsdown.

I wasn't complaining about the Color for the Anniversary collection, as it's perfect...I was saying that the games looks slightly softer and the SFX and Music sounded flat and tingy...And to many the A and B swap is a big deal. It doesn't feel right for MM plain and simple. As far as poor color goes, I was talking about VC Nes games.

@DiggerandIndy
You seriously thought MM10 was easier than MM9? Yikes, I found it to be the exact opposite. The Robot masters in MM10 are alot tougher...Not to mention the levels themselves are as well if you ask me...And facing off against Nitro, Solar and Blade man kicked my ass many times when I was using just my pea shooter.

Anyways, MM9 was tougher for me when it came to Wily's Castle and the final fight with Dr. Wily which was a big pain in the ass during his 3rd form....MM10's was a letdown in comparison :p

I've always wondered....why in the hell does the Robot Master Health bar charger SFX makes the Boss theme come to a complete akward stop in MM4?....Who's bone head decision was that? Anyways, the Boss theme itself is one of the best MM Boss themes there is

Donatello commented on Review: Mega Man 4 (Virtual Console / NES):

@Crunc
If you plan on getting the Anniversary Collection, don't get the Gamecube version...I noticed the music and SFX didn't sound right. It had this odd echoey flat tingyness to it, as if the SFX slightly drowned out the music. Also, the emulations look slightly softer compared to clear and crisp Mega Man games on the VC. And finally, the B and A button swap was a horrible idea. Not only does it make playing MM feek akward, but it also makes Jumping and shooting not as quick because of it. The B and A swap alone was a deal breaker for me, and was to many.

If the PS2 or Xbox version have the same problems regarding the SFX and softer graphics I'd stay clear of them as well. The only downside to playing Mega Man 1-4 on the VC, is that the color emulation is darker and less colorful(like every NES VC game), as to why you should crank the color, contrast and brightness up a bit on one of your TV modes just for it :P

Personally, I say get the Mega Man games on the VC....Sure the color emulation isn't right, but you can adjust the PQ to your liking and get somewhat close to what it should look like through component connection. AND you get to use the Wii Remote sideways 'Nes Style' which is THEE' way to play, and cearly beats the crap out of using a crappy PS2, Xbox or GCN Controller....I could never imagine playing ANY MM or Retro SideScroller with those controllers, it's just not right :p

@Link79
Agreed. MM6 is easily the worst....I honestly can't remember one tune from that uninspired, rushed, bland and boring piece of mega poop. Plant man's stage was the only decent thing about it. Being a MM fan, I won't even allow it to be in my collection

And I may be one of the few, but I was never crazy about MM3 either.

Mega Man 4 > Mega Man 3

But, I gotta say...I was never a big fan of the charge shot....It just seems so overpowering and not satisfying to use. And It's annoying how in MM4-MM6 that you have to use it on certain enemies

Donatello commented on Review: Mega Man 4 (Virtual Console / NES):

I agree with Pixel man and Dragoon, MM3's stage design for the most part 'was' unappealing. Needle, Hard, Top, Gemeni and Magnet Man's stages were awful, boring and ugly to look at imo. It didn't help either that most of the robot masters lacked variety and were 'Blue' on the Boss select Screen. I really do have a love it/like it relationship with MM3, The best thing about MM3 was Shadow and Snake man's stages.
As far as the music goes, it was a letdown...Yet I always found myself humming Spark man's tune.

Dare I say it, I even slightly prefer MM1 over MM3...But that may be due to crazy nostalgia and the fact that it was the first MM game I ever played and overall I just loved the hell out of it, it was amazing at it's time. And You gotta love Bomb man's theme :D It's still a great game, yet alittle rough around the edges. Also, playing it now it's actually one of the easiest MM games, I'm still curious as to why people say it's one of the toughest....MM10 and MM9 were much harder.

No, MM9 easily kicks MM10's butt, there's no comparison. I was dissapointed after beating it...But it's still a good game, but MM9 kills it in every single way.

Donatello commented on Review: Mega Man 4 (Virtual Console / NES):

It's still better than MM5 and MM6(especially)
With me, growing up I've always been devided on MM3 and MM4...In ways I prefer MM4 because of the more colorful and vibrant stages, and seriously, MM3 had some of thee' worse robot masters. Snake, Spark and Shadow may of been great, but the rest were awful. Hard man and Needle man especially.

MM4 does have a few bland stages, Skull, Pharoa, Dust and Drill come to mind, the rest are solid. And music wise, Dr. Kosacks Stage 2 theme, and the Boss theme are fantastic. MM4 is underrated if you ask me, while MM3 is a tad' overrated. MM2 and MM9 are the shniz and nothing hasn't topped them for me thus far :D MM10 is right up there as well, I even prefered it over 3.

This is how I see it regarding the Nes MM games....But i seriously need to play MM5 and MM6 again, it's been a while, but even back then I wasn't a big fan of those 2. They lacked the Mega Man spirit, regarding the Music and overall feel. MM6 especially was so bloody bland and uninspired it was sickening...It easily had the worst set of robot masters, level design and music of the franchise. Although I dug Plant man's stage. But i do have fond memories of playing and beating MM5 and my best friends house back in the day, and there was some good to be had in it, even if it did lack that Mega Man feel. I really liked Gyro man's stage along with Gravity man's

MM1 - 7/10
MM2 - 10/10
MM3 - 7/10
MM4 - 7/10
MM5 - 6/10
MM6- 5/10
MM9 - 10/10
MM10 - 8/10

@Tornado Man

MM5 is definitly in the bottom 3 :p
2 and 9 Are the greatest. 3 and 10 are good, while 4 and 1 are decent. Yet MM1 holds a strong place in my heart as it was the first MM game ever played. I still haven't played MM7 yet, and it's been a while since I played MM8, although in my tween years I remember enjoying it, yet the music and voice overs were just awful. And for the millionth time, i need to play my copy of MM and Bass, I've only played the intro stage along with Cold man's level. :p

Mega Man 6 is easily the worst. MM4 had it's moments, but overall it was just decent for me. 7/10 is what I'm talking about. Dive, Ring, Toad and Bright man's stages were pretty good, But i can't say the same for the rest, which were bland, boring and dull.

But all of that aside, I will be getting it once hits the VC :D

Donatello commented on Mega Man 10 DLC Round-up Part One:

I'm passing on Punk's and Ballades stages when they're available. Since they look to be just as uninspired, dull, ugly, boring and whipped together in a matter of minutes like Enker's stage was. I'm more interested in fighting those 2 Mega Man Killers, but that's it.

But i gotta say, both Enker's and Punks themes are fantastic :D
And again, i wasn't crazy over Bass mode, it was overall just decent. Playing as Mega Man and Proto Man were much more fun and challenging

Donatello commented on Mega Man 10 DLC Round-up Part One:

Playing as Bass feels like you're cheating and is nowhere near as fun as playing as Mega man or Proto Man since he also feels over powered. And Enker's stage is mediocre yet challenging. The best thing about all of this is facing against Enker himself. Since he's unique and his theme song is freakin Epic :D

Donatello commented on Monster Hunter 3 Team Helped Design Classic Co...:

Of course it's still available, and thank god because i'm not a fan of Controller handles. I like it retro, like the Nes and SNES controllers, which is why the original Classic Controller is awesome to me. If only Nintendo made it Wireless and made the L and R buttons Clicky instead of Squishy than I'd be a happy panda :D

@Bakajin I completely forget about mentioning the awesomeness of Wario being introduced in Super Mario Land 2. His Castle was also the greatest thing about SML2, and it was challenging and pretty tricky!

But the rest of the game....bluh. Overall SML2 was decent at best. SML on the otherhand kills it :D

Donatello commented on Review: Super Mario Sunshine (GameCube):

This is the only Mario title I havent really played(an Hour or so only back in the GCN days)or have cared for. but after watching several Youtube video's it indeed does look fantastic and such an amazing scope regarding level designs and the worlds ect. I need to nab myself a copy from eBay :D

Anyways, the only Mario Platformer that ever let me down was Super Mario Land 2 for the GameBoy.....Bland uninspired boring level designs, random enemies and next to zero challenge, i had a much better time with the quirky and more challenging first Super Mario Land. The only good thing to come out of SML 2 was the carrot/rabbit ears and SMB3 Inspired World Map.

I'm loving it....And as much as I love the Metroid Prime franchise, thank god we never got a MP4(save that for the Wii2), because Metroid is in need of alittle change for now, which is what we're getting.

aka, a Super Metroid/Metroid Prime hybrid and splash of Team Ninja goodness :D

But it's hard to enjoy any game or see it til' the end, at least for me anyways due to getting eye strain

Will be buying, once it goes down in price. I can live with the weak Combat, because by the looks of it everything else makes up for it. Besides Resident Evil Remake and Zero's combat was dated and wasn't anything amazing, yet i had a great time with both games.

Donatello commented on Sony: 3D Handheld Gaming Might Not Work:

Blah blah blah, more ridiculous predictions made by Sony....I love how they said 'Rumble' was so last gen, and how Motion controls were a gimmick...Sony and MS are just sheep waiting to see what Nintendo does next so they can copy and try to make it better.

I can't take Sony or MS seriously....Nintendo Innovates, while the other 2 talk smack and copy.

And Honestly Nintendo knows what they're doing, the 3D tech for the 3DS will be amazing, i can imagine playing a new Super Mario Bros game with depth to the clouds, background, enemies ect ect.

Donatello commented on DS Successor To Offer 3D Gaming:

I love how many people are always skeptic and so negative towards something Innovative Nintendo plans on releasing, yet when it arrives and people get to try it for themselves they're blown away. Your little pre-thoughts and opinions don't matter whatsoever, it's coming and it will most likely be amazing, after all this is Nintendo now.

But I'm sure everybody whill shut their big mouths when hands-on impressions, screenshots and video footage is released, better yet when they actually experience it for themselves.
