@Azooooz "..I ,as a gamer, shouldn't care about it.."

Even if the complete failure of the WiiU ensures Nintendo's departure from making home consoles? (i think is likely, tbh)

QoL will be Iwata's next big, wasted focus.. so get ready for even less games to play than the pitiful amount you're getting currently.

Hell no... Downloads are preferable to me, but i'd never touch a region-locked, account-less device of theirs if it was limited to eShop. That's when Nintendo and i will part ways.

Nice. I'd say that's a fairly accurate depiction.

I don't really think this was a dig at the 'over-reliance on its core franchises'. It looks more to do with how the series itself has followed the same old, tired formula and hardly progressed.

@Tobias95 Maybe to show how the games gradually became more dumbed down and forced, since Iwata became CEO? - all a part of his lame vision to excessively appeal to non-gamers, thus gain more sales.

Doma commented on Nintendo To Market Mario Kart 8 Through The En...:

Mario Kart is such a stale series by now... Regular people will see no reason to purchase a new console for a game they see readily available on much cheaper hardware (Wii, 3DS). Fanboys will, but they most likely own a WiiU already.

Simply isn’t worth it once you realise that Nintendo revealed the entire future library of this console during last year's January Direct. No price above £120 (maybe a bit higher for this bundle) would justify the investment for such a paltry number of releases.

@outburst I think it's been established that Nintendo has lowered the price in NA only, while blatantly ripping off everybody else. Just ignore this game.

I haven't touched a single piece of DLC (or any paid downloads) from Nintendo because of how overpriced and inferior their service is. That won't be changing any time soon.

@Yorumi There's nothing ironic about the inferiority of Nintendo's set-up compared to how their competition has been doing it for many years.

I don't bother comparing physical to download games. I'll always prefer the latter where the option is a viable alternative. However, when they're overpriced (their games cost more than they do physically, here in the UK) and hardware locked on Nintendo systems, it squanders any advantage they may have over physical copies. The eShop is a very poor excuse of a download store.

@KennyPowers I know what he was referring to, but it doesn't matter. The example still matches his quote.

Meh, call me whenever Nintendo decide to stop being morons and provide us with proper accounts. Their download platform can't be taken seriously until then.

Enjoy your milking, fanboys!

@WiiULoveGBA Also with that particular quote - "And one thing Nintendo has determined as a company policy, what we are not going to do is create a full game and then say, ‘let's hold this back for DLC.' That's not our plan.”

The game itself was held back for a year, in-order to implement some cash grab DLC for it. So actually, it's the perfect example.

Doma commented on Poll: Have Your Say on Nintendo Direct Bonanza...:

The Sakurai Direct has been the only one worth watching since their inception, to me.There's so much negligible/boring info given in the usual Directs, that it would be better given as standard press announcements (which should be regular, instead of keeping people in the dark constantly).

Nintendo Direct should be scrapped. I usually just wait for the round-ups anyway because i can't stand watching anything hosted by Iwata or Reggie.

Doma commented on Vita Overtakes 3DS in Tough Week for Japanese ...:

@wombatkidd The PS2 still received WAY more third party titles (non-shovelware) than the GC or Xbox. So comparing its support to the Wii's influx of garbage is quite silly of you.

Also, to that last question: How about every GTA game (and plenty of EA stuff from what i remember).

@minotaurgamer You should know that 'fanboys' are cultists who love and praise Nintendo, no matter what. Any disregard to the WiiU being a perfect system will initiate anger within these folk, you see many examples of such behaviour on this website... They can't be the ones responsible for “hating on the atrocious Wii U”, lol.

Doma commented on Nintendo Titles Struggle for a Presence in UK ...:

@Excep7ional Within the coming years, i think Nintendo will gradually edge themselves for departure of the console market (it's likely what this 'QoL' stuff entails). Sadly, i don't think this will lead them into making games for Sony... They'll probably stick with handhelds for another gen, but other than that, nada.

Nintendo's relevancy in gaming is set for death, thanks to Iwata's 'we are unable to compete/meet today's standards' mentality.

I don't think i'll ever understand the desire of people trying to imagine/re-enact their own life via a videogame.. it honestly disturbs me (unless you're a child).

This is possibly the most stupid and unhealthy genre in gaming.

Doma commented on Rumour: Mario Golf: World Tour To Offer Additi...:

@LunaticPandora Any rational person will notice that it's too soon to be promoting 'additional paid courses' when the game has yet to be released. I already doubt the base game will be worth its £30+ retail price tag (i'm guessing it will match your description of MK7...). So yes, advertising this to me now has devalued it.

I'm proud of the fact i haven't bought a Mario related game since 2011 (Smash Bros. will end this period, but that has everything to do with it containing other IP). I'm doing my part, but it seems the majority of Nintendo's fanbase enjoy playing the same crap over and over...

What i expect:

  • Some actual info on the game modes, unique features etc.
  • a couple new character announcements.

What i don't expect:

  • A release date (they'll just say something vague i.e. 'Autumn/Winter')
  • Any details regarding online.

Anyhow, i'll be waiting for the aftermath unless it isn't hosted by that dullard, Iwata.

Good thing it's just Smash related, btw. Screw Mario Kart!
