@R-Moss I wouldn't go that far... but i don't think it's a great FE when compared to the best of the series (FE GBA and PoR imo). It's still good but, certain mechanics/elements in the game make it really feel toned down. Stuff like; being able to travel the map freely, pairing up (AND dual striking), shops availability, random weapon pick-ups etc. It's making this game a lot easier than it should be.

I'm up to chapter 8 so far, on classic/hard and it doesn't seem to actually be that challenging at all thanks to those combined features. Story wise it hasn't been that impressive either, but i'll wait and see before i judge that.

Don't buy the DLC, people! you won't be able to live with yourself LOL.

Seriously though, most of the DLC doesn't look all that worth it to me. After playing the first, free map i immediately felt that it was kinda pointless and only serves to make the game too easy.

Doma commented on Nintendo Won't Be Holding A Large-Scale Press ...:

Really lame thing to do from their perspective... to admit defeat and say “Hey, we won't be able to compete for people's attention anyway, so why bother?”.

Not that i care, mind you. Nintendo's past 2 E3 events were extremely tedious to watch, barely had anything new/interesting to show off, despite the fans all thinking they'd “bring it for sure this time!”, ha. This year they were probably planning to showcase Wii Fit as the majority focus anyway. I think for as long as Iwata's in charge, they'll always be desperate to try and appeal to casuals at the foremost.

Other announcements wise, this sucks because it probably means they don't have anything left. This year i was at least hoping for a new 3DS Metroid/Star Fox/new IP, but what do they announce instead? A massive flood of Mario games and same-old rehashes ( the Zelda and Pokemon do interest me, but still..). My interest in the Wii U couldn't be any lower.

@Five-seveN The only AC i've played was GC. From what i can tell, very little has changed about the game since then despite having regular entries. I get why people like the game but, i doubt there'd be much incentive for me to play it without those cool hidden NES gems. It just gets boring after a short while.

DKCR is awesome indeed. My low interest is due to owning it already. Wish it was a new game.

Just don't buy anything from Nintendo digitally, the only way to get them to even acknowledge this as an issue. I'm way ahead of most of you guys, by boycotting their DD service since the beginning (pricing is the other obvious cause for that). Old news.

I'll admit that in the past, i used to constantly reset when something didn't go to my liking. Many hrs were wasted... I honestly don't have the time for that kind of BS nowadays.

I've played through enough FEs now to know what's up, so i'll start with Classic – Hard, no resetting. If they die, so be it. I don't like the idea of playing casual at all. Without the challenge/satisfaction, these games just wouldn't be as enjoyable.

Got mine yesterday.. want to play it now but, i made the foolish mistake of buying Devil Survivor 2 on DS, only a week before. Luckily i'm nearly done with it.

@RetroGBHippie92 Buy. It.

@Peach64 For how much? i do truly hate Game, but the pre-order bonus forced me to use them. The book's quality is very decent, so no regrets.

@Einherjar You yourself should prefer these games to be released on PS3 instead. Just think, what's the likelihood of it being localized for the west on an ailing console? even slimmer than usual. I'm sure you must realize Europe is often ignored when it comes to such games, so at least with PS3 you can import the game when/if they ever decide to.

Doma commented on Cliff Bleszinski Likens The Wii To A "Virus":

@GreenDream Isn't really moot since i was comparing home consoles, but you're right about MS at least. Their exclusive offerings are non-existent, it'd be impossible to argue otherwise lol.

The Wii isn’t best for exclusives though, PS3 is. Nintendo have steadily phased out most of their franchise i care about. They play it too safe, rarely straying from Mario/Zelda (Mario is stale and overused, Zelda's have been dropping in quality since Windwaker). The lack of new IPs is pretty lame too.

As for PC, i usually stick with older, unique titles (and DRM-free) since mine is rather low-end. It isn't worth upgrading just for gaming, consoles suit me just fine. There are plenty of good games that never make it to PC aswell.

I was more or less a N fanboy until owning a Wii. Their huge shift in target audience was enough to slap some sense into me. It had a few great games, but imo, that didn't make up for the incredible mass of low quality, cash-grab software produced for it (Nintendo's own output included!). There's a much better game variety on the PS360, this is fact.

@Exile20 What a wonderful list!
Listed twice: Tales of Symphonia, Xenoblade Chronicles (Monado doesn't exist)

Never released outside JP: Dragon Quest X, Tales of Graces (not on the Wii anyway..)

A mobile phone port - Final Fantasy IV The After Years
NOT even JRPGs - Zelda games.

"Many more" huh?.. not likely.

Doma commented on Talking Point: Nintendo Should Make EA Co-oper...:

I have little use for a 'secondary home console', the idea of having/needing a complementary one is just silly imo. You'd be more invested in one or the other, no? One will inevitably gather dust and waste space while you focus your time on the other that caters to your tastes better/provides steady releases with third-party support.

As things are, either the Wii U or the PS4 will be bought by me early next year (my PS3 will easily last me until then, great games are still coming), i won't have the time for both. Whichever fails to impress enough by then will be rejected until the end of the generation, when i can then pick up that console/missed must-haves for dirt-cheap (..it's getting pretty likely that the Wii U will suffer this fate). This is the smarter course of action, wouldn't you agree?

I will regret nothing by doing so.

Needs to happen soon. Advance 2 was such an awesome game, almost too perfect. I hoped for a long time that we'd get an entry comparable to that one, but with a new cast and storyline...

Dual Strike was good apart from the butchered balance and carbon-copy storyline. Dark Conflict wasn't much, the gameplay changes were rather poor and unnecessary imo. Also the huge cut back on non-campaign content annoyed me.

@AbeVigoda On your first playthrough? i've never done that, but do find the dialogue in all except the 2nd to be pretty dull though.

@QuickSilver88 No... keep it to portables only pls. It's more suited.

@Araknie I think people should actually look up the original's control scheme before deciding it's unnecessary. Dual sticks had nothing to do with the camera.

Dunno if i'll ever buy this, LM wasn't too exciting to me the first time round. The lack of demo isn't helping their cause.

@Five-seveN Every FE i’ve played has allowed you to save via 3 or more slots, you can easily revert back to a previous chapter/mission if you wanted. Stop looking for dumb excuses to try and rip on the game, man... if it doesn't interest you, just move on.

Doma commented on Epic Games Rules Out Unreal Engine 4 For Wii U:

@DarkCoolEdge Well, now it's official. WiiU is the new generations Wii :(

Yep... and looking at my Wii library, that also ensures i won't be buying one for a very long time.

Btw, i found some interesting quotes from Iwata regarding third party support:

"Nintendo tends to release too many titles at the launch of a hardware system and as a result suffers a drop in new games for quite some time after launch, and for the Wii U launch, we are being very careful not to let it happen,"
"Fortunately, third-party publishers overseas are launching many titles for us this time, and we were able to push back the release of some of the titles that we had originally intended to release as launch titles until next year."

That's pretty embarrassing after witnessing the reality, lol.. Nintendo are in dire need of new leadership.

Well that's pretty obvious, no?
Yeah, maybe he should've waited for that Soul Sacrifice game...

I mostly agree with his points. Although, dual screens can be useful sometimes, depends on the type of game really. 3D is a terrible gimmick, i'd wager that a tiny fraction of the userbase even bothers with it.
GBA micro, best handheld? Nope, you'd need the hands of a baby and a telescope to even operate one. I'm more fond of the GBA's library for sure though.

@Funny_Moblin The only ones who decide to outright and moronically ignore the CPP regardless of benefit, are Nintendo's devs. Most third-parties haven’t been that stupid.
