DF2506 commented on Iwata Braves Press Conference to Explain Ninte...:

I only have a 3DS and Wii U. No plans to buy a PS4 or Xbox1. I've lost faith in Sony & Microsoft. They keep putting out the same ol' same ol' consoles over & over. Better graphics, same gameplay. Nintendo, on the other hand, is trying something different with both the 3DS & Wii U. I like both systems a lot. I wish more gamers would see how awesome the Wii U is. Love the gamepad. Enjoying it a lot.

I hope Nintendo doesn't get rid of Iwata. I like him. As far as going software only: if Nintendo ever did that, i'd stop buying their games. I love Nintendo software AND hardware (they do a great job of developing both imo). I don't own a cellphone or tablet. I don't want one either. And I have no plans to buy those other systems coming out. I think Nintendo can and WILL turn things around with the Wii U. Its taking awhile but Smash & Mario Kart will help.

I wish I hadn't bought Toki Tori 2. I bought it when it came out, at full price, because it looked good & there was a promise of a level editor update. Now I'm stuck on the game AND there will be no level editor. What a waste of money. Two Tribes are not getting anymore of my money.

DF2506 commented on Animal Crossing: New Leaf Turns Over Some New ...:

@Prof_Clayton, the City isn't in the middle of your town, its across the train tracks. So, instead of taking a bus to the "city" you can just walk there (so its a seperate area from your town, same with the island & the streetpass place). Much cooler imo. I like that there are more shops. The City in City Folk was a big disappointment to me. Not enough to do there. That won't be a problem this time.

The regular town will have your animals, R parkers (a recycle shop), and a couple of other buildings (Cafe', maybe lost in found) if you choose to build them in your town. And you can put some stuff, like benches, wells, etc in your town if you want, but you don't have too.

Animal Crossing is all about choice. In fact, what shops you have in the City seem to be up to you too. So if you want a small city, you can have that. Some buildings like the Dream House are only opened by doing certain things. It seems like some people will have different "cities" depending on what they do with their town, how much they spend in the city, etc. If you just want to fish & bug hunt and not worry about the mayor stuff or expanding your city you can do that.

Personally, I'm going to do all the mayor stuff, put things in my town, try to make my city/mall as big as I can, and just have fun with the game. Its going to be the best Animal Crossing yet! :)

LOVE THE NEW TITLE! The English footage looks great. :)

For those wondering, yes you will be able to have more than one character in your town. A Japanese AC map showed more than one human house. Plus, from what I've heard, the first human character is the mayor, others are residents. :)

I knew Animal Crossing: City Folk wouldn't make this list. Disappointed in that. House of Dead makes the list but not Animal Crossing? :(

Personally City Folk is my number 1 game for Wii. Its not perfect BUT I'm still playing the game unlike any other Wii games. Lots of replay w/ Crossing.

I knew it wouldn't be #1 for a list like this but imo, it should be somewhere in the top 20.

I guess I'm bored of life because there's nothing there I want. $29.99 for Crosswords? lol! Ditto Art Academy. Both those of those should be cheaper. Dr. Mario? Have it! Cave Story? How many times are we supposed to buy it? Samurai G? Bleck. And Style Savvy demo? ugh. No interest in Pokemon. Mario DLC? Nah.

Its a lot of stuff but its not impressive in terms of quality. Wake me when they put the GBA games up. lol. (seems like that was another rumor...)

DF2506 commented on E3 2012: Nintendo's 3DS Software Showcase Live:

Nintendo games always come at almost the same time as they do in Japan anymore. So IF Animal Crossing is coming in Japan this year, its coming here & Europe too. But it doesn't look like it is, unless Nintendo just decided to leave the title for an upcoming Nintendo Direct this month or next...

But it all seems unlikely. Just VERY unhappy with the whole thing.

I needed that Lego Batman 2 demo. Punching lego stuff & punching/throwing Robin around helped. Fun demo. I'll be playing it more (too bad we didn't get to see any of the other characters).

Also the new special visitor was nice too.

But these are very small consolation prizes. Brief smile and then I remember they didn't even TALK about AC3DS. They could have pu the logo up there with the other logos at least!!

And whats really worrying is this: every E3 since its been announced we've gotten a trailer of Animal Crossing. Its not been at the show, ever, but at least we got a VIDEO on the Eshop of it. This year....NOTHING. Its very worrying and makes me extremely unhappy.

If they had given us an eShop video to drool over at least.... sigh

My interest in E3 is officially dead.

There won't be a 3DS XI yet. Nintendo already said (a few times) that it wouldn't happen. Next year though...

Anyway, I'm not going to put out anymore predications. I already said what I want. As long as I get that, don't care what else they do. Well, it would be nice if its some exciting stuff, but as long as they mention that one game (animalcrossing3ds)...well...you know. :)

firearrow, its a game you have to play to believe that its fun. If I explain it, you might just go "hmm" but its a VERY addictive Sim game. Really love the series. And Animal Crossing fans have been waiting FOREVER AND A DAY for this new title finally get a release date....

I just want AC3DS out of this. If they give that, i'll be VERY happy. If not....sigh Then I'll wonder why I even bothered with this E3...

DF2506 commented on Talking Point: A Big Year for Nintendo:

I'm still not sure about the Wii U. Don't get me wrong: I want Nintendo to sell a TON of the Wii U at launch. I hope it does great. But as for myself, I doubt I'll get one at launch. There's really only two games that WOULD 100% get me to want one at launch, neither one will happen: Animal Crossing or Earthbound. AC3DS is coming out soon, so there won't be one for Wii U at launch. And Earthbound, lol, doesn't seem like we'll ever see a new one of those...

So its very unlikely that I'll buy one at launch. Unless, of course, they show it off at E3 and really WOW me with the system. And you know, I really hope they do. I'd love to be Wowed by Nintendo again. It would be awesome. I do, really, want to see it at E3 and go " Ok, I gotta pre-order me one of those" and then as soon as they have it for pre-order, put some money down on one and keep paying on it.

I'd love that. But I don't know if that'll happen.

Still, sooner or later, I'll get a Wii U. Just cause I'm sure they'll do an Animal Crossing Wii U. Ya, it'll be awhile, but it'll happen. Well, unless the Wii U does amazingly bad and...sigh Not going to even say it. Hoping for the best!

Can't wait! drools over new pics My family & me were really happy about this news. Sure, we were hoping for the game SOONER (and not happy about the New Mario Bros. 2 news...), but FINALLY getting news about this, plus pics is great. And now we have an idea of when its coming.

It'll be anywhere from September to November. Hmm.

I'm hoping for September, but thinking that it might be November because A) November is the 4th anniversary of City Folk and B) the new City Folk DLC set is all delivered by October (Nintendo releasing it June through Oct)...so AC3DS could be out after that...

Hoping so much that they don't do that though! I want it in September! So does the rest of my family & all of my Animal Crossing friends. We are all in "can't wait mode" lol.

DF2506 commented on Reaction: Nintendo Direct - Nintendo Joins the...:

@KoMiCtUrTlE. In September...IF WE'RE LUCKY! Crossing games usually come out about November, so...that seems more likely. SIGH

So unhappy with Nintendo at the moment. Yesterday's Nintendo Direct was awful. Especially Nintendo of America's which was only 11 mintues compared to the hours worth that Japan got. But overall, it was just a bust. Telling us, mostly, about games we already knew were coming & confirming the Mario Tennis rumor.

Every time there's a Nintendo Direct I keep thinking "Animal Crossing 3DS" and every time I'm disappointed. And its not just me. My entire family is waiting for it and all of my online Animal Crossing City Folk friends. Plus tons of other people. I think Nintendo just thinks people like Mario & Zelda and thats it! Sure, I like Mario & Zelda, but I'd like to some different games too! And Kid Icarus isn't going to cut it on the different range. Not everybody wants that type of gameplay.

If that conference yesterday was all about going up against Vita than Nintendo failed. Sony has nothing to worry about.

DF2506 commented on Reggie Also Presenting Nintendo Direct Tomorrow:

@shinobi88. Best case scenario indeed. If only that was a great solution for everybody, but personally, I can't afford to own a 3DS AND a VITA. Can't afford to buy games I don't want either. I have to be really select about what I buy and when. Most of the time I have to trade in games I really like so that I can get other games I want. Not a lot of money to get all "buy whatever I want-y".

And, at the moment, all the games I REALLY want are on the 3DS (specially Animal Crossing 3DS). Not saying none of the Vita games interest me. Some of them look cool, just can't afford a Vita and the $250/300 price tag isn't helping. You would have thought they'd learn something from seeing what happened with the 3DS at $250...

Anyway, I'm not one of these fans that hopes the Vita fails. I actually hope it does good. But personally I'm sticking with the 3DS. Well, unless someone wants to give me a Vita for free or something (lol!).

Oh and I'm really hoping for Animal Crossing 3DS news! Come on Nintendo, put me out of my misery already! GIVE ME THE NEWS I WANT. sigh Here's hoping..

DF2506 commented on Round Table: Looking Ahead to Nintendo in 2012:

" James Newton: I only need Animal Crossing and then I can go on with my life much more happily."

Amen to that. :)

" Dave Frear: Yes, yes I am. I'm especially looking forward to Kid Icarus and I don't know why as I've never liked the previous games."

Kid Icarus looks interesting, but I have no plans at all to buy it. Would be nice to play a demo though.

" I'm a bit worried about Animal Crossing, I'm sure there will be some good new features but then it will be only ever-so-slightly-different and I'll be disappointed. Again."

Wow. I've heard this ALOT here & on other sites. I guess its from people that either A) Were burned by City Folk being too much like Wild World or B) People that don't understand Crossing at all.

As a Crossing fan, ya, I'll admit that City Folk wasn't perfect. Its still, imo, the best Animal Crossing because of its online features, but yes, there is so much more they could have done with it. You can see that, things like the City, were rushed so that Nintendo could get the game out. Still, a really fun game.

Now, the thing about Animal Crossing is that (much like a Mario game), there are things like fishing, bug hunting, talking to the animals/doing favors for them, collecting fossils, paintings: that HAVE to be in Crossing or its not Animal Crossing. That said, the new game looks to add features that are MORE than just ever so slight changes. Like what you ask?

Being Mayor/adding stuff to your town is a a MAJOR step forward for the series. Previously, if you wanted to add outdoor furninture to your town you'd have to be a HACKER. The new game is giving the player, without hacking, the ablity to add benches, street lamps, wells, and more!

Plus the game is adding customizable furniture, the ablity to change pants and shoes, and an improved City thats much closer to your town.

And I'm sure there's stuff that Nintendo hasn't shown us yet. So I believe that the game will be much improved from previous entries. Will it totally radically different from the previous games? Most likely not. Sure it'll have a much of great new features, but its still Animal Crossing. It'll still have the feel of a Crossing game, much like, no matter how you "change" a Mario game, its still a Mario game. Same with Zelda.

So if you not a fan of this type of game, than the new one prob won't convince you. But if you really love Animal Crossing or love sim games, I think you are in for a treat. I could be wrong, sure, maybe the features won't be as mind-blowing as I think. Will I be disappointed? Sure, a little, but I'm looking forward to the game a ton. I'm sure, no matter what, I'll have hours upon hours of fun with the game. Can't wait!

Oh and Paper Mario is another big one I'm looking forward to. Not as much as Animal Crossing, but quite a bit. Big fan of the series. This one looks great. WIsh Nintendo would announce dates for these two games already. lol.

Great article guys! :)

My votes:

Wii: Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (GREAT game!)
3DS: Mario Kart 7. Ok, so I don't have it yet. I'm getting it for Christmas. But it looks AMAZING and I can't wait to play it! :)
DS: Plants VS. Zombies. Love it.
Wiiware: Voted for FAST, but only because I liked the demo. It was really a bad year for Wiiware games...
Eshop: Pushmo! After awesome game from Intelligent Systems. Can't wait to see what Paper Mario looks like on the 3DS!
DSiware: Legend of Zelda: Four Swords! FREE and a VERY good game.
Overall: Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. The best Zelda game EVER and thats saying a lot. Skyward Sword, from start to finish, is such a fantastic game.

And you know what, I have a feeling next year is going to be even better for games (3DS, Wii U, and maybe for the Wii too).

Oh and I'm very happy about all the changes. I would say this a MAJOR step foward for AC (and not a minor one like the article above suggests). Well, I guess I'm eating crow tonight. lol. I didn't believe that Nintendo would announce a console this year at all. I'm still not sure if we should believe most of the rumors that have surfaced though. No friend codes? Seems doubtful since they are still using them on the 3DS. But, then again, I didn't believe this new console was real so I guess anything is possible. Though, I would doubt this system is coming out this year. I think it would be very stupid of Nintendo if it is. I can't imagine the 3DS AND the new console both selling well, especially if the new console is as high as rumors suggest. We are in a recession after all. I doubt people can afford both the 3DS and the this new console. Here's hoping that the system isn't coming out till next year. I need time to save my pennies. lol.
