I think this is common though. the exclusives are enough to justify a console purchase for me, but they're released so far apart that if I want to keep gaming withing the droughts I have to buy another console. I have the 3DS which keeps me busy during these months and I'm looking to buy a ps4 to get the games I want that aren't coming to wii u

it is what it says: it's nintendo direct to you. they feel a lot more personal than e3 conferences in my opinion and I'm more hyped for this than the sony/microsoft stuff simply because over the year there have been some really great nintendo directs

I blame gamestop for a lot of why they did this. for several years a lot of their used games were only like five dollars less than new games, and that practice had made them a load of money. I've made it a mission of mine to just not shop there anymore because their business plan was ludicrous, and while they've shaped up a bit, they've done more than enough damage to things that they've made the used game community look like cheap wallet grabbing pirates and the market look like it's circulating millions of dollars unpaid to the devs every two seconds

which it is for freaking gamestop but not at any other honest shop that has the decency to mark a used game down by 40 bucks. I just hope the xbox one doesn't gain momentum.

I'm just glad capcom decided to use the 3ds as a platform for MH3U and allowed the audience for the game to expand in the west with nintendo. and it was successful enough to get MH4 exclusively on the system too.

also the games announced really didn't capture my interest you know, so while I wait for a game that does what the heck am I going to do with the xbox one? watch a lot of tv according to the presentation...which defeats the purpose of it being a game system if I'm not playing it >.>

crazyj2312 commented on Microsoft: If You're Backwards Compatible, You...:

I like backwards compatibility for its convenience. With handheld games especially since I still feel like playing old games but I don't want to lug around more than one system with me (and if the VC could get some GBA games then lord have mercy I'll be set). With home consoles it's pretty great too since you don't have to keep changing the systems you're playing on if you want to play a last gen game and you can give away that old system for some new junk

and while I guess you could say digital downloads of old titles can compensate, it's usually done with the company trying to get you paying for a game you already own. which I wouldn't mind if it was a long since out of print game from like 10 years ago, which is why I don't mind forking over a few bucks for ps1 classics or gamboy color games on VC but when it's a game like AC3 which came out not too long ago I'd be a bit peeved if the only way I could play it on my new system was via a digital download I had to pay for.

I'm not sure if MS is going to charge much for digital 360 titles you already own but who knows

crazyj2312 commented on Talking Point: Nintendo's Digital Pricing:

I like the option of downloading full games because sometimes a game store isn't within distance. And game stores run out of stock and even stop selling certain games after a while, but you can't run out of digital. I don't mind paying full price if it means I don't have to run around town looking for the retail copy I was going to drop 40 bucks on anyway.

crazyj2312 commented on Reggie Fils-Aime: Fanbase Demands Are 'Insatia...:

I think Nintendo is doing a good job. I mean, they are selling to multiple audiences. I know, to some people, it seems like Nintendo is "their" company, that whatever Nintendo sells is directed towards them. But that's not the case; there really isn't a need to feel threatened and misunderstood when Nintendo releases a new Wii Fit. They have other people to cater to.

crazyj2312 commented on Wii U Power Lacks a 'Generational Leap':

I don't think the Wii U will trail too far. I don't think there's going to be as huge a gap as the PS2 is to the PS3. I don't see how far the graphics can go from where the are now so I think the PS4 will be more of a PS3.5 and the Wii U would be like the PS3

crazyj2312 commented on E3 2012: Nintendo's 3DS Software Showcase Live:

The reason I didn't like it was because everything they showed, we kind of already knew about. They made it seem like they were going to reveal some all important stuff, since the conference was stand alone. But all it was was a very tiny bit of info on things we've already seen and a reel of third party games that looked very unappealing (to me). Personally, I was hoping they would hint at something like an update or something but not even that.

I just put the system in the base of my left palm and hold the system in that hand, using the stylus with my right. I personally don't have a problem with the controls but that's just me.
As far as dual analog controls, I think it could work, but the sensitivity of the circle pad would have to be way up to get the kind of accuracy you get using the stylus.

crazyj2312 commented on Iwata Defends Identical Digital and Retail Prices:

He just doesn't want people to feel ripped off when buying the product, providing the option but no exclusive benefits. Someone may have internet but no store nearby, or may have a store nearby and no internet. They'll both be be getting a fair deal, in the eyes of Iwata.

crazyj2312 commented on Nintendo Still Envisions Selling Retail Games ...:

I'd like to buy a few games if they come at a cheaper price. Like if the retail was $40 and the download was $25-30 I'd be all for it. While I wouldn't be able to trade the games back in, I'd have the satisfaction that I can always redownload it should anything happen to the data.

crazyj2312 commented on Talking Point: What New Super Mario Bros. 2 Me...:

I still think they're just giving 3DS owners more than one option when they want a Mario game. Several people were complaining about 3D Land's low difficulty (including myself; I was able to get all the star coins within two weeks lol) so maybe this will raise the level of challenge.

But if not, they're still giving a decent list to choose from: a side scrolling game, a 3D game, a kart game, a tennis game, an rpg and luigi's mansion. I don't think they expect people to buy every one, just the ones they find interesting. They aren't marketing to the same exact group of people every time they release a game.

crazyj2312 commented on Nintendo Reveals New Super Mario Bros. 2 for 3DS:

I can't wait. I like the idea of putting a lot of Mario on the system. I don't think they expect everyone to buy every single game; I think they just want people to buy the ones that interests them the most, offering a decent variety in many genres. Kart, Tennis, 3D platforming, 2D sidescrolling, RPG and Virtual Console are all options.

crazyj2312 commented on Talking Point: Is Wii U's Power Really That Im...:

The Wii was ok, but nobody developed for it. I'm not saying good games didn't come out, just that Bioshock, Assasin's Creed, Batman Arkham Asylum/City and many other third party titles were on the other systems because the Wii couldn't handle them. I think graphics capability matters a bit.

crazyj2312 commented on Feature: The Mistakes of the 3DS Launch:

@kyuubikid213 I guess a lot of people felt the drop was just too drastic and too soon. And not everyone feels that old games are worthwhile compensation. Playing old games is alright with me but in all honesty if they gave me 50 dollars worth of credit to buy games in the eShop, I would have been happier since I'd at least have some options.

crazyj2312 commented on Nintendo Rejects The Binding of Isaac:

I guess Nintendo knows that games like this + American moms = controversy. It never occurs to most adults who find M rated games offensive that you can simply avoid these mature games, Though popular, they're never the only games to play. But some people fighting against it believe that if they just didn't exist, it would be better.

OPINION: I don't think The Binding of Issac would have been appealing to many who own the system anyway. It seems it'd be much easier to avoid controversy altogether rather than publish it, fight off the mass of crazy parents and only make a small amount of sales from those who really want it.

It doesn't make sense at first and seems like Nintendo isn't being wise, but I think they made the right call. The only reason there's no uproar now is because it's on Steam and most parents don't even know it exists. If it was on a Nintendo system, a well known platform, not only Nintendo but McMillen would be under fire.
