I personally thought this game looked pretty epic, Retro won't disappoint, trust me. This is honestly the first negative impression I've read so far, so I'll take it with a grain of salt, DKCR doesn't seem to be the author's cup of tea, and that's fine. I gave Velocity Ultra three out of five stars on the website I write for, and that gets rave reviews elsewhere.

Most I know don't PC game as relaxing on the couch after a hard days work is much better on the body than sitting in a computer chair staring at a smaller screen from up close. It's why you see games like Arkham City selling 10x the amount it sells on consoles.

The pack shot Warner Bros. supplied us has the DLC sticker on the Wii U edition, and EB Games are advertising that the DLC is available for Wii U preorders.

A lot of times people will buy a game when it comes out or gets cheaper. Used games is the only way I can go back and pick up some old PS3 games not being made anymore.

Microsoft is essentially ignoring these people unless they plan to have every game on XBLA, then in that case is 500GB truly enough space?

Why would they market it as "This game crashes randomly so here's a RAM upgrade!"?

Overall the game would have run smoother in the end using it anyway.

The 360 couldn't emulate all Xbox games properly, anyway. There's more to it than what he's saying, but why pour tonnes of resources into something they don't believe their fan base will use anyway?

Nintendo see it as a selling point, and most people I know utilise the feature, so it makes sense for the Wii U to do it.

I liked the 4th gen comment, I never realised EA were into making games for the PSX, N64 and Saturn.

If you went out and got professional media experience before just recording yourself playing games, then by all means go out and earn money for it, a site, magazine or whatever will hire you. Heck, make a website around your work and earn money from it.

Recording yourself playing a video game and uploading to youtube to earn a living is rubbish.

Like the more rational people here, it's only one factor.

However, the fact they're not selling any of their Wii U games in Australia except Skylanders and Call of Duty is alarming to say the least.

So why are these games even listed? The Guardian can't even get its facts straight.

When you put your mouse over half of the games it comes up with the fact there's no weapons in the game, including Mario Kart.

@Evergreen: It's funny, because one reason they don't release them all at once in order to keep the service "evergreen". ie it keeps people interested, meaning more money for them.

Second reason is that they simply can't create emulators for every single game in such a short amount of time (they don't use the same emulator for all NES games, as such)

@Crouteru: I played Balloon Fight and Punch-Out!! on the gamepad last night, the screen is a perfect size for playing NES games, that's for sure. Creating restore points in these tough games will be a welcome addition for newcomers, too.

I put this game on yesterday with my family, it caused my partner to get obsessed and forget the Biggest Loser was on, I consider that a win

rarest things I own are a Virtual Boy (not THAT rare), Zelda Collector's Edition for Gamecube (both of them) and Nintendo World Cup/Super Mario Bros./Tetris 3-in-1 (which I got for $2AUD)

TJ Lutz told me in an interview they wanted to get it out on as many platforms as possible (when I asked him about handhelds) so this is no surprise

Nice to know Ubisoft giving you almost half the game and adding 30 levels to Rayman Legends doesn't appease some.

I'll be getting it, because having spoken to TJ Lutz myself, he's a very genuine person, and a lot of work's been done to create a game that no two people will ever have the same experience playing.

You would hope game-specific channels keep going, such as the Mario Kart Channel, as they can still be played on the Wii U.

Anything Sony Computer Entertainment and Microsoft Studios (not the companies as a whole, just their gaming wing) release, and have the ability to cut down Nintendo's sales are in Nintendo's market, whether Nintendo like it or not.

Nintendo have stated that they make a profit after selling one game

Dropping the price in order to boost sales shouldn't lose them a lot of money in the long run.

The ratio of people who own the 3DS and Wii U in Australia, to having those systems actually online is pretty paltry, and even less when you factor people actually buying something from the eShops.

On the Wii U eShop, you CAN create a new account and base it in Europe, that's how I got Mighty Switch Force anyway.

I don't think Nintendo got "mad", they simply regard Bowser as a particular type of individual.

Though I honestly don't know how else he'd hold it, unless it was a giant novelty mug, then I'm glad they changed it.

With all that EPIC talk it's probably Gears of War Kart or something :/

Actually I think some people liked the idea so much they couldn't wait to get the Wii U and share news with their friends online. These people are limited, true, but people buy PS3s because they have trophies or 360's because they have achievements.

@Five-seveN: While Rogue Squadron is technically a LucasArts title, it was made by Factor 5. All future Star Wars games will be done by 3rd party, so it's not all doom and gloom if all you're worried about is bad Star Wars games.

I doubt the VC releases will go anytime soon, Disney's owned the rights to them for months now, they might go when the license to have them up ends and Disney will probably re-release them in some other way.

What I'd like to see is Disney giving TellTale the rights to an episodic video game version of the Clone Wars, in order to finish it properly.

@DePapier: They could have also asked other website writers for assistance too over the past week, I don't think a game needs to get a higher score because you need to ask friends for help, in some cases that can lower the score depending on the game.

I was always a visitor of VC-Reviews and WiiWare world, always a massive fan of them both.
Once Nintendo Life came into play, they took me under their wing as a contributor for a good while, which I very much appreciate to this very day

I do wonder how much it costs to port games that already exist. Selling 10,000 copies wouldn't be a massive ask if the game was AAA and they sold it as a GOTY edition.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution seems to be getting a lot of support from what I've seen on my Twitter feed, so it could actually be a success.

Nintendo can afford to put their games out at launch, because they're still going to sell a few years from now with system sells.
