@3Dangerous3Dash - they could have just not used a screen at all, just a piece of plastic where the screen would go. It would have cost almost nothing, it wouldn't have used the battery at all, and it would have been just as useful as the screen that they did use!

The GBA screen lights were ugly, but they were necessary. Why did Nintendo put such a dim, useless screen in the GBA?

@truewiimaster - Playing a demo is "trying before you buy.". And, I don't know where you shop, but the stores where I shop don't let me return a disc game if I don't like it.

I don't think that Nintendo should restrict the developers from releasing their own sales data. The Icon Games guy has a good point - it would be very difficult to put together a business plan for potential investors without sales data.
However, Icon games did choose to enter into the contract. If companies don't like the terms of the contract, they should have decided not to work with Nintendo. Eventually Nintendo would figure out that no one will work with them, hopefully that would convince Nintendo to improve things.

I had trouble with the sound being way too quiet on ign and g4tv. Joystiq's sound is louder, so try that if you're having issues.

@stuffgamer1 - I feel the same way about Wiiware games. I hate taking a chance on a $10 game. At least with a disc game, I can sell it if I hate it and get some or all of my money back.
I'll be downloading this demo. I skipped Soccer Bashi, but maybe I'll grab that demo too, while I have the shop open.

@rjejr: The RotG is three levels. I can't remember their names, but it was the green drunk guy, the ram-like guy, and the Sea Witch. I didn't struggle too much with the green drunk or the ram.
The Sea Witch was more challenging. I think it took me about 3 tries just to beat her, and then another couple of tries to improve my rank to A. I really enjoyed the demo, but I'm concerned about the difficulty. Did you find that it really ramped up after the Sea Witch?

I played through the Lit demo tonight. I thought that it was good, not great. I'll keep it on my list of Wiiware games to buy, but Art of Balance and Max and the Magic Marker are higher priorities for me.

chiwii commented on Reggie Defends High Download, Retail Price Point:
Reggie can think whatever he wants about the App store pricing, but it's not going to change. I don't think Nintendo is going to win this battle by just continuing to charge double for the same games.

This game looks great! Thanks for the excellent review. I was planning to get a VC game with the 500 points I have, but I think I'll get this instead.

@JimLad - I totally agree! Even if the controls had worked properly during the presentation, it still would have just been a boring "tech demo."
They could have done a lot more to hype up this game. Instead, we get to see that the plants open horizontally or vertically, and you have to swing your sword in a corresponding fashion to kill them. Oh, and you can swing your sword around in a circle to confuse the eye on the door. Not too exciting.
