Unfortunately, I feel as others on here, that the first Bayonetta was entertaining from a superficial perspective, like my anime remarks, where it's simply there to be visually appealing, but lacking any depth whatsoever. I'd play it if it were given to me, but at first glance, it seems the same. Certainly not a reason to buy a Wii U. Believe me, I want to support Nintendo, but they missed the mark with me personally, who has owned just about every console back to the Intellivision. After gaming for so long, I tend to shrug off games that lack any depth as they bore me. That's just my personal preferences, but it would seem I'm not alone.

I just don't like kids and indie games and Japanimation anymore, and no longer have interest in Nintendo. I grew up with NES. It was, ... was, great. Then at some point, they started to fall behind. You can't be a front runner and be a generation behind in hardware capabilities. It just doesn't work. I've had that generation, now I want something new, better, different. Nintendo differentiated with the Wii. Not so with the U. The controller didn't gain market share because it already exists in everyone's pockets beyond their user base.

IMO, Nintendo could be the next big thing, like Google, Apple, if they developed the IP and experience to have a top 3 smartphone/GamePhone that competes with any decent phone from Apple, Moto, Samsung, Google. They have the catalog for indie/fun games, the kind people play at their leisure on the commute, hanging out, etc. But the only way to come back on top and to satisfy everyone's calling (Shareholders, fans, critics) is to develop a dual mode Android phone running a Nintendo "OS" or game interface with a quick switch-over to standard Android. Have a Nintendo World section with it's own store, it's own security, it's own everything. Just the way Nintendo does.

Apple couldn't partner, because it's their way or the highway. Google, enter stage left....
