birthgirth commented on Talking Point: The Download or Disc Dilemma:

Having a stack of physical copies is wonderful. Its so nice to look over and see all the side labels of your games. It depends on the game though, if I'm never going to sell it, I might just download it, because its going to be a game that I absolutely love. And that means faster loading times.

I should mention, I've been stuck at home due to a foot injury. So I couldn't go anywhere or do anything but play video games, so I bought Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the eShop. My loading times are much faster than the people I play with on disc. I find myself getting to the equipment box first when playing online and changing maps much faster. Its nice ;)

I was upset at first when I heard this game would be coming out in NA 2013. But once all this Wii U information started coming, it got me really excited, and I am now glad Animal Crossing is coming later. This gives me time to play with my Wii U exclusively for a while. This is the only reason I'm not buying Sticker Star right away. As much as I'll want to play it, I won't when my Wii U is around.

I've been a strong Wii owner since the Wii came out, still play it to this day. I bought an Xbox 360 in July and sold it a few weeks ago to Gamestop to fund my Wii U accessories and games ;) Last game I played on the Xbox was Max Payne 3. Game freakin' sucks.

I just started replaying Galaxy yesterday. Planning on starting Galaxy 2 right after. ;) Glad to see they're at the top because they truly are incredible games. I needed something to take my mind off the Wii U countdown, and those games are perfect.

This is true! I just bought a Asus Transformer Infinity 3 days ago and I've been using it a ton. This one sports the quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor and has 1GB of ram. It can play the high res tablet games no problem. So I've downloaded some games that were made specifically for the tegra 3. They're fun but they really are just time killers. Where I would sit and play Kid Icarus or Mario Kart 7 for 45 minutes to 1 hour or more at a time, i play these games for maybe 10 or 15 minutes at the most before switching to a new one or going on to do something else.

birthgirth commented on Sony: Wii U Offering "Something That Vita and...:

There is nothing better than a good Nintendo game. I've been playing video games all my life, grew up with nintendo products because they're OG obviously. But I've played games on every console, and yes there are some fun games out there for PS3 and Xbox 360...but I've always found that a good Nintendo game is always much more FUN. Nintendo brings completely different level of fun to games. So even if Sony tried to deliver the "same experience" to the few people who own Vitas, they simply cannot do it. It's not as seamless either. Which I kinda see Smartglass not being as cool either...lag time maybe?
ANYWAY, start handing out a free Vita with PS3 purchases homeboy Sony.

@Hybrid17 I wish I could go back to Christmas of 2002 when I got Animal Crossing for Gamecube and relive it all. I get crazy nostalgic feelings thinking about Animal Crossing 3DS, I'm hoping I can experience the Animal Crossing greatness once again. That's my One to Watch too.

I suppose maybe the square enix games would be good on an iPad. But playing games like that with a touch-based control scheme on a smaller screen iPhone just feels wrong. It makes me not want to play them. Games on iOS just feel more like a courtesy feature and are simply for time killing.

@OlympicCho I've played plenty of games on mobile devices. I've had everything. From Android, to iOS, and currently Windows Phone 7. All of these do have some great games. Android was probably the worst because it was so unrefined and buggy, like a beta os. iOS and WP7 both have some quality games, but they're always just time killers. They're games that you play when you're finished early in class, or you're on the toilet for a short time, or in the waiting room at the doctors office. WP7 probably has the best experience because of its quality and connection to xbox live, but I never find myself spending more than 10 mins max on a game. Nintendo games have put me away for hours though, especially games like Mario & Luigi Partners in Time. I can guarantee I will be playing Paper Mario Sticker Star and Animal Crossing: Jump Out for hours. I have yet to find a game on a mobile device that can do that to me though, its always been time killers.

birthgirth commented on Nintendo Power Magazine Looks Set to Shut Down:

The magazines weren't just for news. They gave you a unique presentation and a feel good, happy, nostalgic vibe. Similar to the feeling I get when I think about Animal Crossing or Donkey Kong 64. Anyway! This is sad news. Internet cannot replace feelings :(
