battLeToaD commented on Talking Point: Should Zelda Go Episodic?:

i could only see a benefit for the game if each dungeon and its surrounding area got their own episode and these would get a slightly different graphical style.
It would destroy the amazingness of getting a new item and directly see what you can do with it in the neat Zelda world though.
I don't think that would be worth it.

I wonder why they didn't include online leaderboards while they were at it. :o
But this sounds really great, can't wait. My most loved eShop game along with Pushmo so far.
And a good reason to finally back up my SD card data since i guess it will always have a place in my heart in its original form.

battLeToaD commented on Redesigned Wii U Tablet Controller Is Revealed:

Great to see analogue sticks. I hope we'll see a lot of what the console can do during the E3 conference.
And while i'm still not sure about the name if it really makes heavy use of the Wii's controllers it might actually be the right choice.

battLeToaD commented on Talking Point: Nintendo Should Offer Indie Gam...:

With the current prices for the downloadable games personally i don't care much for discounts in any form. But anything that makes devs bring their great games to Nintendo's download stores is a good thing in my book of course.
If on the Wii U you can also buy the Wii's downloadable games it would be a good idea to have discounts though. Heck, while there are some really great games on the service it already feels old to me today.

battLeToaD commented on A LEGO Lord of the Rings Game is Definitely Ha...:

Cutscenes could be the most LEGO fun i've had yet. Know this series the best out of all the ones they've used so far. :$
But since the gameplay will most likely be the same as in the other games i don't think i'll shell out more than 25€ for a WiiU version. Even less for a 3DS or Wii version.

battLeToaD commented on Sakurai Won't Make a Kid Icarus: Uprising Sequel:

The groundwork is laid, it's your turn now, Retro. ;)
Actually i think he's right but i wouldn't have minded a simple sequel on the WiiU. I'd rather see a game with a more cohesive story mode instead of Missions in the future though.
And an amazing new 2D Kid Icarus could launch as early as tomorrow i'd get it. Nowhere near oversaturated with the franchise right now.

Sorry SEGA but it's more shocking news to me that Ninty isn't attending. They really should if they want to show Europe they care about the core gamers imo. :o

battLeToaD commented on Developers Explain How to Make a 3DS eShop Game:

Pricing and release date process sound good.
Would be interesting to hear more on why it sometimes takes so long until certain games come to Europe. (Age ratings, translation, something else?) Don't know if it's the same in America.

"Nintendo has a very high quality approval process and makes sure that games are really playable when they come to the customer."
Actually it seems like the percentage of borderline unplayable games in the eShop is much lower than on Wii- and DSiWare so far. Hope this doesn't change in the future.

Gaz Plant you're a wizard.
A really great article on the marketing Ninty does for the title.
A movie or a TV show could be really great if done right, i like the humor.
I think a new game in the vein of Uprising should come to the WiiU. It deserves a place on a home console. Wii Remote and Nunchuck controls wouldn't hurt either. To have the same mission structure would be bearable once more though at least after that i'd love 'em to do a more coherent story mode.
And please give us more 2D platforming KI goodnees too, Ninty.

battLeToaD commented on Adventure Time on DS to be Released 'Late Fall':

When i first heard about it i was surprised it's not Telltale making the game. Didn't know anything 'bout the series at that time and some days later i was zapping on the TV and you wouldn't believe it, there was Adventure Time.
I liked what i saw and hope WayForward really find a way to keep the fine humor intact. Can't wait to see more of this.
@Wildvine53: Brilliant idea, i love that game. :)

battLeToaD commented on Kid Icarus: Uprising on SNES Might Have Looked...:

When i played the 3D Classic and OMaM i couldn't help but think how amazing a new 2D platforming Kid Icarus with SNES style graphics could be. And while i'd rather see side- edit: and vertical-scrolling flying sections in it this looks amazing. Make it happen, Nintendo!

battLeToaD commented on Feature: Three Reasons Why Mario's Next Advent...:

Congrats, i never thought i'd think 'bout the merits of today's tech and game design on SMB2. But you've done it.
Retro should handle it after the great they did to Donkey Kong Country.
And while your ideas about the multiplayers sound fantastic i don't want to have switch mechanics in single player in something as straight as a main Mario game. Leave that to Lost Vikings and Co. please.

battLeToaD commented on Sakurai: Dual Analogue Control in Kid Icarus: ...:

Yes, the controls in Uprising aren't perfect. In ground battles i sometimes can't pull off a sprint when i want to. The camera isn't a big help during close melee attacks. Changing your ability when you don't want to and being unable to pull off the quick dodges in flight battles isn't too nice either.
I don't know if they could have been better with a bit more fine tuning. But i'm quite sure they would not have been there in a Wii version of the game. An analogue stick and a flick of the Nunchuck to dodge in the air would have made quite a difference here imo. It wouldn't have been as fast as with the Stylus and item usage would have been more complicated though.

So in the end i have slight problems with the controls but still think they complement the gameplay nicely enough.

Thanks for marking the beginning of me becoming a more serious gamer with The Windwaker. And for being so cheap neither me nor my parents could possibly have said no in late 2003.
At least i guess i should thank and not damn you for it. ;)

battLeToaD commented on Interview: Trent Oster - WiiWare from a Develo...:

Good interview. Nice to see he's at least trying to understand Nintendo. Not that it makes a difference for them in the end but i hate people who say the decisions of others must be stupid. Without even thinking about why they were made.

PS: No installation for PC games means once it’s down from the servers you cannot play it any longer, right? As much as i hope it doesn't come to this i'd like to be completely sure i can access my game anytime i want to. So i don't really like that idea.

battLeToaD commented on Download Your Wii U Games Overnight:

The download process on the 3DS still could be better imo. I'd love the console to be shut down after a sleep-mode- / standby-download. If it can be done with computers i don't see why it shouldn't be possible with a Ninty console.
Not a big fan of leaving systems in Sleep- / Standby-Mode all day.

battLeToaD commented on Talking Point: Could AR Games Drive eShop Sales?:

AR's rock.
It's kind of a shame that the initial AR games weren't updated since they could profit from more achievements and online leaderboards.
Face Raiders and the dragon were really mind-blowing in these first few days of the 3DS. I'd love if such exploration was used in point & clicky adventure games.
Your idea about having more than one AR card and using 'em to outline a path sounds good. I hope someone uses it. Rotating the AR cards to trigger different actions also seems to have potential if technical limitations don't ruin the fun.

battLeToaD commented on Europe, What Do You Make Of Your Beat the Beat...:

I don't know. While i like how it puts more empasis on the action and on the player itself it could use some more colours and characters from the US boxart. And yeah, it also looks more generic and random, i especially miss the acceleration traces of the rocketship and the jumping characters.
But the most important thing of course is the small sentence on the bottom. :)
And as long as it sells the game it's fine really.

battLeToaD commented on Talking Point: What New Super Mario Bros. 2 Me...:

Good point. It should be a good way keep the momentum of 3DS sales.
Raccoon Mario in 2D has potential. Maybe it will have some coonectivity with the WiiU (launch?) game so that it doesn't feel like the same thing so soon again.
The update and patchability of games seem to show that Ninty cares about us. I hope this impression will also be supported by amazing games at E3.
