@ Rexy : I always try to see problems as chances, the problem of the game link emulation of game boy games could be a great chance to use WiFi play instead (like Dr. Mario Rx), or local wireless play (with NDS). Possible and would be same game play.

@ Virus : Many contents fit in both, the 'M' and ' T ' ratings; 'Gore', 'Violence', 'Blood', 'MILD suggestive themes', 'Language', 'Gambling', 'Alcohol/Drugs/Tobacco reference' (ESRB content descriptors) could SOMETIMES make it through Nintendo´s STUPID policies (Remember Pong Toss changing its name...).

But in this article and through history we can see that other themes such as any degree of 'Sexual content', high degrees of 'Use of Alcohol/Drugs/Tobacco', 'Blood', or some other way controversial themes not even "offensive" enough to be classified by ESRB or other raters such as crime, historic international wars, religious, racial, and any other kind of discrimination may NEVER make it to Nintendo (At least NOA) because they lack the maturity, knowledge and sensibility needed to appreciate many games (NAM-1975 for Neo-Geo or the importing of Devil´s World for NES) and lately because they think their new target market (casual) could find it offensive, which is funny because casual gamers may actually not even know about this issues and sometimes they may not even know about Nintendo, many only play on their PC.

Besides you said "Nintendo did release - AN - "M" game on the VC". Look what you´re saying ONE OUT OF 200+, ONE AFTER 2 YEARS OF VC, ONE THAT COULD EASILY FIT AS ' T ', 'M' AND NOT 'A'. And analyzing everything, it IS matter of content! c'mon man its Nintendo!

Facts like this make me doubt about the release of NAM-1975 for Neo-Geo or the importing of Devil´s World for NES, they are great games but lots of maturity, knowledge and sensibility are needed to appreciate them, and saddly Nintendo has shown us they havent any of them with their STUPID secrecy policy, changing their target market to people who dont even know about Nintendo and then banning some games without even letting us know and without having a single solid reason, AGAIN ... I HATE NINTENDO !

And there are people who ask me why I hate Nintendo!

Good news is that you can get a GBA, GBASP or GBM to play it in a compilation named 'Capcom Classics Mini MIx" along with Strider and Final Ffght OR you can always look for a NES and the original game on pawn shops or at ebay.

@ deadbattery : I ABSOLUTELY agree.
@ Bigby : Shameful news you have brought.
@ Kriqz : Agreed, some casual games are great being creative, funny and quick (Wii Play, Defend your Castle, Mario Party) giving you fresh and new experineces, variety and any time great to be played because of its quality but ideal for situations in which you dont have much energy, patience or time and representing a great step forward for the gaming industry. But that doesnt quit the fact that many of them are stupid (Pong Toss), nasty (My Pokémon Ranch) or would do better on other industries rather than gaming (Wii Fit). As good games are well liked, recognized and enjoyed, also stupid, nasty and useless games should be criticized, never minding if it is a hardcore garbage game (Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts) or a casual garbage game (SPOGS). - I DONT CARE BEING BLAMED BECAUSE OF EXAMPLES GIVEN. -

I prefer to see MPR on 1st rather than Pong Toss!

Wii developing, financial and marketing efforts are mostly directed to stupid people so we shouldn´t be surprised to see stupid games in the top positions. I know hardcore, developers and journalists still have access to them, but sadly we are not in anyway their target market.

Besides WiiWare is a service for games that wouldnt leave profit at retial (mostly bad games) and adding this to the low prices (compared to retail games) and to the need of small roms in order to fit in that little Wii memory the result is a service with the quality of a cheap gaming cellphone downloading service and as such we may expect it and rate it. The only one who thinks or likes to think WiiWare is a quality gaming service is Nintendo who does the impossible to force us to think the same.

At least Nintendo even reacted with those few words telling us we are hopeless to their power disguised as a self-justification that could only satisfy few weak minded casual gamers insulting our intelligence. More than ever they owe us an APOLOGY and ACTIONS to solve the problem, not a vain, defectous and barely reasoned JUSTIFICATION.

alxtlvra commented on USA VC Update: Sonic (Master System) and Splat...:

@ Everybody : SEE, I TOLD YOU THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN !!!

I still think Nintendo keeps falling to the bottom letting down not only their costumers, but also their licensees, with this dumb fashion of keeping in secret the vc releases and lately lying about confirmations to the licensees. Maybe they want to teach to 3rd parties not to confirm games by the hardway, and Nintendo is going to succeed on this because 3rd patries wont have anything to confirm if they get tired of this attitude and stop supporting the vc.

There were decent games out there, in fact if Sonic for SMS or other big name game hadnt been released instead of the confirmed games consecuences would have been waaay harder. Worth noting also is the fact of the first M rated game for vc (I could be wrong here) which widens the chances to see more games with that rating or in any other way controversial on vc, I'd love to see the import of NES Devil's World to America.

Of course this doesnt make up for their fault but some people prefer this games than the ones annonced and as for me I also feel that let down but I am getting used to this when speaking about Nintendo. (E3, Star parodier delayed, decreasing vc and first party games).

Can´t you get it? Then you are dumb, and if you are dumb, therefore you have the lowest expectations over all. See, I proved it.

@ Mickeymac : You have posted

"Brawl hit my every expectation! The only thing I was disappointed by was the lack of specific Target stages for each individual character ..." ... "The only reason why I didn't like Mario Kart Wii was because of the crappy items they add that shook things up too much, but to be honest, I was hoping for more items, so I can't say I was disappointed ..."

So your expectations WERENT COMPLETELY SATISFIED as I said. See it, I proved myself being right AGAIN, twice in a single post :) Nice!

alxtlvra commented on The Mascott speaks about the Virtual Console!:

I completely agree with the video anyone who doesnt surely works at Nintendo.

@ Bass XO : You sound logical, but then why not release ONLY good games for a situation in which everyone would win (it would be even better for Nintendo since casual gamers would still keep buying plus hardcore gamers would also) for the quantity of games been released lately there are more than enough good games to fill in the schedule for the rest of Wii life and even more, even taking out ones with licensing issues, and if they werent enough there are still more classic consoles (Game Boy, Saturn, 32X, IBM PC, Atari, AppleII, Intellivision)

@ FalcoLombardi : In fact Rare has stated that they are open to a chance of negotiating the license of Banjo for VC, also said Nintendo is who doesnt (ANOTHER reason to keep hating dumb Nintendo, or maybe just evil). Also it is comming for XBLA this year in its ORIGINAL version, yes even with that N64, Nintendo logos and other things belonging to Nintendo, which makes me think that maybe they have already negotiated the license of Banjo for VC in exchange for the license of Nintendo´s propeties for a complete XBLA release of Banjo.

And let me dream we will be getting both N64 Banjos and a new Banjo Threeie for Nintendo DS different game from "BK nuts and bolts". Chances are high if you think about it !

Wonderful!

Still some early NeoGeo games that havent been released would also be worth to buy immediately, particularly I am waiting for NAM-1975, a great pack-in launch title about Vietnam war of the firsts featuring real voice acting (NOT in compilation).

I may erase KOF94 now that the compilation has been released to get back some blocks.

The only thing those standings mean is that saddly we (hard core gamers) are not anymore Nintendo´s market... in which other sitution would Toki Tori and Star Soldier stay at the bottom while Pong Toss and Spogs went up 7 places in a day or two? This proves Nintendo dont need us anymore and explains the death of the virtual console.

@Falco: I would have prefered to wait a little longer (actually up to 3 years or even more) for Mario Kart Wii and Brawl in order to have the game quality that those big names and we deserve. I dont know a single gamer (not casual) whose expectations were completely satisfied with the characters, difficulty and lenght of both games.

The control of the Wii Wheel, besides being as uncomfortable as hell, the remote was not done for keeping its buttons pressed for long so the B, 2 buttons and pad stop responding good (Worst thing is that Nintendo should have noticed this issue but as long as that wheel and a sooner release ment more cash they didnt care). I used the wheel 2 days and 2 remotes became unusable, seriously.

They ended up being just good, not the great deal everyone expected. On a side note, even with this details you cant compare Mario sluggers and Animal Crossing to MK and Brawl, its true they are also strong names but they werent as expected as the ones above and dont mean as much to the industry, I personally consider Nintendo ran out of games too soon and they are using them as refill. So, me and many more are not happily satisfied, just ... OK

Nintendo just tell their people, such as Reggie and Miyamoto, to keep saying "We are working on it" without further detail to keep us waiting for them to throw us the bone (which, as everybody knows here, isnt even being discussed because its not gonna happen), as strange as it sounds, to me its sad and funny at the same time to see in how many different ways and times they can actually repeat this.

alxtlvra commented on RPG Action Comes to the US Next Month in Ys Bo...:

Its a relief to have clear the dates of that delayed games but personally I think we deserve further explanation or at least a little regrets about this and many other vc delays, its already much of an offense from Nintendo (who ultimately dates and uploads EVERY release) to have us researching for that dates because of that stupid policy of keeping as top secret the future vc title releases and its dates.

@Rapadash6: I wouldnt hope for Super Mario RPG since its ESRB rating got canceled ...

PERSONALLY I hate golf and I think it might not even be called a sport, but just a game (I mean whats the great PHYSICAL effort in walking a few steps and hitting a ball with a club while just standing), although it may be just me, so I´d prefer to get all 3 TG16 games that were scheduled for july or AoF2 (and another one, It´d be ANOTHER let down from Nintendo to get just one vc game) instead of Neo Turf M (but, since that game is on the compilation disc to be released for Wii, I think we might get it eventually before said compilation in order to make more money of the game)

"You can't say that the first kart sims released for each and every single videogame system will be a revolution in any way,"

Sonic drift is a racing game from 1994, great PORTABLE game (facts that explain its limitations in gameplay and graphics) which, being the first racer portable on color and with rotation feature represented critical growth in the portable gaming industry, being one of the basis for the portable racing genere as we know it today.

Got it? I never spoke of a hit on a specific console, I said ... PORTABLE, way wider group

"Either way, from the footage I've seen of Sonic Drift it actually looks fine considering the system it was on, though I can't help but the road shading techniques seems to be more prone for seizures with the way it was animated."

So ... you never PLAYED it, I hate speaking about games I havent played because I realize I cant judge fairly something I dont know for complete, I can only limit to say "PERSONALLY I dont like how it LOOKS" ... you should think about doing this sometime.

THE SADDEST LET DOWN I HAVE RECIEVED EVER !!! (and also many other guys). is not because the E3 or that games, in fact I didnt even planned on buying them.

This is because the facts I already mentioned make me see Nintendo is not the worthy, reliable and honorable being I believed. Besides I personally learned not to lie in a REALLY hard way losing really worthy things for me, I am a professional enterprise mannager and for me (and many more) the values on any business are a MAJOR factor from which the enviroment (R&D), the image (MKT), and therefore the profits (PRIME OBJECTIVE) of an enterprise primarly depends. And for me, seeing Nintendo, who I really admired since I was 3 doing this, is indeed ... THE SADDEST LET DOWN I HAVE RECIEVED EVER !!!

So, in anyway you see it, Nintendo is doing WAAAY wrong.

Guys, what can I say? Most of you just cant see beyond your noses, I mean the only thing that most of you care about is if YOU personally enjoy its controls and GRAPHICS, there´s notohig I can do given that fact, I just think more like a hardcore gamer collector than just a gamer alone, so I also care about the growth of the whole gaming industry, not just the likes of me or my friends. (ABSOLUTELY, SONIC DRIFT WAS RELEASED IN THE U.S. ON 1994, YOU CAN CONFIRM IT AT WIKIPEDIA OR ON THE SAID GAME)

@Rexy, @Adamant: You cant compare handheld and console games in anyway, not that any is better they´r just different.

@Virus: I truly respect gamers like you who take on the work of playing and researching a game before judging, but analtze things beyond yourself, I also like Sonic R its a very original concept for a Sonic game in its whole, every Sonic soundrtack is an instant hit and OF COURSE this isnt the exception, I love Radiant Emerald and City soundtracks.

@everydayJOE: NO, sadly Sonic the hedgehog for Master System/Game Gear doesnt feature the DOWN + B spin dash/roll, this was really the first Sonic game, he just jumps and runs.

I also think it was a good week, Genesis games before 2 or 3 long months, finally no Neo Geo and not fighting games, and once again a Monday with both games being 'import', and also its worth noting Sunsoft getting into vc (and hoping to see more gamas form them) one of the best vc Monday of this year if you ask me, along with the other import weeks, Double Dragon and Alex Kidd for MS week. But sadly not compared to the last year releases that in first place were of 3 games.

However its not all happiness, one thing I hate and I learned not to do by a REALLY hard way is lying, specially breaking promises, and I am really sad that Nintendo is doing this. First they promised us at least 10 vc games per month, promise broken, next they promise MSX games which were releases almost after a whole year, then they promise a storage sollution and a 'Big name game', both which we all know that isnt even being discussed, they let us know this by the greatest LET DOWN from Nintendo at E3 (They just tell their people to say 'We are working on it' without further detail to keep us waiting for them to throw us the bone).

AND TODAY... they even lied to their licensees (HUDSON) to the point that an officially confirmation of games were turned into a total lie without further explanation, taking down with it HUDSON's reliability and confidence even when they had nothing to do. (Nintendo setteles launch dates on vc, licensees as HUDSON just communicate what they were told, NOT before 3 days from that release, as Nintendo with its stupidity of keeping their releases in secret forced them to do so as part of the deal). YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY NINTENDO? NO, ITS THE SADDEST LET DOWN I HAVE RECIEVED EVER !!! (and also many other guys)

I know some Neo Geo games are great classics we all love but the biggest majority including me was getting sick of this lack of variety just because Nintendo is rushing with NeoGeo titles in order to release the 16+ games collection disc that was scheduled for June, but that wont stop delaying only after enough dumbs have downloaded the vc single versions.

Anyone who post saying I am wrong must be a man working at Nintendo, who is not as honorable as I thought ...

Why do you always judge a game without noting its time of release, without doing a proper research and worst maybe without even having played it?

Sonic drift is a racing game from 1994, great PORTABLE game (facts that explain its limitations in gameplay and graphics) which, being the first racer portable on color and with rotation feature represented critical growth in the portable gaming industry, being one of the basis for the portable racing genere as we know it today.

Old school gamers surely know this one, but if not, think of it as a Pole Position or Rad Racer for Game Gear featuring Sonic characters. For nowaday's kiddies all I can say is that without games like the ones above and Sonic Drift maybe you wouldnt have known and played Mario Kart DS or any Need for Speed version in the time and way you did, so if you are so "close-minded" to give them a try you should at least show some respect and do a further research when discussing about 'em, not just here, but anywhere.

alxtlvra commented on ESRB Update: Sonic the Hedgehog on Master System:

I own Sonic Adventure DX for cube, and it has 12 unlockable Master System/Game Gear (the MS versions are almost identical to its portable GG releases, at least on this game disc) and considering the fact that there are rated games that have been canceled or taken more than a year (and still counting) to show up on the vc; you´d rather spend your bucks on this one, which includes this first Sonic. (Besides being a great game by itself)

The ONLY Sonic games from SEGA consoles that arent on ANY Nintendo remake/port/collection (the cheapest and most practical way) are Knuckles Chaotix for the SEGA Genesis (32X add-on) and Sonic Schuffle for Dreamcast, and because of that they would be the ONLY Sonic instant downloads for me and any practical guy. (If they popped up on vc someday)
