Heh, I used to play this game a LOT when I was younger... I never managed to beat the stage where you got the Turtlemobile though... I think you were supposed to save Splinter in it... When I think back I think you were supposed to use a rope or something to cross between two roofs but I was too young to understand that back then.
People complain about the dam level, but as far as I remember I thought it was a very easy level... as soon as I had memorized the locations of all the bombs that is.
In any case it's not worth 600 points, and there is no chance that I'll get it for the VC.

Doesn't look very good to me... not judging from the video at least... but I've never been much for shoot 'em ups... The only square game I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing here is Chrono Trigger though... but I'm sure Square won't let us have that one...

Lone commented on EU VC Releases - 14th September - Double Japan...:

That they demand more points for games just because they haven't been released outside Japan before is pure bull... And to not even translate Picross... I guess that means no previously Japan only RPGs will come to the VC. Like Seiken Densetsu 3 which I've been dying to play... Actually there has been very few Squaresoft (Square-Enix) games on the VC... has there been any at all? Well, there was Actraiser from Enix... I guess Square-Enix is being stingy with their games =/

This was one of my old favorites back when I owned a Mega Drive. The story of the game might be a bit "meh.." but I still enjoy it. The difficulty isn't too high either, as long as you level your characters to lv 20 before upgrading them you'll be nigh invincible. Personally I used the battle before the Dragon village to go from 12-20 with all characters (that I used) 2 at a time. Then I had to do it again with Bleu who is the powerhouse of the game, with his bosslike stats. =P
Still the battles are fun, the music is awesome and who needs great graphics anyway? This is an easy 4/5 from me. I haven't played SFII yet but if it's as good as some say I'm sure it's a 5/5 =P Waiting for that one now =)

Ellie: If you use a Gamecube controller for Player 2 make sure it's plugged in socket number two as well... I was annoyed that it didn't work for me at first but then I realized that I had plugged the controller into the Player 1 port... though perhaps I'm just somewhat more stupid than the average guy xD

I've gotten this myself now and it's just as fun as it was back in the day =P I still love sneaking up on santa and I'm still terrified of the darn Ice Cream truck xD Also, though it says that it isn't "specced" (or something) for the GC controller the button layout is simple (A=B, B=A, C=X), the only thing that might be annoying is that you have to use the (imo) poorly placed directional cross.

Some years back I felt like trying out BoF1 and 2 since BoF3 is one of the best RPGs ever made imho. Though I didn't really like em close to as much... I'm sure the story is great as it was in BoF 3 though there was something with the gameplay that bothered me...
It's too bad BoF 3 was made for the PSOne and thus won't be released for the VC... I miss that game. It's strangely enough the only game I really like in the series... I did play through BoF 4 too though, 5 on the other hand sucked so much it wasn't even funny.

Another old classic MD game I used to play way too much for my own good xD
I remember beating this once only but I was only like... well young... wasn't the ending theme Elvis Presley's Fool or something very similar?
Bah, really good game in any case, an easy 5/5.

Heh, I used to love this game =)
For the game play? Partially... but not really...
For the graphics? Not really...
For the depth? Hardly...
What then? The MUSIC =D OMG I still love the music in this game, it always brings a smile to my face. The sound effects are quite funny as well =P
Still, since it lacks replay value and is so short I can only give it a 3/5.

Lone commented on Contra III: The Alien Wars:

Hmm... I know the games Super Probotector and Contra III are basically the same... but wasn't there two robots in Probotector instead of the usual characters?

In any case me and a friend used to play this game all the time =) We ruled at it =P Though contantly playing a game for like a year has that effect xD

It's an awesome game, though a bit hard. It takes quite a few tries before you get through to the end. Still, it's nothing compared to the difficulty of the PS2 version of Contra...

4/5 due to the difficulty that may repel new players.

Hmm... never really liked the original Megaman series all too much... still played through 2-4 though... The X series is awesome though. Got the X collection for the GC though, along with a freeloader which is supposed to work on the Wii too, I really hope it does. (Getting my Wii in a few days)

Can't understand people who are like Mr. Drayton up there and think that the game sucks because of the cinematics... I loved the game for the snes but I was only pleasantly surprised when I found that it was the PSX version that was included in the collection. If the freeloader really does work I'm getting one of those snes like controllers so I can play the games for real. Hated the GC button layout.

I haven't played Zelda:TP yet but out of the rest this is by far number one. It's perfect it every aspect. The second best one is (also by far) OOT, but even though OOT is as good as it is it's not close to as awesome as this game =)

This was so my favorite game when I was younger =D
I remember shouting with joy when I beat it the first time when I was like 8-9 years old after playing it for many, many hours. =)
The randomness is so damn awesome!
The elevator chats between levels in 2-player mode was usually really randomly fun too =)
This is an easy 5/5 for me.
