Brian Drayton commented on Goldeneye NOT Virtual Console Bound?:

I AM SO SICK OF THESE STUPID RUMORS AND ALLEGATIONS!!!!

Goldeneye 007 will be released on the wii virtual console and only the wii virtual console, because Nintendo published the game and have the rights to it!

Now before I undoubtedly hear the "but Microsoft owns Rare" crap again, please don't forget that when Nintendo sold off Rare to Microsoft, Nintendo sold off Rare's respective IPs for future installments (Banjo, Joanna Dark, etc.) BUT, Nintendo made sure they kept the rights to all the old N64 games, including Goldeneye 007.

So on that note, in regards to 1up's story, Of course Nintendo wouldn't let Goldeneye 007 appear on Live Arcade, it's because they own the game. Nintendo will go through channels to have the James Bond license back, but something tells me neither of them are Rare or Microsoft, I mean if Nintendo is able to unsuprisingly refuse Microsoft the game, what makes everyone else think that Microsoft can turn around and refuse Nintendo a wii virtual console port? ESPECIALLY when 1up's story didn't specifically state that a Wii virtual console port isn't happening either. They just stated that Goldeneye 007 won't appear on Live Arcade!

I do believe that rests my case. And I thank ya'll!

Brian Drayton commented on Mega Man:

I own both Mega Man and X collection. However, I will be downloading all ten of those games on my Wii! Mega Man 1-7 and X 1 2 and 3! Oh how sweet it is!!!!

The X collection version of Mega Man X 3 wasn't the Super NES version and when I noticed that, boy was I pissed!! I just thought the useless anime cinemas and awful remixed soundtrack dissapointed me to no end!! Not everyone will feel the same way about it as I do, so remember I'm speaking for myself.

Overall, people shouldn't be suprised about Capcom re-releaseing Mega Man on the Virtual Console. Even though Europe and others will get Mega Man before North America does again, I highly doubt Capcom wouldn't cash cow off of the franchise once again. Mega Man is just one of many old game franchises that deserves multiple exposure.

Now having said all of that, for those who don't want to download any Mega Man games because they own both collections then so be it. that's on ya'll. I on the other hand look forward to this!!!!

Don't be an idiot, Bass XO. Of course, this is going to pave the way for the TMNT 2: Arcade Game (NES version), Manhattan Project, Turtles in Time, Tournament Fighters, and Hyperstone Heist.

It's a case of if you see one, you're going to see them all. Get it, got it? Good.

Brian Drayton commented on Will we ever see Banjo Kazooie on the Virtual ...:

You want to talk about being an idiot, Visor? If Banjo Kazooie and Perfect Dark and etc. were XBLA bound, Microsoft and Rare would've made them available a long time ago! I'm telling you right now, the fact Nintendo published Banjo Kazooie and have exclusive distribution rights for Perfect Dark, even though Rare published it, Microsoft and Rare can't easily put them on XBLA!

AGAIN, AND I THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Wow! Another Capcom game! Can't wait for them to release all the 8-bit and 16-bit Mega Man games! I for one am looking forward to revisiting Mega Man X 1, 2, and 3!

Brian Drayton commented on Will we ever see Banjo Kazooie on the Virtual ...:

Nintendo did publish the first two Banjo Kazooie titles and they were both exclusive to the N64, Gypsy. No matter what "legal issues" are at hand here, I don't like Microsoft and Rare's chances of "stopping" Nintendo from releasing those titles on the Virtual Console eventually. And I thank you!

Brian Drayton commented on Hardware Focus - Sega Megadrive / Genesis:

You know, I have yet to see any third party Sega Genesis games. I for one would like to see Konami release the likes of Contra: Hard Corps, Castlevania: Bloodlines, TMNT: Hyperstone Heist.

I know there are many more third party Genesis games I'm leaving out, but can't think of any more right now.

Yeah, all joking aside onemeg, I think in the end this entire situation will play itself out and we will all see what happens to Rare's entire old catalog. This issue can stay hidden for only so long. I would say before 2008 arrives, I would hope to play the likes of Perfect Dark, Goldeneye 007, Jet Force Gemini, and many other Rare gems on my Nintendo Wii. For my sake and each and every one of ya'll out there, lets hope for the best. Later!

Brian Drayton commented on Will we ever see Banjo Kazooie on the Virtual ...:

Damn it, people!!!! All right, here's the gist of the entire situation! All of those old Rareware develpoed games belong to Nintendo. Yes, Rare and Microsoft own the IP rights to characters like Banjo and Kazooie, Conker, Joanna Dark, etc., but they have little to no say of those old Nintendo platformed games, because Nintendo published every one of those titles. If it's not the publishing rights, it's the exclusive distribution rights, which Nintendo also has marked for those games. So fear not, the likes of Banjo Kazooie, Tooie, Perfect Dark, Goldeneye, and even Battletoads will make an eventual appearance on the Virtual Console whether Rare or Microsoft likes it or not, because they have no say.

I don't know why Rare or Microsoft is trying to play dumb in this, but there goes.
