Zyzzybalubah commented on E3 2010: Donkey Kong Country Returns This Fall:

This is a breath of fresh air for those of us who played all the dk country games and skipped over those horrible "sequels" in between. When this first was shown at the press conference, I think I might have shed a tear.

At only 800 points this looks like a steal. I really hope they release this in the US soon

Zyzzybalubah commented on Hands-on with Datel's Wireless Retro Controller:

Or instead of wasting money on this, you could simply take your classic controller (assuming you already have one) and:
1) Move the wii remote with you and your cc and thats about as wireless as you can get.
2) Press the power button on the wii remote that the cc attaches to...
Problems solved.

@zeeroid

a classic controller costs about 20 dollars (at least that's how much I bought it for) not 5, so I would assume the price to be higher. Even then though I would say this game is worth buying, I have it for SNES and have played it over probably 5 or 6 times and each time I enjoy it more and more. And the soundtrack will be stuck in your head for days on end!

@Cally

I don't think I would agree when you say SMRPG's mechanics were "complex", no offense but I could have beat that game with my eyes closed only using pick me up's. There wasn't much strategy to it. About as much as there was in paper mario. Timed hits, items, special attacks, etc. the fighting system in the Mario RPG's remain relatively unchanged throughout the series.

Zyzzybalubah commented on US VC Release - 2nd June - Ninja Combat:

@WoRMaSTeR
slow down there, I didn't say that. WiiWare hasn't been out that long. I mean SINCE it was released. Personally I enjoyed the releases before it, specifically harvest moon, and I think others would agree. Besides, if you are going to use this weak dollar argument, might as well apply it to all gaming. Take a look at all the popular releases we have been getting lately (Mario Kart Wii, Melee, etc..). If Nintendo was truely worried about their profits because of the dollar, they would not even consider releasing those games. Think of the expenses for packaging, hardware, transportation are going to add up, and Nintendo would be making a lot less. But VC takes all of those expenses out of the equation! So how you apply that to the VC releases are beyond me.

Zyzzybalubah commented on US VC Release - 2nd June - Ninja Combat:

I don't think the dollar being weak has anything to do with it. It doesn't make a difference whether they make money now or later, if they make available the games people want, they will buy and they will continue to buy into the future. Personally, I believe this is an attempt to boost popularity to WiiWare. But they are kind of like apples and oranges... and so are the people who buy the games. Those who buy games of the VC buy those games they've always loved or yearned to play. Those who buy games from WiiWare are not looking for those old games but new gaming ideas and all that good fun. But I mean, if you are giving more to only one of those groups, the other group is bound to be dissapointed. And I don't think we can hate on Nintendo so much for doing this, they want to get WiiWare out there so it's JUST a popular; they are trying new things. So props to you Nintendo. And I think we who wait for the VC releases we want, well we just have to be patient and wait for everyone else to get a peice of the pie before we get a second helping. I hope that makes as much sense as it did in my head hah.

I think I would be willing to pay 1500 points if they should price SMRPG as such. I have played that game soooooooooooooooooooo many times and in every way is it worth it. Ahh my mouth is watering... I have the cart which i bought a couple years back without even knowing about the game, and I was very pleased. But sadly, my SNES is having troubles.

Zyzzybalubah commented on North American WiiWare launch games:

I really hope that WiiWare is not used as an excuse to release a sub-par or smaller amount of games. Even though I believe that WiiWare is a great way for these other games to be released, i still have more of an interest in those more commercial games I have been waiting forever to play... I am hoping for earthbound sometime soon...
