I wasn't too impressed with this game when it came out on the original X-Box, and unless the game has been improved, I don't see any reason to play it again. Who knows, maybe it has been tweaked, and is better than before?
I was hoping Star Fox 2 for the SNES would get released on VC, since the game is complete with only a few bugs to work out, but this is very nice to see too! This would be so awesome! It seems it always comes down to the fans to create things like this.
Sounds great. Just the other day I was thinking how there was never another Zelda game on the SNES to follow Link to the Past, and now my prayers have been answered. Maybe...
Not sure if it looks better, but I can say it looks awesome! Would be interesting to play the entire game, 16-bit style. And to think, it took two years to put that overworld map together, wow.
Quick, everyone download a copy of MDK2, right now! (actually maybe I will) Anywho, Nintendo has always had a sort of bad rep when it comes to making the third party devs happy, ever since the NES days, but like most people are saying, things are getting better. I think Beamdog shouldn't be so quick to jump ship just yet, although I can certainly understand the reason for their frustration.
Kinda neat, but how does the thing vent all the hot air out? What if it over-heats, I didn't see any vents for the fan? The case looks like a plastic juice or cereal container, but seems to work well enough. Wonder how long the battery lasts? Ah well, I just wish I had one myself! Heck, maybe I will just go and make one, seems like everyone is doing it these days.
I think the franchise has been a huge success, and very profitable, but obviously for good reason. There is alot of Mario related stuff, but there is also alot of innovative new directions they have taken the characters. It's not like they keep releasing the same game over and over, there is always something new to look forward to, and things can only continue on that path, so long as there is no shortage of imagination, and fans willing to try something different. Heck if we want, we have plenty of classics to fall back on too! Of course I am talking about the core series, not the spin-offs, which maybe there are too many, but I am sure alot of fans don't mind. I think if they keep creative focus on the core series they will be better off, but then again I love Mario Kart, and Mario Tennis...so I am guilty as charged.
I just played this to see what it was like, and it is decent, but it's obviously gonna be more fun on multiplayer, as the single player challenges are enough to make me rip out my hair sometimes, maybe it's just harder using the wheel? I tried finding people online though, and I can never seem to find anyone...maybe not enough people have the game yet? Anywho, my only real problem with the game is the music, which is very out of place, but thankfully there is an option to shut it off, unless you enjoy ragtime jazz music in a racing game? Hopefully a demo will be released for those still not sure about it. Also I tried to check out the dlc, and there was none...yet.
Looks really fun, but remember, those fire imps are no joke! Hahaha, and I almost feel bad for the monsters, they get brutalized, and don't stand much of a chance. Yeah, the character model looked a generation older, but I would imagine they had to scale some things back so they could fit more content in there, but even so, I would still play this.
Really, the components are that cheap? That's weird, since of all the consoles I ever bought, Nintendo seems to make the most durable ones. So should I get these parts myself and build my own Wii-U? Would make a fun project. I see that the rumor mill starts spinning faster and faster...the release of the console must be getting closer!
Pretty sure that no matter what, it will be more powerful than the Wii, obviously. With that out of the way...lets see more games! Although, with all these rumors of the Wii-U not being a super powered steroid mutant, I can't help but think maybe it's a little bit true that it is slightly underpowered. Only because of Nintendo stating that the system will play Wii games, but will not be able to upscale them...which I find kind of strange, but then again maybe it's just not that important with everything else considered. But like Assassin87 said, I am not going to believe anymore rumors until the next E3. As always, having a super powered machine doesn't automatically translate to awesome gameplay, although I do also enjoy HD consoles and PC gaming, as should everyone, imho. If it's really that big of a deal, could we blast the console with gamma rays and see what happens? It works wonders in comic books!
My conspiracy theory is not very original, but I think those devs were paid to say those things. Also, all I care about are the games...why don't the devs worry less about how powerful it is, and make some freakin' games instead? I am pretty confident it will be powerful enough to produce some very nice graphics, even though it will not be on par with consoles (if they still exist by then) from the year 2038....seriously, I don't care. I just want a release date, a price, and a list of launch games...thank you! BTW I am an anonymous game developer, so you better listen to what I say, and take it to heart. LMAO! Yeah right...
One of the best jokes ever, and I would totally buy a cartridge if they produced one. Of course the NES doesn't have the mic like the Famicom does, but still, I want that cartridge now!
The first Geist seemed to have alot of potential, although I never got to play it. All I know about it is what I have seen in videos, etc. I think a sequel for the Wii-U would be a great idea. Maybe even have the original as a downloadable game would be cool too?
@Assassin87 No, I am aware of what it can do, and I see the great potential in that aspect. It's just the fact of using a tablet style device as a controller that seems kinda weird to me, but I am open to new things. When the Wii first came out I said the same thing about motion controls, and now I love it. So yeah, what I meant was probly the size of the controller. I hope it can be wired into the console, because I am sure the thing will eat batteries like there is no tomorrow. Can't wait to get my hands on it, so then I can decide for sure.
I just hope the price is reasonable, and there are some great games at launch. I am still a little bit on the fence about that new controller though, seems like a bit much, but then again I am probly just getting old.
I have nothing against free games, but I have found that most (if not all of them, on Steam anyways) of them really are free to play, but if you want the good stuff, or want to make it easier to progress, you have to pay real world money. If that is what someone chooses to do, then go for it. Team Fortress 2 being for free was a giant leap for the sake of awesomeness. Then again there is that free game from Doritos on the XBox360 that wasn't half bad, which was weird coming from a snack food company. In the end, I think it wouldn't hurt for Nintendo to embrace the concept, they have nothing to lose, even if they think otherwise. Nintendo is very stubborn and set in their ways, just a little bit of change wouldn't hurt sales of their own franchises, since everyone knows they create the best first party games on the planet, imo. If anything it would only create a better opportunity for gamers and game developers to have more reason to choose a Nintendo console/handheld.
Well I think it is always a given that the next console will have more power under the hood than the previous one, but really, I want to see some games first. Sony and Microsoft, I am sure their next consoles will be even more powerful, and will boast about that too, but why is that always the focus? Not that I have anything against those companies, cause I like to play on all consoles, but you can have the greatest graphics in the universe, and the game could still end up being terrible. I am not going to lie though, I can't wait to finally see a Nintedo console that has HD capability, but I am more concerned about the games, especially with regards to the new control scheme, and how the interaction turns out.
Sad news, they were one of the best developers during the 8-bit and 16-bit eras. They always had a different style to their games, and you could usually tell it was a Hudson-soft game. Well, all I can do is hope that Konami takes the license to produce new games, based on those from Hudson. I mean seriously, I cannot live in a world with no Bomberman, and all the other great games they produced in the past. Sure, I am not going to jump off a bridge, but I hope the legacy of their games does not disappear.
I think this is kind of a letdown, and I am not sure why the system cannot do it, it certainly sounds powerful enough. I mean, playing N64 games on the VirtualConsole look much better than they did on the original system, and that is just the Wii. I don't plan on re-buying games just to get HD out of old games either. I love the whole concept of backwards compatibility, but now it seems these days that feature is taking a backseat. Ah well, the decision to get a Wii-U or not will not hinge on this for me, although it is a setback. Mario Galaxy HD, never gonna happen. Except for those who have a powerful enough PC to play it using, um, other means that we can't discuss here. It's probly not going to stop the console from being a success, but it would certainly be a very nice feature to have as an added bonus. Then again, it could be good news, it may be a decision to try to keep costs down. Not only for them, but for the consumers. Kind of like why Sony had to take out the PS2 chips from the PS3, and the 360 uses emulation. Sure it kinda sucks, but it helps make things affordable all around, and at least it will still play Wii games, just not in HD.
The gameplay looked like it could have been fun, but yeah, those graphics really are horrible. The 3D models of those zombies look like something from the 32-bit era. I would probly have to be an actual zombie to enjoy it.
I have to open my yapper and say that if I could include one thing into the console that doesn't appear to be part of it, is being able to play Wii games in HD. I mean, I can play classic X-Box games on the 360 in 720p, why can't the Wii-U support classic Wii games in the same way? I know it's not that important next to everything else, but I would love to play Mario Galaxy parts one and two in HD, that would be amazing.
Oh man, I miss the original Carmen game from when I was a kid, playing on the pc in elementary school...why can't they bring that one back? That, and Oregon Trail, those were some good times.
Probly just a conversion of Skyward Sword for the Wii-U. You know, like Twilight Princess was on the Gamecube and the Wii. Then again, maybe something new? Wait and see...
Also, I wonder what part of the timeline this new game will fit into? LOL!
I remember Nintendo saying that the Wii-U in its current form could change before release. So did they know in advance that this was going to happen later this year? Maybe they are holding back, and their final product will be even better than what was first shown, and even if it's only minor changes in the design of the console itself, I would not be worried, since we know (as has been proven time and again) gameplay will usually take precedent over raw graphical power. Of course I would be a liar if I said I didn't want to see what Microsoft and Sony have to offer, since I am a gamer of not just any single console, or platform, I like to have a varied experience, and not get caught up in fanboy/girl flame wars, but I hope they don't simply try to rip-off the Wii-U setup either. Although this sounds all good and well, from a certain point, I am a little worried about things getting rushed. The Wii is dated in terms of tech, but yet it has changed the game industry in ways that I thought sounded crazy when I first heard about it, but then experienced, and the gaming world is a different place today. Why does the Wii, which has made such a huge impact in the gaming world, get pushed aside? I want more Wii stuff, you hear me Nintendo!? Oh, and Merry Christmas everyone!
That just sounds strange to me. Are they hurting that much for people to go to a museum? I mean, I am all for the 3DS no matter what, but in an art museum? According to what I have read, it's the most visited art museum in the whole world...hmmm...I see, they want the art folks to get in on the action too, eh? Ah well, whatever, power to the people, er, I mean the 3DS!
