I can't help but wonder if Nintendo, knowingly or not, is starting a new trend for conveying gaming news as a whole. Who knows, maybe in a few years the Big Three may drop the big stage show tradition all together and just do (company name here) Directs.

WingedFish commented on Talking Point: The Wii U's Identity Crisis:

The way I see it, things are stagnant now, but will (hopefully) pick up once the games that everyone knows and loves start coming out; because I believe Nintendo hasn't really started advertising properly beyond the generic features (though granted they should have been doing a better job in that regard from the get-go) because there really isn't any attention grabbing games per se to advertize yet. Especially when you put into account the fact that several games that were supposed to be launch and/launch window titles have since been pushed back considerably or are just all around not ready yet.

WingedFish commented on Nintendo Told Disney How Bowser Should Hold Hi...:

Funny how Nintendo (albeit politely) tells how Bowser should hold a tea cup now, but a few decades back they didn't make a big deal over the fact that Bowser was a freaking human in the deplorable (to put it nicely) Mario movie. Unless they did and I never knew, since that was all before my time mind you. In any case I guess things were different back then.

@grimbldoo What happened in the deleted scenes? :o

WingedFish commented on Feature: The Nintendo Easter Egg Hunt:

Pikmin 2 has numerous Easter Eggs. As treasures, there is a Game & Watch handheld system, gyro blocks from Gyromite, R.O.B.'s head, plus many real world items like Duracell batteries and a Vlasic pickle jar lid for a couple examples.

Oh look, yet another awesome item that will never go outside Japan. I've gotten used to it by this point. I may not have an XL (as of yet), but my regular 3DS has a Power Pak+ on it, so I can't use the cradle anyway since it won't fit.

WingedFish commented on New Research Claims Wii U Success Hinges On A ...:

I will be very, very surprised if either Sony or Microsoft's upcoming consoles end up being priced below/at $400-$350 respectively. With all the specs they're talking about, the price is going to be the same as last time at best. Not to mention the rumored possibility of being unable to play used games on them, which certainly wouldn't help matters.

WingedFish commented on Best Buy Employee On A Mission To Save R.O.B.:

At least we know there will be at least one R.O.B. left in the distant future, after mankind mysteriously disappears, to be found by tiny humanoid aliens leading a group of mobile plant creatures.

Overcome by a heavy sense of nostalgia, the aliens will name their find, "Remembered Old Buddy."

Whoever gets the reference receives a virtual cookie.

WingedFish commented on Sakurai: Online Play Will Be Improved in Upcom...:

It seems like Brawl was made just before Nintendo starting getting a good feel for simultaneous online play, since Mario Kart Wii, which came out not too long after Brawl, had perfectly fine internet connection. That's my opinion anyway.
