Never have and probably never will buy an indie/third party game on a Nintendo platform so nothing for me

Some sales on virtual console games over summer would be nice, I bought most NES/SNES on release but I could be tempted by a dozen or so N64/GBA/Wii games if they were discounted.

I own a Wii U and it's a great machine with some great games but games are the problem there's just not enough of them out or on the horizon. In my opinion Wii U needs more variety like F-Zero, Paper Mario and Luigi's Mansion. Nintendo probably do have those things in the pipeline but leaving all the announcements to the E3 immediately preceding release is a killer for the system in this age of internet hype and excitement.

TsundokuBoy commented on Review: Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island ...:

I've nothing against GBA games and I'll be first in-line for Minish Cap but Yoshi's Island is probably my all-time favourite game and, since I own a boxed PAL copy for Super Nintendo, Virtual Console needs to go SNES or go home. I suspect we'll never see the SNES version, at least not on Wii U, though.

Nothing for me this week although I will pick up Child of Light on Xbox Live since I have friends with Xbox 360s who'll be playing it and I find achievements usually add a lot of replayability to games like this.

Mario Golf looks quite good, yet another strong case for me to buy a 3DS (well, 3DS XL) but I have quite a Wii U VC backlog and I'm still hoping Minish Cap and Mario vs. Donkey Kong will appear on Wii U VC to fill the gap between Mario Kart 8 and whatever Nintendo announce at E3 to see out the year.

Only NES Remix 2 for me, massively excited for Child of Light but as always with non-Nintendo titles I'll be buying that on Xbox Live. There's no game I want more than SNES Yoshi's Island on Virtual Console but I will continue to hold off the GBA version unless I run out of other things to play (still haven't touched Earthbound or LTTP).

@Grumblevolcano Yeah, I was just saying what I'd like to see since it see,ed fun and I never really played much of that franchise (will hopefully pick it up the GBA version on VC if a Wii U version doesn't happen).

Saying that though when they first announced the console itself at E3 they said what became New Super Mario U and a few parts of Nintendo Land were just tech demos/concepts.

Mario Kart 8 is the only thing that excites me on that list. Super Smash Bros. probably will when it comes out but that feels so far off I'm nowhere near hyped.

Hopefully at E3 we'll see some exciting surprises and more of Yarn Yoshi and the Mario vs. Donkey Kong tech demo that did the rounds a few weeks ago. Super Mario Galaxy HD is surely a no brainer at this point too...

TsundokuBoy commented on Video: What Could The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward...:

In a world where we don't have "Super Mario Galaxy HD", "Skyward Sword HD" or even the SNES version of Yoshi's Island on Virtual Console these conversations are pointless.

For my money three games I mention are first obvious stops on the "embracing the past train" I used to include Wind Waker HD and Earthbound on that list so I live in hope we'll see them. After that I really would much rather completely new games. Wii U versions of Mario vs. Donkey Kong, F-Zero, Luigi's Mansion and Animal Crossing would all be things I don't think would be commercially very risky (i.e. low budgets, guaranteed sales in the right release windows) and would please Nintendo fans no end.
