Awe man... I love this game. If there's any title I've played as much as I have with EarthBound this would be it. I really hope all of you who've never played this one before to give it a try, you don't exactly need to play through the SNES OB to get the full enjoyment here. Great storyline, HUGE game (you're gonna spend up to at least an hour on many of the missions, plus all the extra time it takes to customize and train your units) and a wonderful replay value - there's no possible way you'll do everything the first go 'round. Perhaps if this gets a great number of downloads, Square Enix would develop a new title for DS...?

FF IV!!! My personal fave from the series - I'd gladly take that over any of the newer ones, I must say.

^^ Nice!!! I won't be able to get the game until I get back from Mexico... I've got exactly 500 Wii points on my account so...
So it turns out I (and prolly nobody else) had no idea what Sunsoft's big announcement was for this week. But here it is... Sunsoft acquires entire Nihon Telenet software library, more VC games coming!!

^^ it's wonderful! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKno6qPQEJg
Area 3 was prolly my fave though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQv0GhjIn2Q&feature=related
So I've been readin on the NeoGAF forums and Vic says the upcoming press release on Friday has nothing to do with the recent Blaster Master announcement - and involves more than one title (and will make old Working Designs fans happy). He also stated there's going to be yet another press release the following friday in regards to furthering the revival of Sunsoft. He's also stating that players will have more incentive to beat Blaster Master this time around (as it was really hard), plus there will be cool promotional things available for those who buy the VC version...

Just sifting through the list of games they were involved with and there's some good ones for sure:
Aero the Acrobat 1 & 2 (SNES) - excellent action platformers
Albert Odyssey (SNES)
Arabian (Arcade)
Super Arabian (Famicom)
Batman (NES) - I sure hope this comes out, its one of my faves
Batman: Return of the Joker (NES)
Blaster Master (NES) - YESSSSSS!!!!!!! I love this game!
Blaster Master Boy (Game Boy)
Blaster Master 2 (Mega Drive)
Blaster Master: Enemy Below (Game Boy Color)
Bugs Bunny Rabbit Rampage (SNES)
Chameleon Twist 1 & 2 (N64) I only played the first one, but enjoyed it - a definite sleeper hit!
City Hunter (PC Engine)
Daffy Duck: The Marvin Missions (SNES)
Death and Return of Superman (SNES) - this is pretty much the only Superman game that's enjoyable (IMO) it was co-developed with Blizzard and is a level by level beat em up like Streets of Rage and Final Fight.
Fester's Quest (NES) - for those who like the top view parts of Blaster Master will enjoy this title.
Flashback (SNES) - Sunsoft published the title in Japan (US Gold elsewhere, which was acquired by Eidos in 1996, which is now owned by Square Enix so...)
Galaxy Fight: Universal Warriors (NEO-GEO)
Gremlins 2: The New Batch (NES)
Journey to Silius (AKA Raf World in Japan, NES) -AWESOME GAME!!!
Looney Tunes B-Ball (SNES)
Out Live (PC Engine)
Platoon (NES)
Super Spy Hunter (NES)
Tough Turf (Arcade, Sega also worked on the game) its pretty much a Double Dragon Clone
Waku Waku 7 (Neo-Geo) Fighting game
The Wing of Madoola (Famicom)
Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel (SNES/Mega Drive)

Why even review the game when Nintendo had me at 2D Mario for Wii. 2 player simultaneous Mario was something I had dreamed about around the SMB3/SMW era... 4 players?!?!? Mind blowing!!

Travenous commented on WinBack: Covert Operations:
Criminally underrated!! It had very similar controls to what became Resident Evil 4 actually, come to think of it, but with stealth added in. I had a blast with multiplayer too, though it wasn't as robust as some of the other titles out at that time. I rented it several times and beat it over and over and over. I never truly got bored of the game, and that's the kinda thing game developers want to hear from gamers. If Koei decides to release this on VC I'll definitely get it!!!

This game was one of my faves for the 64. You can tell graphics wise it was a 1st gen game for the system though, but the gameplay was well done, IMO. I loved that damn jetpack lol! All games should have them.

Fighter Hayabusa gets no respect. That's cause nobody uses his finishing move properly. To master the back brain kick is key to victory. A winner is you!

I don't care what AVGN says this game is fun! But 2,3 and especially 4 are better!

Travenous commented on River City Ransom:
Who knows how much money I've spent on peppered beef in this game lol!
Game still holds up, but I prefer the GBA remake as it has a solid framerate, more moves, plus you can form your own gang and after you beat the game once you can buy an item which allows you to create your own character. If you have a GBA find it!!

Travenous commented on Mega Man 2:
Metal Man
Wood Man
Air Man
Crash Man
Flash Man
Quick Man
Bubble Man
Heat Man
That's the order I like to off the bosses, how bout all of you?

Hell yeah, Pepe!!
Hit the pass!! Hit the pass!! Hit the-hit the-hit the pass!!!I still think the NHL should take the rule from this game - the loser of a fight gets the penalty only lol!

Travenous commented on Bases Loaded:
Man there's tons of great baseball games that could come to VC. I wonder if Nintendo will release Ken Griffey Jr presents major league baseball. Commodore 64 had Hardball! I had a blast with that game and another sports title from the same developer (4th & Inches) It's a pretty safe bet we'll never see RBI Baseball or Extra Innings though.
So instead let's get Super Baseball Simulator 1.000 and/or Base Wars

Travenous commented on International Karate +:
Oops! Correction - that fist adventure game is called Fist II: the Legend continues. On side 1 it had the adventure and side 2 had the fighting game with the health points. Way of the exploding fist is like IK with the karate style rules

Travenous commented on International Karate +:
I had this game but it was released by a different publisher and was called Chop N' Drop lol! I spent many weekends with buds having tournaments. This game plays better than the original, and the original had a few clone games like Way of the Exploding Fist, though in the that one you had hit points so the matches were much longer. Also, Fist the Adventure needs to come out on VC, that would be excellent.

WHAT WHAT WHAT!?!?!?! Blaster Master!!!
got this game for my 7th birthday - I asked my dad for Kid Icarus, he searched everywhere but couldn't find it so he was told by some cashier to get this game for me, and I'm very glad he suggested it. Still some of the best game music around. The difficulty, as some others already pointed out, is quite high. You will die, and die often. This game was quite innovative for its time and I say it still holds up to this day.

This game is amazing. You will playing through missions till sunrise lol! So much to do, so many different unit possibilities. I have this game for N64, got it the day it was released, however, my N64 is far away from where I live these days so I'm downloading this for sure!
