@MasterWario I found them annoying until I realized you were supposed to crouch walk slowly to them until you were within cap throwing distance. Then it wasn't so bad.

I think the idea of the bird is a bad one but if I was able to reach the bird the first time, I could always get back to the same spot again for the moon.

But yeah I would have preferred the birds not be a thing.

@Tarvaax Odd. They give you hearts throughout the level and everything. What are you having issues with? A certain Capture's controls maybe?

Re: Should Fire Emblem Awakening & Fates get a Switch version?

TeeJay

Echoes actually had a (I think post game) chapter that went more in-depth on Awakening lore. If an Awakening port were to happen I'd like to see them interweave that stuff into the story. It would make it a much better story in a lot of fans' eyes I believe.

So how does the post-game difficulty of this game compare to other 3D Marios?

There are a good amount of moons that are tucked away behind some challenging mini-rooms/hatless rooms and the like.

As for the final "ultimate" challenge though, it's unfortunately WAY easier than 3D World's or Galaxy 2's. When I got to the "THANK YOU" screen I was like, "....Wait, that's it?" If you did the ultimate challenges in any of those other games it'll only take you a few tries to get this one down. Pretty disappointing...

@JaxonH I was working when you tagged me. Hopefully we can all do some hunts together while I'm on vacation from the 6th to the 12th, though!

@zionich Oh it was my room and I set a key, but friends could join without needing one. I'll add you! Jax had to go but we can still hunt together if you want. I'll leave the room open this time

What he said!

Okay, well Jax is being super formal as is the Jax way, but the chat is actually quite relaxed. We all just pal around and talk about games and life and stuff. It's neat.

Re: Hyrule Warriors - Marin from Link's Awakening announced / Legends characters coming to Wii U version this summer

TeeJay

I haven't made any progress at all in this game since Link to the Past released on 3DS VC. I'd never finished LttP so this is my first serious attempt in many years. It's as amazing as everyone says.

Good news is I'm almost done, so I'll get back into Hyrule Warriors shortly. I already got the Golden Master Sword and Silver Arrows and rescued all the maidens. I just have to defeat Ganon now.

Well, it's technically always the same Hyrule. It just looks different every time...

In the case of OoT>TP, most of the geography coincides, loosely, only some places are switched around for the sake of... Just because.

The lake hylia is in the same place, the desert is in the same place, the castle is in the same place, faron woods is where the Kokiri forest was, etc.

Well, if we're gonna be REALLY technical, it's not always the same Hyrule. Spirit Tracks takes place in a new land creatively named New Hyrule.

@DarthNocturnal That explanaition of Hyrule Field only confused me more, lol

Re: Hyrule Warriors - Marin from Link's Awakening announced / Legends characters coming to Wii U version this summer

TeeJay

I wouldn't have been able to notice the positioning of Hyrule Field. Honestly, Twilight Princess's environment looks so samey to me that's it's the only Zelda game I consistantly get lost in. Thank goodness for those portals.

Even now that I know it's supposed to be the same Hyrule Field from OoT, I can't see it. It's too drastically different...

EDIT: I take that back. I also got lost in Link's Awakening. It's the sole reason I never finished that game.

Re: Hyrule Warriors - Marin from Link's Awakening announced / Legends characters coming to Wii U version this summer

TeeJay

This is from the Zelda Wiki:

"From one of the portals, Cia began to sense a great power in the Era of Twilight. Intrigued, she set off to see whether it was be an ally that could be controlled, or an enemy to destroy. She traced its source to the Palace of Twilight, where Zant and Midna were both fighting. As Midna appears in her imp form, Cia had also transformed her sometime prior to the battle."

...So basically it's just a thing we're supposed to accept, lol

I like to believe that those universes Cia congured into existence (the places that held the soul of Ganondorf) were more or less just "pocket" versions of the actual universes.... Like, places and people who look the same and behave similarly, but "frozen in time" versions of them, not the actual real things.

Like, Midna is not the actual Midna from TP, just a projection/"photo" of her imp self reflected into Hyrule by the powers of Cia, when she brought the realm of Twilight.

Kinda like bigger, more interactive versions of the photos from the Harry Potter universe.

I dunno, I think that would cheapen the entire experience for me...

Re: Hyrule Warriors - Marin from Link's Awakening announced / Legends characters coming to Wii U version this summer

TeeJay

So I was just thinking about the first Twilight Princess chapter in Legends mode today at work, and I have some questions, because this is confusing me a bit.

1.) How does Agitha even know about the Twilight? Regular Hylians in Twilight Princess (presumably including Agitha) aren't even aware that they became spirits in the Twilight Realm. And

2.) This one is not as big but, why would Midna pay a random butterfly a second thought in that scenario, much less think that it's poisonous? Just seems like a forced reason for Midna and Agitha to interact that doesn't make too much sense.
