Great to hear that SEGA feels confident with Nintendo platforms once again. Things seem to have been pretty quiet since CRUSH3D, Shinobi and Sonic Generations failed to set the 3DS charts alight way back when.

Now, could we also see some more Virtual Console Game Gear games, SEGA?

Looking for secrets is what makes a platform game a platform game to me: I was quite shocked to read that kids these days don't know to poke about for secrets. I guess things have been dumbed-down to such an extent without me even noticing.

As for kids not knowing what DuckTales is: I'm totally not surprised. I'm twenty-nine now, and I haven't seen or heard of DuckTales re-airing since it was originally popular.

The same, unfortunately, applies to Darkwing Duck. Indeed, I've only revisited these two series myself in recent years by tracking down old episodes online.

Extremely pleased to hear this. Hopefully Nintendo is listening, too; you can have quality at a pocket money price. Gunman Clive is a worthy eShop title, and the cost seems appropriate for the length of the basic experience.

Positive feedback from people I know prompted me to download this, and I'm glad I did. It's pretty easy once you get the physics down, but it's simply a fun game to run through and it's a definite purchase for any speedrunners out there.

Fantastic to hear it's doing such great business in Japan.
I'd probably put this down to the time elapsed since the last Animal Crossing game and series establishment. Progression doesn't always equate to great sales, sadly; one of the reasons why we're knee-deep in New Super Mario Bros. games instead of wherever 3D Mario is set to take us.

Animal Crossing: Wild World exceeded everyone's expectations when it came to sales in the West, so I have pretty high hopes that New Leaf will go on to become an evergreen 3DS seller. Quirky concepts like Style Boutique are faring quite well here, for example.

Monster Tale for me. Yes, my Wii U is sitting upstairs, but my DS always seems to come first somehow.

Can't believe how long it's taken me to get round to play Monster Tale. It's been sitting on my shelf since it was released.

Stu_Dee_Jay commented on Review: Disney Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion ...:

I finished this game 100% yesterday.

I personally disagree about the difficulty. I waltzed through this, but then I did play it directly after finishing Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure; so I suppose anything's going to feel easy by comparison.

Despite the horrendous amount of backtracking required to see and do everything, I did have fun with this game. It is a typically beautiful looking and sounding game, as you would expect from DreamRift. Eleven unique levels and three boss battles is a bit disappointing, though. It would've been great to have seen their take on Simba's Pride Lands, or Alice's Wonderland and so on.

Power of Illusion is far from perfect (it is not the next Monster Tale), but if you enjoyed the demo and keep your expectations down, you'll probably have fun simply soaking up all the sprite-based Disney characters and locations.

@XXITheWorld We seem to be doing well with 3DS VC in Europe, but the original eShop releases need to kick up a gear. We're still waiting for Mutant Mudds, Sakura Samurai and VVVVVV!

Will be downloading this tomorrow. I've got through a ridiculous number of old Game Boy games lately that I could never afford as a child.

@James Dogs' eyes are positioned in the same way as ours, so I presume they have stereoscopic vision and therefore dept perception.

It's great to see a revered animal as a Nintendo poster child for once. Makes a change from all those unnervingly perfect people in the old Wii advertisements.

I'm a huge Nintendo fan, but I'm eagerly awaiting the postman's knock on Wednesday to receive my PS Vita.

As many have wisely stated already: competition drives excellence and innovation. It's in everyone's best interest that Vita and 3DS play to the strengths that make dedicated handheld gaming such a pleasure.

Stu_Dee_Jay commented on Review: Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 (Game Boy):

Not sure how developed his personality was in the first game, but in later titles, he's more of a greedy, selfish egotist who sets out for personal gain and ends up inadvertently doing good. It's an unusual concept for the values of a Nintendo character, but it sets up the quirky tone perfectly.

Stu_Dee_Jay commented on Review: Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 (Game Boy):

As a (stupid) child, I bought into the sequel and was disappointed that Mario Land 3 wasn't Mario at all.

Despite still owning the original cartridge, I intend to download this tomorrow and enjoy it like everyone else did back in the day. No hard feelings, Wario?
