SpaceKappa commented on Shigeru Miyamoto Awarded Prestigious Spanish P...:

That's awesome. I stand firm in the belief that NO ONE truly understands video games like Miyamoto. He sees them as more than just products to be sold. I feel like he's always seen past what video games are and instead focused on what they can be. There's a reason his creations are beloved the world over and games he created decades ago are still spoken of with such high regard. He simply IS video games.

SpaceKappa commented on Feature: Launching a Console Without Mario:

Super Mario 64 is the best launch game in the history of ever. Period.

I'd absolutely LOVE for there to be a Mario game of that scale launched with Wii U, but I'm not holding my breath.

This is right up my alley. I'm such a sucker for all this over-the-top anime crap. I'll be checking out the 3DS and PS3 versions together!

SpaceKappa commented on Talking Point: DS Games Deserve Digital Distri...:

Great article, Tom!

I think it'd be a neat feature, although I wouldn't take advantage of it. I hate how DS games look on the 3DS, all smeared and smudged on the larger, higher resolution screen. Sure, I can hold start and select to run them at the proper aspect ratio so they look sharp as a tack, but then I've got all that wasted real estate. I still have my DSi (as I never get rid of systems) so regular DS games will always be played on their native system.

However! I'm a picky guy, and not everyone has a weird brain like me. I think that if they did add DS titles to the Virtual Console it'd be very, very successful. A lot of people either skipped the DS or had a lost/broken one that was never replaced, and this would be a good way for them to catch up on a massive library.

SpaceKappa commented on Talking Point: What Games Are You Playing This...:

I'm with you Tom, Epic Mickey for me. Started it a while ago, never got around to finishing it. There's a lot of love that went into making that game, and that makes it more fun to play.

Other than that, just my Minecraft server with my wife and friends!

SpaceKappa commented on Cloudberry Kingdom Will Be Wii U's Most Diffic...:

Wow, that looks deliciously painful, I can't wait to play it. I missed Super Meat Boy, so this will be my first go-round with such a difficult platformer. I love the simplistic art style, which I think goes well with the style of game it is. I'm definitely excited for this now.

SpaceKappa commented on Dragon Quest X Wii Lands in Japan on 2nd August:

I'm definitely interested. The world and character designs are simply gorgeous (but what else would you expect from Toriyama?) and I can't wait to see more. Still holding out for Wii U info, though. That's the version I'll be picking up.

I saw this while I was picking up Avengers vs X-Men yesterday, it looked AMAZING. I have a couple of the UDON books already (Mega Man Complete Works, Street Fighter Tribute) and they're wonderful products. I hope to add this to my coffee table soon!

SpaceKappa commented on Get Your Pokémon Sequels Teaser Trailer Here:

That's what I was thinking as well. Combining the third version with the remakes is actually kind of a rad idea.

I'm dying for some new information, though, not just a trailer that pans over the still images they've already released. I NEED MY FIX NINTENDO

SpaceKappa commented on Pokémon Black & White Version 2 Announced:

@Hejiru

Easy there buddy! We're working on corrections. You can forgive us for the confusion; getting secondhand reports from both a Japanese television show and a Japanese Twitter account leaves plenty of room for wires to be crossed and things to be misinterpreted. Rest assured spreading inaccurate information is never our goal, and we'll be aiming to fix whatever needs fixin'. :)

SpaceKappa commented on Turn Your Retro Cartridges Into ROMS, Legally:

Putting aside the legality, this looks like a slick device. I love the actual design of it and while I prefer to play games on my couch rather than at a computer, this would be fun to just plug into my laptop when my wife has dibs on the TV.

SpaceKappa commented on Aonuma: "We'll See" About Zelda Voice Acting:

What I find interesting is the most vocal complainers about Link not speaking are people who don't even play Zelda. An acquaintance of mine HATES Nintendo but he keeps insisting that Link needs to talk. I don't really know why it matters to him.

I, personally, feel that there's more than enough emotion and personality in the little grunts and exclamations of the characters that we don't need voice acting. It would just seem so ODD with full voice overs at this point.

SpaceKappa commented on Rumour: Xenoblade Chronicles North America-Bound:

I spent a good chunk of time in the trenches at GameStop, and I can verify that is indeed what their computer system looks like. On the surface it looks legit. A word being added to a title, like "Fever" to Rhythm Heaven isn't enough for them to change the listing most of the time.

If this IS true, though, it means that all my ritualistic sacrifices to the RPG Gods paid off. You're welcome, everyone!

SpaceKappa commented on Peter Moore Bigs Up Wii U's Online Functions A...:

@WarthoggerPete About a week or so ago, lots of sites were reporting a rumor that Valve and EA were both attempting to woo Nintendo into integrating their respective digital distribution platforms into Wii U's online functionality. It just struck me as fishy when a few days later the CEO of EA comes out praising Wii U's online plans.
