SlyRax commented on EU VC Update: ClayFighter and Sonic Chaos:
first, really?
well, unfortunately they decided against the slightly superior snes-version of clay fighter. mediocre week at best i would say.
edit: oh, boy - i'm way to slow for this "first"-business

SlyRax commented on Ten Games We'd Like To See On The Virtual Cons...:
really nice list and the most games I see missing were already mentioned by other users here, think of super punch out, illusion of time or soul blazer.
what i am seriously missing nevertheless is for instance parodius. i loved that game back in snes-times. tiger heli would be another game i'd love to play again.

SlyRax commented on Talking Point: Is the Virtual Console On The S...:
okay, one reason less why there should be an obstacle in putting titles online. so the question remains why profit-oriented companies don't put their whole back catalogue online if there's nothing to lose.

SlyRax commented on Talking Point: Is the Virtual Console On The S...:
i don't know what's involved. the emulators are a one-time effort, retrieving the code can't be much work and putting it online should at maximum require to pay a fee to nintendo.
BUT: in the end all these companies are revenue-oriented and there has to be some reason why virtual console doesn't pay off for hudson. else they would just blow their whole arsenal online in one instant.

@ Ness (#91): "Maybe because they earn money?"
Obviously not enough for the efforts involved, if for instance Hudson decides to switch to WiiWare where its titles fair very well.

SlyRax commented on Talking Point: Is the Virtual Console On The S...:
@bass x0: good question, but the point seems to be as well that it doesn't make that big a difference. if you look at the download charts, even top non-nintendo-titles don't fair too well in terms of sales.

I think a major problem with the Virtual Console is the total sales and charts domination of Mario-Titles and other Nintendo-franchises like Donkey Kong or Zelda.
Other titles don't seem to be received to well by the VC-audience in terms of sales. So why should Sega, Hudson or whoever bother and continue publishing titles that afficionados like us would love to see but which ultimately fail to make an impact in sales figures?
