The Wii U NES VC is terrible. Blurry, dark and lags on the gamepad. Seriously, on the gamepad! They may have done this to compensate for laggy TVs, but I run things in gaming mode and the TV update is ahead of the gamepad. The SNES is perfect, so why so much trouble on NES?

Makes me feel a little upset....

@Xenocity Wow, never noticed that! I actually had it preordered, but chose to pass on it for a while after renting.

Captain Toad is on my bucket list. There are so many good games that I am in no rush. The great thing about a gaming console is those games will never go bad (until the servers go down, that is).

Not much time to type here, but I've had the Wii U since launch and love the gamepad. Bought an Xbone earlier this year, and while it has many thing I would improve, adding off TV play would be my first priority. And for those asking, playing over WiFi on the Surface Pro 4 is not the same.

The expanded field of view and brighter lighting take away from the claustrophobic feel, but I like that they added new melee weapons. It's interesting that they removed the local multiplayer as Watch_Dogs implements the King of Zombies mode as mobile challenge, incorporating smart phones and tablets as player two.

@AugustusOxy When you say "[Youtube] has also made me realize 'this isn't my kind of game' and has prevented sales too," You're expressing that Nintendo would rather sell people a game they don't like than make informed purchasing decisions? You may be right about that, but it's a sad, cynical statement.

@FLUX_CAPACITOR One thing to take into account is the advanced lighting, shadow, and particle effects. Not to mention rendering a few large items, such as in Mario Kart8, is easier than rendering many smaller items, like Diablo III, which ran poorly on Xbone/PS4 until a patch. Speaking of Mario Kart, Nintendo has a way of programing for their own hardware in a way third parties, especially indies, are not as successful with.

I would expect Frozenbyte will be able to run this game on Wii U with scaled down resolution and shaders/effects.

@AVahne, don't forget Metal Gear Solid V: Phantom Pain, Street Fighter V, Tekken 7. I am super pumped for all of those, although I'll have to wait longer for an Xbone iteration of Street Fighter...

[EDIT] Corrected Ground Zeroes to Phantom Pain.

It looks great. The controls are spongy in Trine 2, and that looks like it will be the case here judging by the jumps into the wall. As far as I'm concerned, this is a must buy no matter what systems it arrives on.

I've already spent over $400 dollars on Smash, over $600 if you include amiibo. I don't mind spending $6 more on these awesome costumes.

Edit: FYI: Got 1 Wii u copy, 4 3DS copies, 2 White Smash Gamecube Controllers, GC adapter, and 2 additional Pro controllers. Around 15 amiibo, mostly at retail price.

Excellent! I've been a squeaky wheel on this for some time. Have let the game rest while we've been waiting. Despite its less than tight controls, muttering frame rate, and level pacing issues, this is a great time waster and challenge.

Regarding Wave 2: on November 8th I preordered Luigi, Zelda, Diddy Kong, and Captain Falcon, but online and in town. Every pre-order is marked as canceled or delayed till January 15th. I found Zelda on the shelf at another store in town.

@SKTTR I understand where you're coming from. My experience with Nintendo is that it takes them YEARS to drop the price on their big games, so I usually just buy them at launch. I'll splurge from time to time, like with Bayonetta 2, but just expect to budget for first party Nintendo games.
