Shortay commented on Conduit Release Date Slips in EU:

@PhillepinO: "I only care for the gameplay (which it excels in) and the robust online multiplayer" - I assume you've played the game to make a comment like that then. In that case, how are the multiplayer modes, especially the free for all ones? If the online's good I may consider this. Also, what makes the gameplay so good? The motion controls, or is the level design just really good?

Meh, I might have cared more if the game looked less generic and samey. I was really looking forward to it until I saw a substantial amount of media on it and now I probably won't even buy it.

Shortay commented on Review: Art Style: PiCTOBiTS (DSiWare):

These Art Style titles are still the only DSiWare games that interest me, so I'll need more incentive than that before investing in a DSi. I'd love to try the Art Style games though all the same.

Shortay commented on Nintendo Download: Swords & Soldiers, Pitfall ...:

Looks pretty darn good I must say, and when I check out the review here I'll definitely consider downloading it.

By the way, Daemon Hatfield just commented on his review on IGN and said "look for it monday", so that and the fact that the review was written by a North American makes it very likely that you guys will be seeing it in NA then. :)

Shortay commented on Modern Warfare 2 Wii-bound?:

I hope it does come to the Wii for those who only own that console, but I'll be very surprised if it's the superior version as the focus in the latest Call of Duty games has been online play. Friend codes? No thanks.

That would be awesome. Hopefully it's true; SIlver is by far the best entry in the series, in my opinion, and I'd love to play a graphically-enhanced version with more features.

Brill review James. Got this today based on your review and the multitude of other high scores it's gotten, and it really is fantastic. Granted, I'm only an hour or so in but it's just so charming and full of life.

@Nanaki: Thanks! :)

@Adam: By 6 players I did mean the actual board game. Sadly with the Wii version only up to 4 players can take part at one time, either by passing the remote around or with separate ones.

Quantity of questions is actually a strong point - I barely (if ever) came across the same questions twice. They're really diverse too.

Shortay commented on Sony: PSP is Better Than The DSi:

I much prefer the PSP over the DS. It may have a smaller gaming library but the games it does have are fantastic while many DS titles are shovelware.

@KnucklesSonic8: 6 players (including yourself) can take part in games online. :)

@tkubas1: Firstly, I did not say that I wanted the developer to "change" the game once in my review. I was disappointed that the game didn't try to innovate at all and I felt that extra features could have been added during games of texas hold'em, for example a better interaction with other players (especially online opponents) or even something as simple as a wider range of customisation. There's a difference between what I said and what you claim. You're of course entitled to your own opinion, but how can you say it "realy deserves a 6-7 rating" when you've never played it?

Shortay commented on Review: Texas Hold'em Tournament (WiiWare):

Good shout Adamant, that's pretty much what I meant to put across with the review. Reading into the score too much is evident in a lot of these comments, but a '5/10' means average on this site. Even then, if the game got a 3 or 4 that doesn't mean that it's a bad game.

The point of a review (well my reviews anyway) is to give a potential buyer some information on different aspects of a game, weigh up the good and bad points and to offer some opinion. Please don't immediately dismiss this game because it's not an 8+/10. Obviously this kind of game won't be for everybody, but your enjoyment of it will depend on how much you enjoy sims of poker, and even then newcomers could really like it too. It doesn't do anything extraodrinary or anything really bad, which is why I gave it a 5/10 - to me it's average.

PS: Thanks for the kind words guys. :)

Thanks for the positive feedback everyone; it wasn't easy or particularly pleasant reviewing this one, but I really appreciate some kind words. :)

@Digiki: Yeah, it's definitely not a bad game, just slightly below average because of the several flaws I mentioned in the review. Big fans of the toy shouldn't hesitate in downloading it anyway since the WiiWare version is so similar to it - they just shouldn't expect much at all apart from that nostalgia.

I was hoping that Hudson would pull it out of the bag again for this one, but it seems it's not so. Still, I may try it sometime.

Great review Paul :)

Pretty disappointing update, I was hoping for more than one game at least. First (and very early) impressions of Lonpos: addictive, but very bland and overpriced.

Got this a few days ago and it's brilliant, probably my most worthwhile WiiWare game yet.

Also, I didn't really read your review of World of Goo till now Corbie, but well done. It's a fantastic review. :)
