I'm very optimistic about the anniversary title. I've been a Sonic fan for as long as I can remember, and while he may not have the most perfect track-record of titles under his belt, he still manages to come through every so often and remind us fan why we like him in the first place.

I believe Sega has something special in store for us!

Fusion both introduced me to the series and made me a fan back when it came out! Not one of my top-favorite Metroids, but its a fantastic one to start out with!

I'm in the camp that I prefer knowing where to go next; I don't find it very enjoyable to aimlessly wander around the humongous areas to find my way. Plus its not like it takes away the exploration aspect either. You still discover hidden items, rooms, power-ups, etc.

I'm strangely fine with Corri, despite my past gripes with so many FE reps added; mainly due to the fact Corrin doesn't fight exclusively with a sword. Bayonetta I really don't care for her games but whatever; at least it wasn't someone like Shantae.

I think in hindsight Cloud should've been revealed last to just go out on a crazy high note.

Rouge Leader and Rebel Strike still remain the go-to games for my Star Wars fix. (Bounty Hunter is crazy fun too) I also think the graphics still hold up amazingly well, not to mention the actual gameplay.

I hope the series gets re-released someday on perhaps the NX. It deserves to be played by future gamers and SW fans alike. I'm off to relive the movies without paying for DLC. Eat your heart out Battlefront!

@Vriess I can relate.

Wii U and 3DS just haven't had an appeal to me lately. I've had a both since since 2012 or so, and I've only bought 5 Wii U games; 3DS only 4. I've been more into getting games from Wii and GC's libraries that I missed out on, or needed to rebuy due to a younger-self stupidly trading them in.

But yeah, Nintendo needs to get back on track with everything. Stop relying on the same handful of IPs constantly, (Mario, Zelda, Pokémon) and really try to appeal to the older crowd with more than just nostalgia.

I'm just happy to know what's going down for the next few months after all this uncertainty following E3. Nintendo always knows how to hype fans up with a new Direct, one way or another.

@Hendesu Your icon certainly matches the nature of your post. Might I suggest some fresh air?

I never got into the Pokemon craze. (I prefer Digimon) After playing the game's demo, this looks and feels like a fun and creative title. It really drew me in with the unique combat system and very adorable designs for the Yokai. I'm seriously considering to pick this up!

Very cool overall! The actress wasn't quite there but the visuals were quite amazing! I really liked how her suit was designed to realistically fit a human being (the way the suit's arms connected to the body were always pretty wonky.)

Senate_Guard commented on Feature: Why We're Still Playing... Super Metroid:

I never got into Super; this coming from a huge Metroid fanatic. It was the last entry I got to playing 7 or so years ago on VC. By then I'd already played the Prime games and the GBA ones. I appreciate the bar it set for the series, but if you ask me better things have been done with Metroid since its release. Prime 3 is still my personal favorite!

Retro delivered amazingly with the Prime Trilogy. Corruption is still one of my favorite games of all time! Its great they want to expand their creativity and make something new instead of being typecast to certain IPs. I just hope a new true Metroid is not too far off...

At this point, any SW game for a Nintendo console would be great news to hear. But the fact it could be a Darth Maul one with cues taken from the Arkham series would be that much sweeter!

I hope it's revival is successful though, there's no way it could hurt the brand like EA's "Battlefield: Star Wars Edition."

@vincentgoodwin Thanks for the tips! I may start playing 3.0 when it goes down that low then!

@TheEAB Yeah, my mistake. I checked on Amazon and saw that the OT play set is just an add-on. I though both it and the Clone Wars were legit separate starter sets. I'd really freak if it was $140 for both!

Senate_Guard commented on Review: Disney Infinity 3.0 (Wii U):

I've considered diving into DI with 3.0 (mainly due to being a SW nut) but it just seems like a huge investment. I think it was a bit underhanded to separate the OT and Clone Wars stories to their own packs. Why not have them together? Why do I have to shell out $140 to have both? There are fans out there who like both eras, contrary to popular belief.

Oh how I miss game manuals. I've had a similar source of artistic inspiration with them when I was a young'un; except they were GBA and Gamecube ones. All the Mario, Metroid, and Sonic games from back then had fantastic artwork in their manuals!

Senate_Guard commented on Don't Worry, Samus Will Be In Metroid Prime: F...:

@allav866 I agree with F-Zero fans being worse off. But the sad fact is that Nintendo doesn't seem to think its worth bringing back. Hopefully that will change in the future, as I'm a fan as well.

The main reason why I compare fans is because during the days after E3, I saw so many people belittling Metroid fans who were upset about FF. People saying offhand things like "deal with it", "stop whining", "at least you're getting something", etc. Meanwhile new Mario and Zelda games were revealed with positive reception.

Why are Metroid fans suddenly being perceived as bottom feeders who should be grateful for anything, when not too long ago we had gotten a trilogy of some of the best games in the past decade? That's what I'd like to know.

Metroid has been apart of the "big three" forever; pioneering gaming and setting standards in the industry. Its seems that it could slowly be veering off into the territory of dormant franchises like F-Zero.

Metroid deserves better than that, all the well-known franchises deserve better than that.

Senate_Guard commented on Don't Worry, Samus Will Be In Metroid Prime: F...:

@allav866 Well again, Metroid's status as been unstable since 2010. Most just want to see a return to form sooner rather than later.

Spin-offs are fine, but we need another main series entry that wasn't released 5 years ago to compliment it. Something like Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland wasn't released after 5 years of nothing.

I'll give you the petition, that's going too far. But let me ask you this: how many Zelda games (CD-i ones notwithstanding) have been considered "bad", or at least on the same level of mixed opinions like Other M?

Zelda fans have it pretty good from what I see.

Senate_Guard commented on Don't Worry, Samus Will Be In Metroid Prime: F...:

@LztheQuack Fine, every other year. That's still miles better than:

2010: Metroid Other M
2011: none
2012: none
2013: none
2014: none
2015: none
2016: Metroid Prime Federation Force

Getting games released at a steady rate is better than nothing at all. Remakes can be great for people who want to experience them again, or for the first time. We could've easily gotten a Metroid II remake, or a collection of the 2D games within that time span. It surely would've satisfied a good portion of fans.

Senate_Guard commented on Don't Worry, Samus Will Be In Metroid Prime: F...:

@allav866 Nah man, Zelda fans can be worse. Much, much worse.

Metroid fans haven't had the best of times for the past 5 years. Other M wasn't exactly a stellar entry, cancelled games like Dread and the untitled 3DS game have been dug up, and now the wildcard that is Federation Force is, as far as we know, all that's coming in 2016 with the Metroid name. Can you blame the fans?

Meanwhile Zelda fans flourish in multiple titles every year; something that just started happening in recent years, yet still aren't satisfied...
