Yeah Ray had some of the tracks available on his site, but this is a more complete collection of the music he made for us. We thought it might be good promotion to get a few more sales out of the game, and to give Ray's great work some more exposure. Any WiiWare devs out there looking to hire a composer, contact Raymond Gramke.
No NOE release, sorry guys. Really wish we could but it's beyond our means. We have a little 99 cent iphone game coming out next week which we'll have a site up for on launch day (the 15th), but yes there won't be any more games from Semnat Studios, though I am personally still pursuing projects.
Djungelurban - I'm not sure we can just go for one rating at a time. I believe it's everything at once, everything under NOE. But we're in the process of getting it done, it's just a matter of when we can afford to pay for everything. We might set up a public wiki to get the multiple translations worked on like some other developers have done. That would certainly bring down some costs.
Wiiloveit- Crazy, ain't it? 250 US for PSP Go, 250 Euro for it... yikes. All of the game companies do this. But at least it's not as bad as it used to be now that the dollar is weaker, hah.
For all of you non-North American residents: We're working on getting it out there. The problem is the cost. PEGI is now relatively cheap, but there are at least two other very expensive ratings we have to get for a European release (which is sooooo dumb. come on, EU!), plus translations in several languages for the manual and such. It actually almost doubles the budget for our game. If we make enough dough from Eduardo in these two weeks of June we'll be able to afford all of this much quicker.
Believe me, I understand the woes of being a European gamer sometimes. I lived in Croatia for a number of years and had like three games total for my N64 since they were so expensive (even at the Media Markt in Austria). I played the heck out of Banjo and Goldeneye, I'll tell you that much... And HOPEFULLY we can get the price to match the NA one. Nothing is more annoying than the $1 = €1 thing videogame companies do.
That would be a bad thing indeed! And I agree that shovelware is harmful to the industry. But we're definitely not making shovelware, that I can assure you. Maybe you won't like the game but we've tried very, very hard to make a game that we can be proud of.
We don't have a score system. It just didn't feel like it added anything to the game, and merely cluttered the screen. We made a decision early on in development to take out anything from the game that didn't enhance the experience. I know that score systems and experience points and so on can be cheap and effective tools for a designer and can tap into that element of ocd that we experience when we play games, but when you strip those elements away what's left? The fundamental gameplay has to stand on its own without the aid of what I personally believe are often crutches (there are of course exceptions!). And we wanted people to want to play the game because it was just plain fun to pick up the controller and enjoy their time with our title.
But maybe I'm wrong. If this becomes something that people feel very strongly about after playing it, and if enough people would like to see a sequel, we could consider adding in such a feature to a future Eduardo. We use our best judgment, but fan reaction will certainly inform our future decisions.
Haha, wow. Making fun of old games? That would be a pretty big waste of four years, I can tell you that much. I can assure you, sir, there's no making fun of any game whatsoever going on here. No more than Uncharted is trying to make fun of Tomb Raider or Splinter Cell was making fun of Metal Gear, etc.
But I learned long ago that is is futile to try and dissuade such strong blind hatred, but hopefully people will give us a chance and judge the game more fairly for themselves once it comes out. Not everyone will like it, but a fair shake is all I ask for. And if you do end up hating it, criticism is always welcome and even helpful! All I can promise is that we've tried our best and that we really are proud of our game.
ness - There will be a number of difficulty options. Don't worry, it can be very, very tough if you want it that way. Or very easy.
Bahamut ZERO - No leaderboards, sorry. We're relying on the game being fun for replay value. Drop-in multiplayer certainly takes care of the replay factor. But I'll let you guys be the judge!
LegendofPasta99 - Yeah, facial expressions is one thing we had to drop due to time. Too much work for something that nobody is going to be noticing when they're playing the game. It's only noticable when watching someone else play.
Bahamut ZERO - It's comparable in length to other games in its genre. But since we're an unknown company we're going to try to go for a low price point so that more people give us a chance.
Sorry for the video quality! Youtube isn't kind to already-poor footage. Apparently it's impossible to capture 480p footage, so we had to take it in 480i.
zoipi - It's hard if you want it to be. There's an easy mode as well. I personally prefer it very tough, but of course I've been playing it for quite some time.
Yeah true, that would be tough in places where the government rates media content.
The ESRB price was relatively cheap for us. You should see how much PEGI alone costs. We literally have no money at the moment to get those other ratings.

My friend won't stop bugging me about why the Samurais arent using actual swords. Can we get a response to that?"
Haha, yeah. I'll just respond with something nerdy like how the bushido code is what made the samurai a samurai, not just their sword. Or that toasters can't hold things very well. Yeah that's probably the better answer.
Thanks for the kind words (and criticisms) everyone. It's a nice surprise that people are taking notice of our little game.
Wiiloveit - Purely bad timing. We expected to send out a press release earlier, before the game would show on up the ESRB list. There was a slight delay and then the holidays came. We'll make the announcement shortly.

I'll be looking forward to hearing feedback on the game. Hopefully it's mostly positive with some criticism to help us make better games. We'll see!
