Greninja is the best pokemon after Lucario. Seriously. I was surprised and glad to see him in this game. Who needs legendaries when you have a frog ninja?

Also, I am thoroughly satisfied with Yoshi's inclusion. I've been maining him since the 64 days.

Royalblues commented on Nintendo Shows Off Upcoming Golden Sun and F-Z...:

Nintendo is... I don't know if I would describe this sort of move as clever, but whatever it is, I don't like it.
Despite the fact that the Nintendo 3DS is wholly capable of emulating and playing Game Boy Advance games, they have excluded them on the 3DS because they think a game like Golden Sun and what have you other GBA games will help sell some Wii-U's.

Clever and stupid at the same time.
Needless to say, as much as I love Golden Sun, I will play it again on my GBA when that time comes, and neither that game nor any other GBA title will sell me a Wii-U.

However, once smash comes out, oh boy...

Royalblues commented on "Dark And Edgy" Sonic The Hedgehog Film Report...:

Jeez, why? These guys should understand that Sonic at his best caters to younger audiences. If you make Sonic a serious character, and put him in serious predicaments, you are destined to fail. This could be one of the final nails in his coffins, if his fanbase wasn't so rabid.

What they should do is make it a kid movie, but pepper some adult humor in there if they have too.

I haven't read the whole interview yet, but I feel the need to type this before I continue. Respect to the guy for representing for the Bronx!!!
I know exactly what arcades he's talking about when he mentioned White Planes Road and 242nd street and the one that was on Allerton. Maybe he was the one that kicked my but in Marvel 1 all those years ago lol. I might have met him without knowing who he was. Kudos to the man.
Shame you can't find an arcade in the BX any more.

@DeathlyDarkness Aww man. If 'twerk' is in the dictionary, then we do live in a sad world. One more thing before I go. If moving your fingers qualifies as an athletic sport(granted, there is some hand-eye coordination to consider) then TV stations should televise and sponsor competitive dishwashing, since there are many factors and patterns to consider when washing dishes.
Hell, I'd watch it, probably. No, I wouldn't.
Either way, that would be insulting to Boxers, Basketball players, Football players (American Football), wrestlers, and other athletes who've injured themselves beyond the point of return to gave a PC gamer with carpal tunnel syndrome walk up to him or her and say that he was an athlete. There is real risk to that stuff.

I feel strongly about video games too, but never in my right mind would I call playing games, no matter how high the level, engaging in an athletic sport. Especially when I see real athletes, and the physical training they have to endure, and the abuse their bodies - not just their minds but their bodies - have to go through.

Royalblues commented on Pokémon Bank Remains Offline in Japan as Nint...:

Pokemon company is stupid for making us have to import pokemon across the internet this time around. I seriouly hope this fails so that when gen 7 comes around, all you need is two handheld devices again. This is in my opinion absolutely unnecessary.

Royalblues commented on Nintendo Left Online Out Of Super Mario 3D Wor...:

These nintendo guys are just plain not smart. Just having the option for online multiplayer would not have killed the game. You can't make a game better by excluding an option that can help enhance gameplay. These people are delusional. And people wonder why the PS4 and XB1 are fast on the track to surpassing this crap in sales.

Royalblues commented on Video: Xbox One vs. Nintendo 64:

That was a funny video. I'm glad that I am such a person that can take a video like this and see it for what it is - comedy - and not take it so seriously, because let's face it, if you call yourself a gamer, console wars would not matter to you either way.
Having said that, darn it, some of the best hours of my life have been spent in front of the TV with MK64 or Zelda OoT or M64 hooked on my 64.

Royalblues commented on Feature: The Biggest Wii U Games of 2014:

Smash, Kong, X and Kart. At least the Wii U will have 4 great games this year *if X comes out this year). Now I hope for a bigger 3rd party presence on the system, because I am tired of the story of Mario and Zelda holding a Nintendo platform.

Royalblues commented on Game of the Year: Nintendo Life's Staff Awards...:

@electrolite77 Think about it this way. Zelda on the 3DS faced stiff competition against it's peers in the 2013 library, as there are numerous games that came out that could be argued deserved the title. And it still won. That means LBW is really that good.
With Mario 3D world, there was hardly any competition for GOTY on the Wii U, so of course it is going to win.The system is starved for games.
I mean, I know you are still going to argue my logic, but see it one last way: if the Wii U had the variety of games that the competition is getting, I highly doubt the GOTY would be SM3DW. As fun as that game is (and yes, I have played it), I would hardly call it the most engaging gaming experience this year.

Royalblues commented on Game of the Year: Nintendo Life's Staff Awards...:

What a surprise. A Mario and Zelda game make game of the year. In my opinion (speaking as a person who's played most of the major 3DS games this year, sans Fire Emblem, but I have watched extensively its gameplay), I'd have to say that Etrian Odyssey IV and Animal Crossing New Leaf are the two 3DS games of the year. EO was more engaging to me than any other RPG this year, mainly due to the game's fighting system, and brutal difficulty that compel the player to employ meticulous strategy in order to progress.
As for Wii U Game of the Year, I can't say, because I don't have the system. But I will say this: It speaks volumes about the Wii U that the best game this year for it is a Mario game. That shows that it hardly has anything to offer.
Just my two cents. I'm mainly a handheld gamer these days anyway.

Let me guess. This is going to be the "definitive version" of the game.
Well, I've never played Minecraft, and still don't know what it's about (I'll have to check it out), but it is a mighty fine gesture of them to bring it to the Wii U,even though chances are that people who are even marginally interested in it have it for something else.I may just end up getting it on Vita since I can take it everywhere with me.

Royalblues commented on Nintendo Reiterates Confidence That the Wii U ...:

@Zombie_Barioth Nintendo's Wii U isn't the best platform for gaming because you won't see the sheer variety of games on that system that you will on the other two. And I know what you may be thinking: what variety? The truth is, that for every Mario game on the Wii U, there are just as many if not more indy titles, and in Sony's case, first party platformers that are just as good. Mario just doesn't gave the same grip on the industry that it did two decades ago, when there was little competition.
Also, look at the libraries of the other two consoles. We have up-to-date sports, racing, fighting, etc many different kinds of games that Nintendo's console has yet to see, and thus their reach to different people is wider than Nintendo, where most of the games on that console are Mario games or Party shovelware. And even if sports games and such aren't your thing, they appeal to a lot of people and help the console overall.

Royalblues commented on Nintendo Reiterates Confidence That the Wii U ...:

Nintendo may not kick donkey, but it will still teach the rest of the game industry that it knows how to innovate gameplay with each passing generation. While I may not eventually play my future Wii U as I will other systems, there is no denying what kind of impact it will have on home console gaming.
That said, it is a darn shame that each of the other two consoles have sold half as much as the Wii U in a mere month. And the Wii U has been out for thirteen months.

All I know is that Puyo Puyo Tetris better come to the US, online features and everything.
My brother and I spent HUNDREDS of hours on Puyo Puyo, both in the form of Mean Bean Machine and Puyo Pop Fever, with classic and fever rules. I just hope it comes out here so that my life can be complete.

Meh.
They did this with One Piece characters like... last year? No matter what characters you put in this kind of game, it will still be not good. Just my opinion though.
Just one button-mashing nonsense. Meanwhile, I'm still on the lookout for Zelda U.

Thank goodness that issue has been resolved. I have yet to play anyone in a serious online battle, as I have been busy with school, however, as soon as I get a formidable team ready for online, I would certainly hate to find myself disadvantaged by the cheaters.

And Damien is coming across as a person who is forcing himself not to like anything that doesn't have Nintendo's name on it.
He will feel this way in December 2014, even after the PS4 and the XB1 get a lot more games from companies that are more experienced with the hardware.
Needless to say, I will heed nothing this guy types from now on.

Royalblues commented on Soapbox: Even With The Arrival Of PS4 And Xbox...:

I believe most of you people are altering what it means to be a "hardcore" gamer.
Myself, I play mostly my 3DS these days, and yes I would classify myself as a hardcore gamer. I have played games for years, owned most consoles and enjoyed the games that I played.
What it means to be hardcore is to play whatever game it is that you play, and discover all the secrets, 100% everything, and enjoy the nuances to be found each game.
A person who can master the green demon challenge in Mario 64 is just as hardcore as the person who can understand the physics of their favorite sports or racing game enough to find their own niche group to want to play it with. Or even people who can master hundred hit combos in fighting games.
Then there is the casual side of gaming, where you just play to have fun and complete the story, as opposed to 100%ing the entire game. Games like Mario, where most people don't really care about completing the game 100% and getting every little thing. Kids and whatnot.
Like you can compare me to my brother. We both play pokemon, and we both battle with our respective friends. The difference being my friends and I EV and IV train, and he and his don't. That is the difference between hardcore and casual. Spending hours to master the craft of a game. That is something that can be done across all genres of video games, not just shooters.
That is why this "hardcore vs casual" and "nintendo vs shooters" is a pointless argument, and each and every one of you engaging yourselves in that argument is wasting your time.
Now, what a real gamer would do, is ignore all the press, good or bad, and just enjoy the hell out of their favorite game.
Me? I'm currently playing Etrian Odyssey on my 3DS, and by no means is that game a casual game. See you all, my fellow gamers.

The man as never played Etrian Odyssey! The most efficient mapping in video games. Only, you have to map by yourself lol.
Journey Onwards!!
Other than that, yeah some good menu things on the second screen, but two screens don't do anything to revolutionize the way people play. Still good to have though.

Royalblues commented on Super Mario 3D World Underwhelms on Japanese C...:

Yeah. I was thinking of getting a Wii U, but nobody I know has it, is getting it, or knows much about it. And three quarters of my class is into games. That's a lot of us, none of whom discuss nintendo outside of pokemon.
The PS4 sold more than a million units in one day. It will not take very long at all to match, and exceed the Wii U in total sales, plus there will be outstanding 3rd party support down the road fr the PS3/XB1, which is really mostly all that matters. Mario is cool and all, but people have moved on from the same nintendo stuff over and over.
And no, I am not a call of duty, or madden fanboy. The closest I am to that is NBA 2K, and racing games. I am just saying it how it is, and how it will be.
In the console gaming community from now on, Nintendo will be an after-thought.
They should just stick with the 3DS, which is a beast who can't be tamed.

And also, the Wii U isn't going anywhere. The sales are bad now, but they will indeed pick up. I'm starting to get tired of all the doom talk and whatnot.
It may not sell as much as the other two consoles when all is said and done, but it will be far from a failure.
And no, no single Nintendo game will drive the sales up, I think some notable exclusives that are third-party will help the WU a bit.
