Ron_Prower commented on Smash Bros. Brawl to get WiiWare Portal?:

You have a good point Stuffgamer1, I was thinking more along the lines as you pay to connect and keep the stuff, but I was trying to think of it similar to XBox live, though I've never personally used the service myself.

Ron_Prower commented on The Great Internal Memory Debate:

I agree with this whole issue, at first 512MB didn't seem all that bad for VC tittles, but with all the new content coming down and channels and everything you can really eat through that space in a short time. Nintendo would never officially allow 3-party HDD support as they would be terrified of the possibility of playing games on other systems without paying. I can see them coming up with their own drive that would work for about 3-months until someone cracked the encoding.

The downloadable content would be awesome as it would show that Nintendo fully understands its "hardcore" gamers that do nothing but moan and gripe that they don't do the same service as Xbox Live. My main concern though with the content is the Wii only has 512MB internal memory. So Nintendo would either have to add complete support for the SD card or allow users to buy an external HDD and attach it to the Wii. Other than that being my main concern, a download channel for all games would simplify a menu and allow Nintendo to go "Pay x-amount a month and get all the content you want".

Ron_Prower commented on Original Smash Bros Coming to VC?:

I took a look through the newest Nintendo Power, I'm assuming is the one featuring the Sonic RPG game. I did not see anything specifically mentioning it in either their VC review/news area or the section they keep dedicated to Brawl.

I'm assuming that they will release the original game in time. The problem most people will have though is that the gameplay in the original game is a lot slower and the movesets for most characters are low. I think the majority of us that had it on the N64 will probably pick it up for the memories.

Super Mario Kart, I don't know personally about that one. Most people don't even know that there was a Mario Kart for the SNES let alone it was the original game. They all know Kart 64 and with that one already it may not get released at all.

Ron_Prower commented on EU VC Release - 4th January - Harvest Moon:

Man I don't really hate the games that NOA and NOE are releasing for the VC, but for something so successful it be nice to start seeing some more games being released each week, this is almost direct profit for Nintendo.

Ron_Prower commented on EU VC Releases - 14th December - Mega Man 2:

Uh guys, how many games for the VC are already out on some form of collection such as the Sonic games or Gradius. There's no reason that just because MegaMan is on a collection that the US should not get it already. It really truly stinks that EU has now got MM2 and we've still yet to get the original.

Man those lucky Japanese, getting all the cool accessories. Here's to hoping that NOA and NOE do the same accessory here.

Ron_Prower commented on Super Mario Bros. 3:

I know a lot of people here are deadset on having to have the original version of SMB3, but being one who first played the game on the SNES as All-Stars personally I do prefer the polished graphics over the original. For such a great game to me, it's nice to see it get a touch-up to make it look smoother. I understand the idea to be classic with it, but it would be nice if Nintendo may eventually allow you to download the All-Star versions of the games, obviously though separately.

Ron_Prower commented on US VC Releases - 8th October - Neo Geo Week:

I'd love to see some more RPGs on here that I missed out on as a kid, not more fighting games. It's a shame that our entire update this week had nothing but fighting games. Hopefully it won't be the same next week, I'm trying to save my points for some actually good games.

Ron_Prower commented on Sonic 3D Blast:

Well at least it's going to be the Genesis version meaning you get the easier special stage out of the two. Though the Saturn version did have the obviously better environment graphics. I'd rather see them saying Sonic & Knuckles as it was a better Sonic game than 3D Blast.

Ron_Prower commented on Sonic the Hedgehog 3:

Probably my favorite out of all the Sonic games, though the experience is only truly gained when this game is combined with the rest of the actual game known as Sonic & Knuckles, I wonder how the lock-on technology is going to work on the virtual console?

Ron_Prower commented on Mario Kart 64:

Man I remember when I use to play this game every night on my 64 it was the first game we got when we got the 64. I clearly remember all the tracks and everything, considering the game is already beaten within 2 hours of downloading it. I remember the god awful AI system and its ability to come from 8th to 2nd in mere seconds and keep up with any boost you have at your disposal, it really ticked me off a lot seeing as you literally had to fight your way to stay in first.

Yes the game deserves 4-stars, it's always my favorite. The DS Mario Kart is great, the controls are smooth and everything, but never cared much for the changes in the weapons system and the countless amounts of blue shells you get in that game. But the MK:DS still holds a high place to me, both of the games are truly good.

And of course we can all agree that MK:64 is at least better than Super Circuit right? ;)
