Well thanks on the impulse purchase, NL. Hahaha, too bad the lowest shipping option is $7. Still the cheapest option anywhere for Chrono Trigger. Now I have to be even more conservative with how much I spend during the Steam fall sale.

Retro_on_theGo commented on Nintendo Badge Arcade is Out Now in North America:

Well that came out of nowhere. Nice it's out, but I guess this means I should just not expect anything for the Direct. This is reminiscent of the mini direct they had before E3 this year where everyone thought they got the small announcements out of the way for something big but nope..

So much potential for incredible games combining the Warriors series with Western IP's. Wonder what it could be. Star Wars makes the most sense. I'm sure a lot of people would love it, but I wouldn't be interested sadly. I hope to see TMNT or something.

Retro_on_theGo commented on Nintendo Download: 29th October (North America):

These sales for 3DS a fantastic. Tempted to get the Atlus game for that price. Although I'm sure online is more dead than Nicholas Tesla at this point.

Is Urban Trial Freestyle the same aas those games on the 360? I was always under the impression that series was Microsoft exclusive, huh.

This is AWESOME! I might actually start playing Mario Maker again.

Also, not really related but just a thought: Nintendo dropping this kind of info makes me feel Directs are dead despite what Nintendo has said. At least for now. We probably won't be getting one until next year.

Retro_on_theGo commented on Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Competitive Scene ...:

@XCWarrior How the hell is he being a sore loser? I follow the competitive scene, ZeRo is a huge cry baby, but this is the first time I see him being legitimately satisfied with a loss. You don't have to win to be content. You learn a lot from a loss, but even then, ZeRo has a 56 tournament win streak. It's a huge burden taken off his shoulders to not have to worry about the streak anymore and the hate and eye rolls he gets every time he wins. He and Nairo have been rivals for the longest time. He's sincerely happy for him.

The review was really reading like a 7/10 to me. The 6 seems to honestly come out of nowhere.

The review itself seems fair enough. Something that's not mentioned that I think is nice are the character interactions. They're pretty lighthearted but entertaining and at times funny. Although I guess that could vary for everyone, some might just dismiss some moments as cheesy. Also a good amount of stuff to do once you beat the game to keep you coming back. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a new RPG if you're on the fence.

Wait, aren't 3v3 battles in every single game? I thought it was the series's gimmick. EDIT: yes, every single Medabots game has featured 3 on 3 battles, this isn't the first lol.

Anyway, holy crap! Did not expect this!! Ah, I'm so excited! Natsume please localize this. Hopefully the VC release does well to convince them.

Retro_on_theGo commented on Video: Pokkén Fun with Masked Pikachu:

I love Pikachu Libre, but the one thing that bugs me so much is that they used her electricity to basically increase her grab range. Like, obviously she can't suplex all those Pokemon without looking goofy, so they just used her lightning to get around that. They could have just used another Pokemon at that point. Like Hawlucha.

Still looks fun though. Pikachu doing the Stone Cold Stunner. What a time to be alive.

Retro_on_theGo commented on Exclusive: Check Out Runbow's Complete Cast of...:

Wow, this practically is an indie Smash Bros. Pretty outstanding cast of characters. Too bad the game is really boring for me. I played the demo for that Nindies promo and it was really…slow and unrewarding. Maybe it's more fun with friends, but I don't have too many people to play with, and when I do, it would be hard to convince them to try this over Smash Bros or Mario Kart 8. Hope it does well for the developers though! A straight up fighting game sequel with this cast would be a dream come true.

@FLUX_CAPACITOR Hi, my username is Retro! I see you don't know how a comment section works. That's ok, everyone starts somewhere. You see, this new fancy technology is a way of sharing opinions. If you can't grasp that concept there's a power button you can hit on your monitor to turn it off and step away from the internet. It's hard for beginners, but keep practicing, you'll get better at it and your priorities will set themselves straight!

Retro_on_theGo commented on Review: G.G Series ASSAULT BUSTER (DSiWare):

Thanks for the review! It's very convincing, I'm gonna pick this one up. Glad to hear there's more good shmup's on the eShop now, but I have to agree that G.G. Series Dark Spirits is the best shmup in this series. I own it and it is very fun and engaging.

Retro_on_theGo commented on Project H.A.M.M.E.R. Exposé Reveals Torrid St...:

@TrueWiiMaster I agree, but the problem with Nintendo's structure is that if just one person shoots down an idea, it's done. They have to go back to the drawing board and present it all over again. It makes it frustrating to get ideas through and the few there who don't understand today's trends can mess it up for others.

Retro_on_theGo commented on Project H.A.M.M.E.R. Exposé Reveals Torrid St...:

This is really sad to hear. It's definitely a problem that Nintendo always had had too. Dan Adelman complained about this before too after he left. Nintendo needs a serious restructering. As it is now they're very very archaic and only shooting themselves in the foot. Nintendo's only making themselves more and more irrelevant every single day and I don't see things changing any time soon as long as these suits that don't even understand gaming culture today are still in charge.
