RetroLuma91 commented on Kirby's Dream Land 2:
I'll admit that as far as this iteration's music goes it's a step backwards from the first game, but overall it's an improvement over the first Kirby's Dream Land, imo (especially when played on the Super Game Boy peripheral cartridge for the SNES)

The interview was good, imo; sad to hear the game won't make it overseas

RetroLuma91 commented on Kirby's Dream Land 2 Reaches Europe Next Week:
Kirby's Dream Land 2 was the first ever Kirby game I played, and a very memorable one at that; also, it marks the very first of many appearances (playable, cameo, or otherwise) of the animal helpers Rick, Kine, and Coo
@Dracolosse89 - I've always liked this second iteration more than the first one, which is nice to play every once in awhile

As great as those screenshots look, they more resemble Game Boy Advance (or even really good looking Game Boy Color) visuals than they do SNES visuals, imo

I do wish I could buy a MegaDrive (I know it's called a Genesis in America, but MegaDrive sounds better imo) console and experience Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse, but I'm not sure I can afford another console atm

The first time I played Vectorman 2 was when I unlocked it on Sonic Gems Collection for the GameCube years ago, and then I played it again on Sega Genesis Collection for the PSP, so I think I'm all set
I do remember having read how there was going to be a 3D incarnation of Vectorman years ago, but it was scrapped

Game & Watch Gallery 2 is another fun Game & Watch compilation; I remember having gotten it with the Game Boy Color (as well as Tennis) that one Christmas day long ago; good times

My favorite out of the four Game & Watch Gallery series is the third one, but the second one ain't bad

RetroLuma91 commented on Game Gear Hits North American eShop on 15th March:
Sonic the Hedgehog: Triple Trouble is a fun Game Gear Sonic game (which I played on Sonic Gems Collection for the GameCube), and a good one at that; I did like how you could take control as either Sonic or Tails, like its predecessor Sonic Chaos, another Game Gear Sonic game I enjoy (which I played as an unlockable in Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut for the GameCube)

But it's really coming out in 2013? Man (I was hoping Super Fighter Team was gonna release it sometime this year)!
Oh, well, I'm patient, but I'll be looking forward to the day Nightmare Busters is released

RetroLuma91 commented on Review: Prince of Persia (Wii Virtual Console ...:
Good review, Drake. I got to experience this game recently on my SNES (and beat it with the good ending in four-five days, including the day I got it), and I've got to say Prince of Persia is a fantastic game.
The way the levels are designed, the way the enemies and potions are positioned, and the fact that you're in a forced time limit really makes you think and strategize how you're going to beat the levels. The graphics and animation are superb, the controls take a bit to absorb but are intuitive, and the various music tracks add a lot to the atmosphere, which works for this game. Quickly became one of my favorites on the SNES, despite the difficulty.

I have to be honest, 'cause it's gonna drive me crazy if I don't say anything: I don't know if it's the chosen photo that was used here, or if I've seen other photos of him, but Reggie looks obnoxious to me. He's probably a kind person, I'm sure, but that smirk of his just irks me (imo).

RetroLuma91 commented on Review: Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island ...:
Good review, Thomas.
To me it's a very charming game with lots of personality, good intuitive gameplay, fun enemies and bosses to encounter, memorable and fun stage designs, and great visuals (yeah, the GBA version has a lighter color palette than the SNES game did, but it still looks good) and music (yeah, the GBA usually doesn't have high quality sound when it comes to ports of SNES games, but I feel Nintendo pulled it off quite decently here). I always have fun playing it, and I think it's really aged well. Hands down, my favorite 2D Mario and Yoshi game out there.
I always loved Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island more than Super Mario World, regardless of whether it was the SNES original or the GBA version.
