RedPanda commented on Pokémon Tretta Lab Coming to the 3DS This Sum...:

The concept and everything is interesting, but I agree that this will not be coming out of Japan anytime soon- as others have said, look at all of the Battrios... I suppose this might be popular in Japan, but I think it would be wiser of GameFreak to devote to X/Y, and then with any excess time, possibly start an Orre project. The latter is what would really excite me :D

I'm well into the original, and I enjoy it, although this wouldn't be a day-one buy, for me- if it comes to the States, it'll loiter around for a good few months until a gloomy day comes around and I'm in need of some fresh new picross. Not to say I don't care for this coming over, it's something I'd still enjoy seeing in the Wii U's shop.

Although I didn't enjoy the first (I stopped playing halfway through because nothing caught me), this looks amazing. So many new things to do. I'll wait for reviews, but I'm sure I'll give this franchise another choice in this sequel.

I'll be picking up the Colors update first thing tomorrow, although that Ultimate Wilds DLC is really tempting. Might have pick that up, as well... and now that I look at it... I really want the Kecleon Bazaar, too...

I've waited literal months for River Kingand HarmoKnight. But now all I get is the eShop glitch where I can't open it up... I hope I don't have to send my 3DS, I really want these titles D:
EDIT: Did the force update and my system is great~
Downloading River King now :)

RedPanda commented on Review: Legend of the River King (3DS eShop / ...:

From the first time I saw it in the US eShop (Trailer), I was excited :D
Beforehand, I had never heard of it. Harvest Moon might be coming out at around the same time here in the US (Still no release date for either here >:[), so Natsume may be getting lots of VC buys sometime soon.
@Joshers - For the US, I believe all that has been announced for both HM and River King is that they're coming :P
I also read that there was a part where you could raise a fish in your personal aquarium. I'll assume that's not true or at least not for this VC version?
Great read and review. Cleared some stuff up for me and confirmed that I'll be getting it as soon as it comes out.

King Dedede:
"Mate for life. My carefully cultivated flab can keep our baby warm while you venture out blindly into the tundra to find and gather enough food to keep all three of us alive, because that's certainly fair."
I thought I had seen the best last year, but this stuff is brilliant! These features are the things you can't find at other sites and what makes NL great, and it's good to see more being made. Great job, Chicken :3

RedPanda commented on 3DS Version Of Super Smash Bros 4 To Be Shown ...:

The only real issue is that a Wii U disc has more space than a 3DS cartridge, and something has to fill that room up. I am a crazy fan of the Smash Bros series, and I would really hate it if the 3DS version ended up without something like the Subspace Emissary.
Furthermore, I'm curious to see how the Gamepad will be used.
How the games sell against each other will be something. The 3DS controls seem much more superior to the Wii U's (The 3DS works just like a Gamecube controller). But as I said, the Wii U will probably have more data and something will happen with the Gamepad. Overall I'm definitely in for the 3DS version, I can play anywhere and with comfortable controls rather than having to use a Wiimote or somehow use the Gmaepad.
And what about hints at new games, like the way Pit is in Brawl? With lots of luck, we might see something in the gameplay...

RedPanda commented on Feature: The Biggest 3DS Games of 2013:

Professor Layton VS Ace Attorney. Something just seems attracting to anything Layton involved since I've played Miracle Mask.
The only saddening thing about 2013 video game lists is that Smash Bros is never featured, and I know it's true that it won't come out. But at least we'll get a few announcements!

RedPanda commented on Game Freak: The Pokémon World Will Be Evolvin...:

@Banjogeek - I doubt this is announcing the 6th Gen, there's still quite a lot of time for that. If everything goes as usual, the next game will be a Hoenn remake, i.e. Sky Emerald, but I don't see that as being an "evolution" in the series... I can say I'm a bit of a Pokemon fanboy, and I don't see anything wrong with the 3D models @Ideal mentioned... though I don't quite understand what you're picking at with the "use of the 3DS's internet functions", @Ideal.

RedPanda commented on Game Freak: The Pokémon World Will Be Evolvin...:

Pokemon on 3DS, for sure. People were wondering what was going on when W2/B2 were announced for the DS, what would happen if the next game did the same?
I don't think anyone even mentioned a main-series-game on the Wii U, because that would be terrible. It's fine on handhelds, if Gamefreak or Nintendo want to make a Pokemon game on a console, make a game like Battle Revolution or a 3D one like XD: Game of Darkness, that would be amazing.
I really want to see the Hoenn region again 2013, too.

RedPanda commented on Game of the Year: Nintendo Life's Staff Awards...:

Paper Mario deserves to be right up there for sure, the 3D is good, its puzzles are arguably hard at some points, and it is exceeding my expectations for the switch from a console to a handheld game. The only thing that I could possibly disagree on is that NSMB2 got second; I haven't played it, so I can't say anything bad about the gameplay itself, but the overall game looked a a bit expected. No big surprises. I would have hoped that Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask would've ranked third behind KI:U and PM:SS, but the three that were selected are good titles, and I can't complain much.
NSMBU ranking above Nintendoland is arguable, but Nintendoland made a much bigger splash than I was expecting.
Overall, good ranks.

RedPanda commented on Wii U on Plenty of U.S. Christmas Lists:

No way am I asking my parents for a Wii U for Christmas. I may stock up on some 3DS games, but not $350 of it. And all those kids I know who want iPads, they better start thinking realistically :l

RedPanda commented on Father Gender-Bends Link For The Benefit of Hi...:

I think that it's a fine thing to do. I'm still pretty young, and IMO, if the father's daughter is anything like me and the people I know, she won't hang onto a protagonist's gender rather than thinking about the main storyline and overall game itself. When someone reviews a game, they don't take away some points because they don't like the fact that the hero is a male or a female (or at least not a reviewer I know of), they assess what it has in it. When I talk about video games at my middle school, whether the hero is a woman or a male never comes up, it's what you get to do that is the bigger topic, along with the occasional talk about music, visuals, and achievements, none of which involve the star, very much. His daughter should play some Zelda games that aren't hacked, with a male being the hero. When she realizes what's what, there's no big deal; she still has an awesome game to play. I don't see anything bad about changing the gender, though, just nothing really game or life changing, either.

RedPanda commented on Review: Paper Mario: Sticker Star (3DS):

I'm definitely going for this one. I love the series, and this looks much better than I was expecting. The only question now is if I should wait for Christmas. I'm actually okay with the familiarity as maybe a few places might end up being a little bit nostalgic. @Dashie I'm sure you'll like it, just make sure to play some of the rest of the series, too ;)

RedPanda commented on Interview: 5th Cell - Scribblenauts Unlimited:

This, as some people have said, is looking great. The thing is, if they expand so much, what material will they leave for the next version? Who knows. I guess it doesn't matter as long as we get out Scribblenauts Unlimited as good as it sounds!

RedPanda commented on 3DS "Bookstore Anywhere" App Bringing eBooks t...:

I would read novels on my 3DS, if a service like that was ever released. I'm an active reader, or at least for my age and for being here in NA. @ajcismo I completely agree. Having books as portable as being in my pocket, on a handheld, would be great. And something 3D would be just as amazing. Personally, I never really "loved" manga, or anime, but I'm sure some people here do. I kinda doubt anything other than manga would be popular as books on the 3DS, though. They're outdone by the Kindle, all the Apple products, you know.

RedPanda commented on Reggie Fils-Aime Would Love to See GameCube Ga...:

This will be great, if it happens. The size of GC games were decent, but still pretty big compared to what Nintendo has done on VC, so far. If I was to see any games, I would definitely enjoy online for games like MKDD and SMBM, if that's even possible (But considering Nintendo can do ANYTHING, they can probably pull it off). I would also enjoy seeing Super Mario Sunshine, which is currently one of my favorite 3D games, especially on GC and in the Mario series. I never even got a chance to play Kirby Air Ride, so that better be there. And could they put in Pokemon C/XD? Online would be cool on them, too. Overall, this is a great oppurtunity, and Nintendo kinda has to at some point in time :P

RedPanda commented on The Denpa Men are Coming to Your 3DS Next Week:

XD I'm surprised. I thought I would be one of the only people to recognize it as a Teletubby. Overall, the gameplay looks great, and lately I've needed a new RPG, so I think I'll get it. I need to get the demo, but from what I've read, I'll assume that it's good as well. Also, knowing there is something called a "Oink Rabbit" ( @RR529 ), I think I have yet another reason to get it ;) I like the sense of sarcasm in the trailer, aswell. Poses gracefully on a table

RedPanda commented on Super Mario 3D Land Clone Hits iPhone, and Loo...:

-.-' These people need to be making the next big series, not copying the ones that have already been made. A copy of something good will sell, but something that is original and good will sell for more. Giving Mario long blond hair (Which gives me trouble in recognizing if it is a male) won't make this original or save it from being sued. Or at least they deserve some kind of sueing... even the Goombas look remarkably similar, worse, but similar. This is a disappointment :l
