I don't understand why people are put off by the demo? I've been playing this series since the early PSP days, and I think the demo lets you jump in with a supped up character and get a feel for what you spend a good chunk of your time doing. The only thing I see wrong with the demo is that it could have taught the player the controls, and showed screenshots of the main games features, like armor creation and whatnot.

To those of you who are basing your decision to buy the game off of the demos, rent the game then, or borrow it, or even buy it and return it from a department store. Try the main game; it explains controls and features of the game much better, and you will love it.

As far as the fighting chunkiness goes, this is why the game requires skill. You wont get far unless you put time into learning this game. It isn't like any other playing style, you have to grow accustom to the physics of this game in order to move through the game.

Let me ask this... Is it worth 15 dollars? Preordering a 3DS on Amazon gets you a 25 dollar credit to a select amount of offered 3DS games, pretty much all of the launch titles. So, I'd only have to pay 15 for this. Is that worth it?

Panthon13 commented on CTA Digital's 3DS 22-in-1 Accessory Kit Trumps...:

I want this for the game cases, since I already have 12 cards. I need that car charger and the wall charger, because it's all USB in the pack, and I would use the USB playing my 3DS with my laptop running, which is usually the case. The carrying case is a must. The screen protectors are needed, for me and my girlfriends 3DS. Headphones and European converter wont get used, but the extra stylus' are nice. And then, you have the finger stylus for your thumb. Those will be fun. I also have dropped my DS lite too many times. I'll have the wrist strap on this one. The dock is left, and I'm willing to bet it can charge too, so it's just an alternative to the Nintendo's charging dock, but with speakers. Finally, is the crystal case. I might use this if I need to grab my DS and not have time to mess with the carrying case. I will not let this thing get scratched up.

Along with this pack though, I preordered their other one, the hand grip from CTA Digital for the 3DS.

Preordered through Amazon now. Gotta wait for some game announcements now.... like... game release dates for my picks. I wonder why Kid Icarus isn't starring as the lead release game, like he was supposed to?

Panthon13 commented on 3DS Battery Life Revealed:

As far as the PSP goes with battery life, each game calls for a different clockage of the processor, the max is 333mhz. Some games running lower than that would cause graphic stutter, slow load times, and glitchy sound. So, the battery power used per game will vary. I'm guessing this will be similar. If a game like Super Meat Boy was on the 3DS, it would probably have more of a battery life to it because of the low power needed to run that game.

QUESTION!!!
What about battery time while in sleep mode? Or streetpass mode or whatever? What was the battery time for the other DS's when they were closed in hibernate mode.... as a comparison or guess for the 3DS?

This isn't bad? The PSP's battery is worse. Mine lasts between 1-3 hours depending on brightness and sound. Get a long corded charger, and a car charger. Problem solved.

Panthon13 commented on Zelda: Skyward Sword is Half Finished, says Mi...:

That's fine. Be a little late. Don't rush this game PLEASE! I have big hopes for exploration in this game. Unlike Minish Cap and Phantom, I don't want to do an event, a tree opens up if I succeed, and when I walk it, a heart piece is sitting there. What ever happened to really tedious, long events to get those heart pieces? Exploring through the mountains in A Link To The Past to fine that one heart piece almost randomly. Phantom of the Hourglass... didn't even have heart pieces.
I want a long game. Windwaker long... Twilight Princess long... and my honest opinion, New Super Mario Bros and Metroid Other M... they were both rushed, and far under my expectations. Let's not do it again. The first feature length game with a controllable sword should be amazing.

Panthon13 commented on 3DS to Boot Games Straight from SD and More In...:

Remember, something that updates like this is just as similar to an Antivirus program. There are always new ways to get around them undetected at least for a short amount of time. If you update to a custom hacked firmware, they can block other firmware updates, and update only through the custom firmware. This will allow them to hold compatibility with connecting to other 3DS's without taking the updates, or being detected.

Panthon13 commented on 3DS to Boot Games Straight from SD and More In...:

That SD card feature will let hackers just create software that masks and overrides the firmware running on the system as long as the SD card program is activated. After it is turned off, then the 3DS's normal firmware will continue to work. Although, updates on the custom firmware will have to be just as frequent as the 3DS updates. PSP can do something similar right now with loading and running homebrew programs. It's not impossible at all. And if they can find something that is flawed in the core program of the 3DS, even hardware wise that cannot be changed, than updates will not fix that.

Panthon13 commented on 3DS Anti-Piracy Measures are Too Sophisticated...:

Well hold on guys... this article (or interview) doesn't focus on hacking and pirating games for homebrew... I actually find this topic to relate more to the problem with Chinese ebay sellers, how they sell fake, pirated games that only work on DS and DS lite. That is why they also state that the DSi helped combat that, because those games no longer work on that updated console. So they might be talking about homebrew and pirating games, but also might be talking about the piracy sales going on in the market as well.
