Nath17 commented on Mario Kart 64:
I think Mario Kart 64 is much better than Mario Kart Wii; probably because I believe Wii is the weakest game in the series. My favourite is Mario Kart DS.

I'm going to be controversial by saying I prefer this version to the Mega Drive version. Mainly because it's faster than the 50hz version of the Mega Drive version and is more playable in my opinion. The only flaw in the game is the fact that they don't seem to give you rings in Robotnik's acts.

Great week for the Americans. Here's hoping that Mario Tennis for the Nintendo 64 is on the horizon for every region.

Nath17 commented on Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars:
Thanks Nintendo for finally releasing this masterpiece in Europe. As much of a Paper Mario fan I am, there is nothing like playing the spirtual predecessor to one of my favourite games. The graphics are flawless for 16 bit, in my opinion besting the graphical efforts of Donkey Country, and the gameplay is fantastic once one gets use to it, culminating in one of the most rewarding RPGs I have ever played. This makes me anticipate Mario and Luigi 3 for the DS even more.

Nath17 commented on Mega Man 9:
Finally, a Wii Ware title that appeals to the hardcore gamer market, not the family friendly, vomit inducing casual gaming market. No doubt that the game's difficulty will cause a backlash because it involves actually playing games like the good old 8 bit era.
Nevertheless, Mega Man 9 is essential. It looks fantastic and makes me realise how ludicrously easy 80% of games released today are. Let's just hope that Nintendo follow Capcom's example and make Super Mario Bros. 4.

Nath17 commented on Review: My Pokémon Ranch:
I was foolish enough to download this. What a waste of 1000 points. I thought you could walk around the ranch, and directly interact with Pokemon, not watch them for two hours and realise who short life is. This makes me have second thoughts about downloading Pokemon Snap for the VC.

Challenging in places, however the graphics and music compliment Donkey Kong's return.

Nath17 commented on Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa:
The kiddie image is slightly off putting, however this game is still a solid platformer. If you've already got Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels, I'd recommend this 600 point game.

Downloaded this out of curiosity, reeling from disappointment about the abscene of Secret of Mana and Mario Golf, but it's actually pretty good.

Nath17 commented on World of Goo is Officially the Best Wii Game Ever:
It just proves that Nintendo hate us Europeans. We are always dealt from the bottom. A Wii Ware title that seems good seems impossible (except Mega Man 9), so much so that we cannot have it until five months and have to buy at retail for a few pounds more. No doubt, we'll get the new Brain Training game on Wii Ware this week; as casual gaming is prominent here (sigh).
