Mystemo commented on Mega Man Legacy Collection Gets a Budget Price...:

I was going to buy this but now I've changed my mind. I already own all six games on NES and on the gamecube Mega Man Anniversary Collection, I want to support new Mega Man games being made but if I can't even get a physical version I'm not going to buy a bunch of games I already own.

Mystemo commented on Talking Point: Tatsumi Kimishima Is A Safe Pai...:

As long as he doesn't let financial thinking get in the way of the creativity Nintendo is known for it should be fine. But I really hope someone with a background in game development takes over again at some point.
I don't think many western Nintendo fans want them to make more westernized games though.

Mystemo commented on Poll: Which Is The Best Super Mario Platformer...:

I'd have to say 3D World. I'm usually more drawn to retro games but 3D World has what I consider to be the best level design of all time and when you add the wonderful Mario style, 4-player co-op, fantastic graphics and superb music plus a crazy amount of content it has quickly turned into one of my favorite games of all time. Of course all the other Mario games are excellent too, especially World, Galaxy, Sunshine and Bros 2 & 3.

Mystemo commented on Review: Devil's Third (Wii U):

I love this game, I'd probably give it an 8.5. Even if you don't love it as much as I do I think it at least deserves a 7. But at least you didn't give it a friggin 2 or 3/10 like a couple of other reviewers. I mean, it's one thing if this is not your type of game, I can understand that but 2/10 is the kind of score that you give to a game that is completely broken. If you have even the slightest interest in this game please don't listen to those reviews, this game is excellent!

Mystemo commented on Review: Devil's Third (Wii U):

I don't get why this game has gotten so many negative reviews.
Sure, it has a few problems here and there but I've played it for several hours today and it's been a LONG time since I had this much fun with a shooter.

Both the shooting and the melee combat is super satisfying, it feels more like a 90's or early 2000's shooter than a modern Call of Duty type shooter, and that's a good thing. The plot feels like a mix between an 80's action movie and a really cheesy anime and even if it has serious parts it doesn't take itself too seriously (at least not up to the point where I am in the story) and that's also a good thing.

The multiplayer is very fun too.

Mystemo commented on Scathing Nikkei Report Hints At Shameful Treat...:

By the way, back in the 80's there was this company called Atari who used to make great video games. One day a new boss came to the company and they decided to abandoned the console gaming industry and all their pre-existing fans in order to focus on the new exciting technology that people where getting into (in that case the home PC industry). But then suddenly console gaming had a resurgence and Atari came crawling back to their old fans, but by that point their old fans had moved on and Atari died a poor lonely death. The moral of the story is: If millions of people all over the world love you for what you do, maybe you should not turn your back on them for some potential short term profit.

Mystemo commented on Zero Escape Volume 3 Will Tell a New Tale on 3...:

Awesome news! I hope this game brings the story to a satisfying ending. I'd love for the series to continue but I'd also hate it if we got left with another cliffhanger that may never be resolved. They could always start a new story with a similar premise.

Mystemo commented on Talking Point: Metroid Prime: Federation Force...:

If this game had been presented together with a new "real" Metroid game I think people would have loved it, or at the very least accepted it.

Metroid is one of my favoritgame series of all time and like most people this game is not what I wanted for the next Metroid anouncement. But people are so enraged by this that I don't think they are willing to look att the game on its own merits. No this is not a real Metroid game and no this is not what fans where hoping for but Next Level usually makes incredibly good games when handed a Nintendo license and what they showed of the game and the Blast Ball mini game it actually looks really fun. I wish that it had been a new IP instead so it wouldn't have to be compared to Metroid, but I guess they where hoping it would sell better with the Metroid name. This seems to have backfired but guess we'll see when the dust has settled and more info is revealed.

Mystemo commented on Video: No Matter How Annoyed You Are At Ninten...:

It wasn't Nintendos best E3 but come on, they had good games to show and the presentation itself was fun. Sure, I think most of us wanted more but calling it Nintendo's worst E3 is just plain wrong. Remember 2008? Wii Fit Snowboarding? Robbie Drums? Remember that?

Mystemo commented on Metroid Prime: Federation Force Is The Metroid...:

Guess they're keeping the next real Metroid game for the NX.
I'm not 100% sure about this one but Next Level usually makes great stuff so I'm sure this will be fun even if it's not exactly what we where hoping for.

Mystemo commented on Warren Spector Reminisces About the Develop...:

The Epic Mickey games on Wii where fantastic in my opinion.
Let's be honest here, nobody really expected the games to be as over the top dark as the concept images, and to be fair I don't think it would have been a good idea to make it that dark even if Disney allowed them.

The games we got where excellent tributes to Disney's past as well as great 3D platformers which is not exactly something we where spoiled with during the last console generation. The story was very well writen and actually had a mature edge to it without resorting to the tired dark n edgy trope.

Mystemo commented on Poll: Where Do You Stand On DeNA, Smart Device...:

I don't like most mobile games but as long as Nintendo themselves focuses on console games and just keeps an eye on DeNA to make sure that they don't abuse their franchises it's fine.

Just thinking about the NX (or any new dedicated Nintendo hardware) has me drooling.

Mystemo commented on Devil's Third Director Tomonobu Itagaki Believ...:

I really hope that it's true. Project Zero/Fatal Frame is one of my favorite horror game franchises and the latest game looked incredibly cool from the trailers. I don't care if they don't translate the voice acting, just release the game in the west and I'll be happy.

Mystemo commented on Watch Dogs Wii U Release Dates Confirmed:

The sad thing is that Ubisoft releases this game several months after the other versions when most people who wanted the game have probably given up and just bought it for another system. Then when the Wii U version doesn't sell as much as they wanted they will blame us and say that "Wii U owners don't buy M Rated games"

Mystemo commented on The Trending #WiiUDroughtAid Shows That, Actua...:

There has not been much in the way of retail released for Wii U during the summer, but to be fair the same could be said for all the other systems as well. There has been quite a few cool eShop releases though, and there's a lot of great looking things coming in the next couple of months.

Mystemo commented on Capcom Is Remastering The GameCube Resident Ev...:

Bogus! I'd love to play a HD version of this awesome game but I'm not going to support the game if Capcom don't support the Nintendo fans who bought it at its original release. Guess I'll just play the GC version again.

Mystemo commented on New Fatal Frame Will Be Spooking The Wii U In ...:

Hopefully the immense fan support of Project Zero/Fatal Frame 4 (most notably the fantastic fan-translation) will be enough to convince them to localize this version. Can't really see any reason why they shouldn't

Mystemo commented on E3 2014: Devil's Third Confirmed As Wii U Excl...:

I can see that Itagaki still has his teenage boy mentality going. But the Ninja Gaiden and Dead or Alive games where very well made and stylish so I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out. The gameplay looks fun from what I've seen so far and as a huge Nintendo fan it's always very nice to see new 3rd party exclusives.

Mystemo commented on Satoru Iwata Speaks Of The Need To "Redefine" ...:

As long as they keep making fantastic games their main focus I think it's a great idea to expand their business to other fields of entertainment.

I just hope it works out well for them. I'd be really sad if Iwata had to step down he's by far the most likeable CEO I've ever seen.

Mystemo commented on BurgerTime World Tour Meats its End on WiiWare...:

I'm a fan of the original Burger Time so I'd like to try it but it was still 1000 points on the European Wii Shop when I checked earlier today. Maybe they will change it on thursday when they update the Wii U and 3DS eShop.

Mystemo commented on Industry Veteran Peter Molyneux Warns The Indi...:

Nintendo continuing what they do best and continuing to bring in more indie developers is not mutually exclusive, they should do both. At least I think that will be best for them in the long run. The indie wave might slow down eventually but I think there will always be room for indie developers in the foreseeable future and having their support can't be anything but an advantage

Mystemo commented on "Dark And Edgy" Sonic The Hedgehog Film Report...:

@PrincessEevee9 Well, maybe it's not AS bad as 06 but it's still pretty darn awful. Plus it stars arguably the worst character in the Sonic series, a series filled with useless characters (yes, I hate Shadow more than Big the Cat). Personaly I dislike all the 3D Sonic games up until Colors (which still was no masterpiece but at least a big step in the righ direction). But at least this is just a movie so maybe (hopefully!) they will keep going with the lighthearted goofy style in the games instead of trying to force their blue cartoon hedgehog into incredibly dumb "mature" melodramatic sci-fi fantasy stories

Mystemo commented on "Dark And Edgy" Sonic The Hedgehog Film Report...:

I had hoped to never hear "Dark and Edgy" mentioned in the same sentence as Sonic again. Sega where finaly starting to redeem Sonic with games like Sonic Generations and Lost Worlds and now they want to screw it up again. Hopefully they look back at what happened with Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 06 and realize their mistake but I wouldn't count on it.

Mystemo commented on Ice Hockey:

By far the greatest Hockey game of all time, and possibly even the greatest sports game of all time. I'm super happy that it's finally comming to Wii U VC. Now we just need a 3D classics version on 3DS

Mystemo commented on Soapbox: A Case For The Defence: Castlevania 64:

Thank you! I've always thought that Castlevania 64 got way too much hate. I'm not going to pretend that it's as good as the 2D games (which are among the greatest games ever made) or even the PS2 3D games but it actually plays very well and has a great atmosphere and compared to the piece of garbage Lords of Shadow games it's a masterpiece.

Mystemo commented on Talking Point: Nintendo's 3DS and Wii U Strate...:

I still have faith that Nintendo will make a strong comeback. If they just give more incentive to 3:rd party developers and keep up the fantastic 1:st party efforts. I don't think they will reach the same level of sucess that they did with Wii and DS but that would be unfair to expect.

Mystemo commented on We Cannot Continue Without Winning, But It's N...:

I don't think many gamers use smartphones the same way as a real gaming device, a smartphone can be great to have if you're stuck somewhere without acess to any other entertainment. You can play a quick round of something like Doodle Jump or Temple Run in just a minute or two and there's certainly a place for those kinds of games, but that's not what Nintendo is about. They make huge deep games that encourages taking your time and exploring and those games do not belong on smartphones, and they certainly don't belong on any system that doesn't have buttons. What I would rather see is: 1. Better 3:rd party suport (maybe giving them more exposure, and maybe help with marketing/publishing more often?) 2. More 1:st party games from the less safe and familiar franchises. We all love Mario but there are still thousands of fans that are waiting for more F-Zero, Star Fox and Punch-Out 3. More small projects. Of course we want the huge fantastic Mario and Zelda games but the excellent eShop has opened up great possibilities for the kind of crazy experimentation that we all love from Nintendo, and with smaller budgets these games don't need to be million sellers to be a sucess. 4. Why not combine the first two points and let more 3:rd parties develop games in 1:st party franchises (under Nintendo supervision of course) it worked out amazingly for games like Luigi's Mansion 2, Punch-Out for the Wii and Excite Truck and I bet there are many other developers who would give anything to get a crack at one of Nintendo's legendary franchises.

Mystemo commented on Talking Point: Is The Castlevania Series Finis...:

The Castlevania series have some of the best games in history and I would love for them to come back to Nintendo. But if the series are going to continue in the tracks of the unbelievably mediocre Lords of Shadow games then I couldn't care less.

Mystemo commented on Former Naughty Dog And THQ Head Jason Rubin Sa...:

As someone who's worked in the industry I'm surprised that he didn't realize how stupid what he's saying is. Nintendo is both a hardware and software company so it should be obvious to anyone that their consoles is a big part of their business. More importantly ,for gamers at least, Nintendo's hardware is speciffically made to compliment the games they want to make so if they had to make games on other systems it would impede the creativity that makes Nintendo what it is. The unique hardware is also important for their long-time fans and it's a huge part of Nintendo's image.
PS4 and Xbone are systems that just improves the graphical abilitiesof games without bringing anything new to the industry, and I'm not saying there's anything particularly wrong with that but I can't see how anyone after that could say that Nintendo's continous atempts at revolutionising the gaming industry makes them "irrelevant".

By the way, if Nintendo's hardware is "irrelevant" how comes Sony and Microsoft always flat out tries to steal the new features Nintendo introduces.

Mystemo commented on Ace Attorney Producer Wants To Revive Capcom's...:

Shadow of Rome was really awesome and I'd love to see a sequel for it.
But all of the series he mentions would be fun to see continued, as long as Devil May Cry refers to the original games and not the groan inducing 2013 version.
