Well, he hasn't been announced yet so maybe I won't get in trouble for being a Wario hunter this time around.

But seriously, if he does end up getting added to the list and someone picks him it will be difficult not to target that player specifically.

Marr_the_Great commented on Review: Yoshi's New Island (3DS):

I picked this up for my wife this Monday and she fell in love with it like no other game in years.

I'm disappointed in this review as a whole, when I started coming to Nintendo Life for my game reviews it was because it seemed to me that you guys were reviewing games for what they are and not what you wanted them to be.

Impartiality would be nice here.

When you consider that Yoshi is designed to appeal to the youngest of gamers (it's a literal baby game) you start to understand that this game not only does its job but does it well. This isn't some shovelware edutainment (stupid Chrome, "gamers" isn't a word but "edutainment" is?) click fest of find the obviously visible items, it's fun and imaginative and perfects the mechanics of Yoshi's island.

The Art is beautiful and cute (which is what it's supposed to be, remember: Literal Baby Game) with backgrounds switching between various classical art styles (Impressionistic and Japanese Ink wash to name a couple.) with an adorable crayon drawing foreground. You can appreciate the art on several levels.

The music isn't bad, I don't even know where anyone is getting this. It's not a grandiose orchestral score or a bad-donkey rock/electronic soundtrack. It's baby music in a BABY GAME FOR BABIES.

That anyone complains about an optional feature like the flutter wing makes no sense at all. "No please Princess in Super Mario 3 I don't want a P-wing, that's insulting." You remember that game? The one everyone here wants so badly? The Flutter Wing is there so that the BABIES FOR WHOM THIS GAME WAS DESIGNED don't get frustrated and quit thus killing future sales for the franchise and consequently Nintendo.

Again, I stress: IT'S A LITERAL BABY GAME FOR LITERAL BABIES, IT WAS NOT DESIGNED FOR GROWN MEN/WOMEN SO IT SHOULD NOT BE HELD TO THAT STANDARD.

Marr_the_Great commented on Sonic The Hedgehog Confirmed For Super Smash B...:

Can't say that I'm surprised. Sonic: Lost World is coming out so advertising the character in Super Smash Bros. makes perfect sense.

I would, however, like to know if this means that Archie Comics will get a deal to have Ian Flynn write a Super Smash Bros. mini-series.

That would be awesome.

This is great, and it's just the thing that Nintendo needs to be doing to court the next generation of gamers. Kids these days don't want to buy games from stuffy suit-men they want to be pals with the corporations they finance and Nintendo has learned this.

Marr_the_Great commented on Boulder Dash-XL 3D Digging Its Way to the 3DS ...:

My wife is a huge fan of the original Boulder Dash for the C64, she even bought it on our Wii's Virtual Console, we even had races in the NES remake together.

That said, I hope she never sees this article because I'll need my 3DS come October for Pokémon and if she gets Boulder Dash I'll never see my 3DS again.

Why stop with Reggie? Nintendo should acquire Pizza Hut completely and put all that in Super Smash Bros.

I would seriously buy a Wii U right now in anticipation for a Free for all match between Reggie Fils-Aime, the Pizza Hut Logo, a Stuffed-Crust Pizza and that Build-your-own-Sundae Bar.

@XCWarrior You are 100% correct. Most mobile gamers I know of spend nothing on games for their phone/tablet so Nintendo while Nintendo would make some sales, the profits would range between minor to an actual loss.

I'm looking forward to the 4DS now too. Leave it to Nintendo to innovate technology that allows you to SEE THROUGH TIME then use it for video gaming.

@World While I don't benefit from many memories of playing games with my immediate family (aside from the occasional game of Sunset Riders with my brother) video games have been a major bonding experience with my wife and her family.

My fondest memories all come from sharing various RPGs with her. From playing Final Fantasy VII for the first time on her Playstation late into the night when we first getting to know each other to sharing Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World together more recently plus a few more in between.

I even recently convinced her to start playing Pokemon with me, as miraculous as that sounds to me.

Marr_the_Great commented on Pikmin Hero Captain Olimar Joins The Smash Bro...:

I am unsure as to exactly why anyone is questioning the decision of including any of the characters announced so far. Super Smash Bros. has great potential to showcase great Nintendo properties and that should be a major part of the focus of the development team.

Not to say that the game is simply an ad, I have owned every Smash Bros. so far and will probably get this one too, the games are super fun, for sure.

But really, the announced characters all make perfect sense from that perspective: Pikmin 3 is coming out, Captain Olimar is the face of PIkmin - New Animal crossing, add the villager (though I and my wife lament that they chose him instead of K.K. Slider) - WiiFit is a huge franchise for Nintendo - And finally, the fans wanted Mega Man all along. (And maybe they got a big sack of money from Capcom, who knows.)

If they include Sutte Hukkun THEN I will be scratching my head.

Marr_the_Great commented on Review: Star Wars Pinball (Wii U eShop):

This reminds me of the time I played an old Star Wars Pinball machine at the arcade of the cinema a few years ago.

I absolutely sucked at it and immediately quit after one ball proceeded to drop straight down between the two paddles before I could even hit them. My wife (then girlfriend) thought it was a waste to leave two more balls and decided to play in my place. Her having never played pinball before I assumed that she would quit even faster than I did. (Especially after she showed her strategy of always hitting both paddles simultaneously.) I left to get tickets and snacks before the movie.

I returned about thirty minutes later to find her still playing. I asked where she got the money for more balls as she gave her money to me to buy her ticket. She claimed to still be playing the same ball as before. (Still hitting both paddles simultaneously.) I ended up watching her have to quit only because the movie was about to start and after she got the high score.

And that was the day I realized that no matter how good I get at video games my wife is just naturally better than me.
