Not a word about NX 😱 The Wii is selling because it is still seen by parents as the most family friendly console bar none. Wii u is doing alright.

They made £200 million. Wow that's a lot of money for a company that is supposed to be struggling. I think Nintendo's as a company have really great business acumen. Well done.

I never said Nintendo would be doing nothing for a year and taking a hit. Developing a new console and new software that Nintendo hope can be dominant in a very competitive market is certainly not doing nothing.

This "mounting evidence" that your talking about is 'non existent'. A couple of annalists and some 3rd party suppliers. If Nintendo were going to release a console this year they would be shouting it from the rooftops. They certainly wouldn't be keeping quiet, and that's exactly what Nintendo are doing at the moment 'keeping quiet'.

I agree Nintendo is a business, but unlike other businesses they have major advantages: ie lots of money. They think long term: not, where are we going to get the money for next weeks wages? 😊

NX hasn't even been named or revealed and people are convining themselves it will out before Christmas. That's what is unrealistic.

Wii u and 3ds are not dead.

The Wii u has a strong line up from Nintendo this year: possible 3 first party games. A few in-house games is a good year from Nintendo for as long as I can remember.

It's nothing to do with Wii u being able to hang on for 2 years. It's about NX being ready for launch. Going on previous Nintendo consoles, it is normally over a year between a console being unveiled and it's release.

Wii u is going to hopefully have an incredible year this year with Starfox Zero, Zelda u and possibly a new Paper Mario game.

There reports are a little like : Heinz beans speculating on Tesco's next move, with Tesco remaining silent. Nintendo are sitting back and rubbing their hands because they have to do nothing. There "speculators" are doing Nintendo a favour by keeping people interested in NX. We don't even know the name of the console yet and we have not seen any software running on it.

I truly believe the end of 2017 at the earliest, is being realistic.

Mario-Man-Child commented on Video: Collecting Every Wii Game Is Difficult,...:

I've 32 Wii games on disc. I don't have any shovelware. 99% are first party and I will never sell them. I also downloaded at least €400 worth of VC games to my Wii.

It took me a while to realise it at the beginning but now I think the Wii is Nintendo's best console. It's the key to Nintendo's past.

Mario-Man-Child commented on Feature: Why We're Still Playing... GoldenEye 007:

Goldeneye was released a couple of months before I took the plunge, but I can still remember it to this day the first time I looked down the sights of the sniper rifle, it was mind blowing. Definitely on a par with the first time entering Hyrule field in Zelda OOT.
I played it constant for 2 years.

Mario-Man-Child commented on Hardware Review: We Look at a Definitive GameC...:

I have an official GameCube RGB cable so all my GameCube games look great anyway. I could also play them on the Wii. I really don't feel the need to play them in HD.

I like to play games the way they were originally intended. They have more character that way. Although I don't think they were originally intended to be played on a 50" LED but they look pretty good on my telly.

Some people are obsessed with 1080p. I'm not.

Mario-Man-Child commented on Review: Mario Kart 64 (Wii U eShop / N64):

I personally think it still looks great. I would have given it a 10/10.

What is really great about MK64 is the controls and the incredibly track design. Nintendo fine tuned the controls to perfection. A true classic.

If I even knew what games you want Nintendo to release maybe I could form a better opinion. I bought a lot of games on Wii VC, not so many on Wii u because almost every game I want has been released apart from a few; the SNES FX games being an example, but I understand why that hasn't happened.

What games exactly do you feel are missing? Please don't say GameCube.

Mario-Man-Child commented on 1994 Patent Reveals Nintendo Was Looking To Cr...:

In them days Nintendo were mad on the idea of downloading games to floppy disks via kiosks. This looks more like something like that. Or maybe it was a way Nintendo developers could work together from their own home. Keep the creativity flowing.

There is a "VR Industry"? 😉
Seriously the Virtua Boy damaged the industry, come on. It always amazes me how clever someone can be, but on the other hand also "as thick as a plank".

VR headsets don't interest me. My feeling is they are not going to be as big as they want it to be. It'll be a small geek market, at home in their bedrooms swearing that it is the best thing since sliced bread.

I know I don't want one, that's all I know.

Mario-Man-Child commented on Analysis: Assessing Why NX Needs to Take Over ...:

I'm struggling to understand what Junko Yamamura is taking about. Of course NX is the successor to Wii u. He also expects NX to launch in October this year. I'm actually shocked; he is so far of the mark as far as I'm concerned. There is an old saying "paper won't refuse ink". Crazy.

Mario-Man-Child commented on Review: Wave Race 64 (Wii U eShop / N64):

I always felt Wave Race 64 was a follow up to Stunt Race FX. I would love a new Stunt Race & Wave Race from Nintendo.

I used to spend hours slicing 1/1000 of seconds of my lap times on Drake Lake and Twilight City. Fantastic game.

Mario-Man-Child commented on Talking Point: Nintendo Can Exploit Its Rich H...:

I'm not a fan of Nintendo remastering their games. I consider them perfect as they are. There is one game that Nintendo did update however and it improved it. That was SMB3 when they updated it for Super Mario all-stars (it really needed it). I didn't buy Wind Waker because I have the incredible original. I won't be getting Twilight Princess because I didn't actually think it was that great in the first place.

I want new games Nintendo.

@GammaNoises That last sentence in your comment is insane. You seem to think it has to be a new release for it to be worth buying. If you missed out on the last 2 generations go out and buy them up on the cheap. You don't have to wait for Nintendo to remaster them. That's ridiculous.
