It makes me happy that there are still developers like these guys in the world. On some days I'd want to play social games just to have a bit of mindless fun, but on others I'd want to get totally engrossed in a story which isn't afraid to challenge my own perceptions.
... ergh, I might stick with Colors3D then. I mean sure, an entire year of subscription will cost 12 dollars and that's seriously cheap, but making animations sounds like the biggest timesink ever.
...I'm going to printscreen this comment because I'm probably going to be addicted to flipnote a few months after it comes out...
I'm actually pretty glad that the event's not going ahead though. I can't see how this could possibly not go badly, considering some other gory advertising tactics (Dead Island torso ahem). Let's leave the violence inside the games and not bring it into the real world.
I remember playing this back in the day with the family. Sure doesn't sound like a family game though, and I certainly don't remember Marian getting killed at the start D:
If SUMO made the next Mario Kart... that would be beyond amazing! Transformed proved that they're more than worthy of making an incredible kart racing game which respects the history of its mascots.
I'm a little divided on this. It's nice that Nintendo is allowing LP's to continue happening to begin with (it's a legal grey area, to say the least), although taking the advertising revenue seems a little odd. I initially thought that Nintendo was going to insert ads for their own games onto LP videos, which would have made a lot more sense, but I'm not sure.
There are LP-ers who make fantastic commentary and put a lot of effort into their videos, and it's a shame that their effort won't get rewarded. On the other hand, LP-ing isn't exactly a legitimate occupation...
Plus, by making an LP the player is making an advertisment for Nintendo's games anyway. I don't really see the logic in making a deterrent for LP's, especially for Nintendo, since they focus more on gameplay than spectacle anyway.
Cobalt was one of the better looking colours IMO. The metallic red looks good enough, but lately I've been wanting something a little more discreet so that people on the train might think I'm just playing with a tablet or something.
This video is really heartwarming, to see all these people gathered together doing what they love, and winding up with such incredible results. It almost makes me want to get into game design.
Honestly, this is pretty gross. It does remind me of the infected swimming pool from the game though, which made me absolutely terrified because I thought it would come to life at some point.
Oh, that's a shame. Although if this game winds up being as creepy as I hope it will, I might just need a MvDK game to play afterwards so the tension gets diffused
Probably Picdun and Super C for me. Publisher Dream sounds interesting, but I'll wait for the review in case it's actually the exact same thing as Bookstore Dream. Even with the same terrible soundtrack.
And I must say, these weekly updates have been pretty sweet lately
Monsters Appear on Friday > Starship Damrey > Bugs vs. Tanks. I have a lot of respect for Inafune, but the other two titles just seem much more creative and interesting, which is what I enjoyed so much about Guild01. It's a shame that Monsters might not get localised, but I understand since it seems very tailored to Japanese audiences.
I also hope there's a bit more to ease the player into the fighting game genre, especially the rules and strategy of each particular game. I remember jumping into a Street Fighter game and having no idea how to get the edge over an opponent, and the training mode didn't help too much either. It wasn't until I looked up combos online that I could have a bit of success.
I understand that there are fans who would rather combos remain discovery/experimentation based though. I'm not entirely sure which way is best.
I loved Phantasia to death, except I couldn't find a copy of any of the future games. I'd always wanted to get vested into the Tales series, but I can never seem to find them
I haven't quite been able to get into Saints Row. Even if I did though, I'd probably be more inclined to get it on PC than on a console. I guess there is a market for Dead Island and Saints Row on WiiU, but I wouldn't blame the developer for assuming it's a small one.
It's odd though, now both GTA and Saints Row are skipping WiiU. Maybe this will boost Lego City's sales?
@DeviousSnorlax I always wonder why the people who complain about Garbodor don't complain about Muk.
And the new mewtwo... I don't like it much, but maybe just because it doesn't look as evil/serious as the original design. I always thought it made a good foil to the more cute design of Mew.
Wow. Roger Ebert was a seriously respected and intelligent man, I'm sure a lot of people myself included are saddened by his passing.
and @MarkyVigoroth, I find it rather disrespectful when people celebrate another's death just because they disagreed with one of their points of view. I'm glad to see this site doesn't have any disrespectful people
It's odd that Ubisoft is deciding to hold a multiplatform sale right now, they're also cutting prices on Steam. I hope this means ZombiU sees more of an audience though
Maaaan, if Soul Sacrifice gets dumbed down to a Monster-Hunter-like game, Inafune's going to be mad he especially designed it to be different to anything else on the market iirc, which is why it's a vita release in the first place.
And I say good on the Sony and the Vita. Plus, I figure everyone in Japan who ever wanted a 3DS probably already has one
Here's what you're missing - "at current sales rate". Even Pachter agrees that innovative games will save the WiiU, and said innovative games are coming. This prediction is comparing the WiiU's reality to Sony and Microsoft's promises, which is naturally going to tip it away from the WiiU's favour.
Predictions work by extending current trends assuming that everything runs the same way in a year, in two years, in five years. Nothing Pachter said is wrong, technically, but it's entirely possible that he'll be proven wrong. From the tone of the slides, I'd even hazard a guess that he's welcome to being proven wrong.
I only have the first, and I can't find the second anywhere (although the others are readily available). I'd much prefer to go in order so that I don't accidentally spoil myself though
@Meaty-cheeky generally with multiplatform games, it's not particularly beneficial to the developer to push each system to the limit - logically speaking, you want each version to play just as well as the others. If one version is clearly the victor in terms of quality, there are going to be a lot of dissatisfied customers who don't own that particular console.
Although I doubt it'd be such a big problem - Watch Dogs is coming out for PS4 and most likely the new xbox, so the WiiU version will be quality too
@rayword , actually, DsiWare games are run in the 3ds's DS mode. That's why online functions and everything else are switched off when running Dsiware.
