Unlimited continues? That blows. Half the appeal of Contra is eventually kicking the game's ass despite how brutal it is at first.

I can understand the lack of an online leaderboard though. In every Contra game I've ever played there's a never-ending supply of enemies coming at you. Even if you stop moving to the right the enemies keep coming. And when you consider the fact that there's no game timer it should be easy to see why they didn't include this pointless feature. Anyway...

For me, the release of a new Contra game is always an event. I can't wait to play this one.

This game will Bit Trip Beat your @ss........I downloaded it yesterday and still cannot pass the second song, maybe I'm just no good at the game. The challenge is very welcome though because with only 3 songs it extends the game.

Good review Corbie and I'm glad to see you liked this game so much.

So would it be safe to say that Matthew doesn't like gameplay innovation? I can understand to a point what he means by "loose" but to say they are pitiful is a shame. There is a definite learning curve with the controls but would it have been as challenging or fun? I guess some people had a really hard time with the "awful" controls.

Here, here, Mr. MadMartigan! When I see people complaining about a $10 price tag I often wonder "Are all these people twelve years old? Is $10, like, two weeks allowance to all these people or what?". $10 ain't worth **** these days. In the current videogame world of $60 games people should be happy to have the option the download fun, simplistic games at a fraction of that cost. Games that would never see the light of day if not for these downloadable game services. Instead you've got people constantly complaining that $10 is too much for a game that got a 7 or some damn thing. ****ing people.

I live with fixjuxa and I totally agree with his assesment on this game although I would give it an 8/10 instead of 9/10. My reason being is that I wish more of the levels were completely linear instead of having warp zones all over the place. We were playing it last night and he was spot on when he said "It really feels like moon lander" I love that game's simplicity and difficulty.

It's really to bad when a game like this gets ignored becuase people won't spend 10 bucks on a good game they could have forever. I can't tell you how many times I've spent 10 bucks at a bar in 5 minutes.

Props to HVS and their commitment to the Wii and Wii Ware

Whats the word on weapons in Str33t? Yay or nay? Love the top down aspect but without missiles, land mines and the classic oil slick I can unleash on my friends it could be a deal breaker for me. IMO a game like Hot Rod Racing could have been much improved with some tweaks, ie a few more tracks, car attributes and ditching the trick system for weapons. I know 2 of the items listed for Str33t were "power ups" and "car damage" Its just a little vague as to what those mean and how it would translate into the game.
