Link-Hero commented on Real Life Skyward Sword Controls Don't Work:

I never had had trouble with the controls. They worked great for me. The only times I had to re-calibrate the controller was whenever I start up the game. I also rarely had to re-center the cursor. You must be doing it wrong.

Link-Hero commented on Welcome to the New Look Nintendo Life!:

Well, finally! Took you guys long enough. The redesign looks great and it feels a little more professional and modern.

My only gripe is that you didn't even update the comment box/editor. It's a little too basic and I would like it if you can make it more advance so that it makes editing your post easier (like making lists, bolding letters, changing the text size, ect at a click of a button). Besides that, I don't see anything wrong.

Link-Hero commented on Skyward Sword's Music Sounds Even Better When ...:

It's rare for fan-made remixes, re-orchestrated, or 8/16-bitfyed music to sound even half as good as the original, and this is no exception. It sounds like it's more for a Metroid game then Legend of Zelda. While it sounds good, it still doesn't hold a candle to the original version.

Link-Hero commented on Digital Makes Up 14% of Key Nintendo Franchise...:

If Nintendo actually advertises their downloadable services, then those numbers would double or even triple the amount.

The reason why XBL and PSN are doing so well is because Microsoft and Sony advertise them. Most people don't look up the web searching for video game news, so they learn about those services from places like TV commercials and other advertisements. Even if you put something right in their faces, they will ignore it and not try it out until someone tells them what it is.

We probably wouldn't be in such drought with the VC, WiiWare, and the EShop if Nintendo put in their time and advertise them.

Link-Hero commented on Ubisoft: "Nobody Proved Wii Does FPS Controls ...:

After I played Metroid Prime 3 on the Wii for the first time and got used to the controls, I decided that I will never play FPS's with a gamepad ever again.

Since as long as I can remember, I always had trouble with any game with a first person perspective on consoles (even games that don't focus on it entirely like in some of the Zelda games). It always felt slow, cumbersome, and imprecise. One of the only FPS games I ever liked in the past was Metroid Prime 1 & 2 on the Gamecube only because of the lock-on mechanics made the game so much easier to shoot targets and enemies.

With the Wii-Mote pointer controls, lock-on is still available in Metroid Prime 3, but I found myself almost never having to use it because how fast and precise the controls were. It completely changed my view of the console FPS genre.

Most people who say otherwise never tried any FPS games on the Wii for longer than a few minutes or more, are doing it wrong (like holding up your arms infront of you instead of setting them on your lap), hate change, or never even played one.

Link-Hero commented on Super Smash Bros. Dices with Fan-Made Board Game:

I've tried many board games since I was a little kid like Monopoly, Mouse Trap, Apples to Apples, Chess, Checkers, and many more. I've played them with family, friends, and many random groups of kids at different schools. They are just not for me.

Link-Hero commented on Super Smash Bros. Dices with Fan-Made Board Game:

...

Why can't you just, I don't know, play the actual video game?! I don't see the point in making a board game out of a video game when it will never give you the same experience. This just makes it cumbersome to play and take too long to finish. Also, board games are, well, boring, so why play them?

Link-Hero commented on Current Wii Model to be Discontinued:

People are honestly surprised?

Finding Gamecube games in stores are becoming rare. Gamestop for awhile now has been trying to discontinue selling them. For the past few years, it’s gotten to the point where you’re going to have to look at online stores like Ebay and Amazon to find the game you want.

Also, the only people who even want to play Gamecube games are people who are more into gaming than the average Joe. So why does Nintendo have to keep supporting something that most people won’t use? The same thing happened to the DSi with the GBA slot.

Besides, why should any of you care if you currently own a Wii? The Wii U is going to sell Gamecube games on the shopping channel (or whatever it’s going to be called), so you could just get them there.

Link-Hero commented on Feature: What Happened to Metroid 64?:

@ThomasBW84

Well, what I was trying to say was that the way you worded it made it sound like you were implying that Prime Trilogy (the one with all three Prime games bundled into one) and Other M were both on the Gamecube and Wii, but whatever.

Wow, what an awesome video. Did not expect some of those people to be in the video. My only complaint is that some parts of the video were a little too quite. Other than that, great video.

Happy 25th anniversary Metroid!

Link-Hero commented on 3DS Double Sales in Japan After Star Fox and F...:

See developers, games sell systems. If you actually release your games onto the 3DS, it might help it sell more and create a larger user base for more of your games to sell.

You now have no more excuses, go make and actually release your games already!

Link-Hero commented on Nintendo Faces Lawsuit Over 3DS Screen Patent ...:

Nintendo has been sued so many times since they first became a video game company it's not even funny. People try to find the slightest of similarities between their own products and Nintendo's and use it to get a fast one on them.

They know that Nintendo is a big brand name company that brings in billions of dollars every year, so they probably thought it was easy money. They also don’t seem to care that such a beloved company like Nintendo might make them go out of business because of this lawsuit.

It’s all about the money… So screw everybody else! :|

Link-Hero commented on Wii U Won't Support Blu-ray or DVD Playback:

@Everybody

SONY DOES NOT OWN BLU-RAY!

That title goes to the Blu-ray Disc Association. Nintendo would have to pay royalties to them, not Sony. Sony is only a supporter of Blu-ray, just like Panasonic, Samsung, LG, Phillips, ect.

What I think the main reason why Nintendo is not supporting Blu-ray or DVD playback is because they would have to use the slandered Blu-ray and DVD discs in order for them to work, which means that they would have to pay royalty fees. That would raise the costs of the console, and we all know that Nintendo wants their products to be as affordable as possible.

Link-Hero commented on Following Wii U Unveiling, Nintendo Shares Dro...:

Nintendo did not reveal the WiiU well. For one thing, they barely showed or mentioned the console. Thanks to that, it caused all sorts of confusion whether it's was a controller for the Wii, or for a new console. The only way to know was if you paid real attention to the videos they used to reveal the WiiU, or if you read articles on popular gaming websites.

So confusion is the reason for the stock drop. I believe that once the stockers get more information about the WiiU, the stock should start to rise back up.

I really doubt the WiiU will fail. There are so many possibilities they could do with the controller that could really attract the “casuals” (hate that word, along with “hardcore”) over to the new console.

Link-Hero commented on Wii U Uses 25GB Discs and Lacks GameCube Compa...:

I knew this was going to happen. Why would they put backwards compatibility on the WiiU for a console from 2 generations ago? Doing that would raise the cost of the console, so it makes more sense to put GC games on the WiiU’s Virtual Console. The WiiU should have plenty of power to emulate GC games easily.

The only problem I see is that there's no way to connect GC controllers into the WiiU. But there's a simple solution to fix this. Just release new updated versions of the GC controller that can connect to the WiiU's controller or to the Wiimotes. And if you don’t want to sell your GC controllers, you can buy converters. Problem solved.

Link-Hero commented on Features: Re-Examining Zelda: Twilight Princess:

The only thing I did not like was the difficulty. WAY to easy, even for a Zelda game.

Besides that, I liked everything else about it. It has some of the best boss fights in the series, a dark atmospheric story (ala, like Majora's Mask), very good dungeons/temples, and very cool items (like the double clawshot, spinner, and ball & chain).

It’s easily one of my favorite in the series.

I'm not interested in this one bit. You are limited to what so happens to be in one of the Red Box machines. Also, I like to take my time playing my games, so I don't like to rent them either way.

This was my first Megaman game and I loved it as a child! In fact, its one of my all time favorite SNES games and one of my favorite games of all time.

I agree with everyone about the great soundtrack, smooth controls, and boss battles. The best parts of the game.

Link-Hero commented on Rumour: Wii 2 has Blu-ray Drive, Controller Co...:

@JesusSaves

Sony does not own Blu-ray, they are one of the companies that helped fund it. If you go look for a Blu-ray player, you'll find Panasonic, Samsung, LG, Phillips, and more branded onto one of them.

If Nintendo wants to use Blu-ray, they have the right do so and Sony doesn't have any say in it.

Link-Hero commented on Rumour: Wii 2 has Blu-ray Drive, Controller Co...:

Even if Nintendo announces their next console (I refuse to call it the "Wii 2") at this years E3, I doubt it will come out this year. Maybe 2012 at the earliest. The 3DS was just recently released at a price of $250. I don't think Nintendo is stupid enough to release another system so soon. It will negatively effect the sales if they do.

Also, Microsoft and Sony have said that they wont release their next console for another 5 years. The Wii is still outselling the other consoles too. So I don't think Nintendo is in a hurry to release their next console right now.

So... You pay for a device that literally makes a LCD TV look like a CRT TV... Which means it will make it look worse... Did I get that right? :|

Some people just can't leave the past behind, can't they? They are just so blinded by nostalgia that they just have to have everything look like "the great ol' days". I find that kind of sad really.

That look is what makes me glad they don't make CRT TVs anymore. I like my games to look crisp, sharp, and clear with all the pixilated glory. Lines going through the screen with blurriness always annoyed me.

Link-Hero commented on Will We See a Zelda 25th Anniversary Collectio...:

I hope to God that Nintendo doesn't do the same treatment as they did with Mario. Porting an old SNES game and doing nothing with it when you could of just as easily put them on the VC was just unacceptable. Adding a booklet and a CD with only a couple of sounds and music from the game is not good enough. Just lazy.

Hope they put more effort into it then that this time if they decide to do it.

While the video is impressive, it's not a true speed run. A true speed run shouldn't use glitches, cheats, tool assistance, hacks, or whatever. You should play the game the way it's meant to be played.

Have you ever seen any world records with people who used any of the methods above to reach that goal? No, you don't.

Link-Hero commented on 3DS Game Cards Could Reach a Mighty 8GB:

Wow, that’s amazing. :o

The only type of game I see that could possibly fill up the 8GB card is an RPG game that has a huge open world with everything in 3D graphics and tons of voice acting for all of the main characters. But even that probably wouldn’t be able to fill up all that space.
