Kurtis_the_Red commented on Nintendo Download: 30th May (North America):

I planned on picking up the Oracle games and will be downloading them later today, but the Mega Man X and Ghouls and Ghost deal is interesting. I loved Mega Man as a kid, especially the 'X' series (Hence my profile Pic) and I've wondered about G&G since so many people love it for its difficulty.

If I can get X half off, and pick up the much praised G&G it might be worth it in the end.

Idk, am I the only one that sees a problem with yet another charging cable for my Nintendo stuff.

In a year or two, its possible I'll have My Wii U power cable, with two gamepads, I could get away with just using one charging dock by just switching them out, but add an additional charging cable for a Wii remote. A total of three dedicated plugs for my Wii equipment.

It's a tricky situation for the Wii U, and the Xbox reveal only posed more questions and confusion. Microsoft is bull-rushing their audience by requiring Kinect, Internet connection, and bogarding used games. With all their tech 'in-box' the price will be high, higher than even the PS4 I'd wager. Are consumers going to accept this new trend? or go with the more affordable, more friendly Wii U with names like Mario that everyone recognizes? It's more difficult to say now than ever.

Kurtis_the_Red commented on Talking Point: DLC's Increasingly Important Ro...:

This article hits a point that I think a lot of people miss. The Wii U is capable of both the greatness of Nintendo and the variety of 3rd party. I mean lets face it, DLC is a big subject today, it adds new content as well as keeps a game fresh, lengthening it's shelf life. While valid points can be argued about practicing good or bad DLC options, the fact remains it's relevant.

Nintendo is now in a place where they can offer these types of content or DLC, and have done so in part. Super Luigi U, is the largest one that comes to mind. The trick is getting the Developer/Publisher/ to agree with Nintendo, which as the article said, hasn't been practiced much. It is possible, and DLC will probably roll in as the console matures.

Be that as it may, it is only the 3rd party games where I care about DLC. If Nintendo ever includes, on-disc-DLC in a First party title...I might just ragequit life.

I don't argue that this is a great game. Super Mario World was a big part of my childhood, and for many out there, this is a worthy investment for the Wii U Virtual Console.

But on the other hand, I still have an SNES with a Super Mario World I'll just boot that up instead of paying close to 10$ for a game I already own.
