ktribal commented on Shin Megami Tensei IV Coming To North American...:

:O Good news!
I'm excited to play this game, but I haven't played any of the previous main games. Will I have to play them to fully appreciate this game? Are these true sequels, or may they stand on their own like Fire Emblem: Awakening?

@Geonjaha
Ah, thanks for clarifying your 'responding just to defend Nintendo' comment. :) With that being said, I still echo the sentiment voiced by a previous commenter who wanted to get a non-fanboy certification just so the counter-fanboys would see merit in their arguments.

@thepig
iI'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but yeah, a bit. :D More so if they champion a double standard under the guise of being supposedly 100% objective. I've been seeing a lot of condescending comments across websites even to people who defend Nintendo using meritorious arguments. Like Geonjaha said, sometimes these people get unfairly swept in the generalised 'fanboy' derogative.

@Geonjaha

I get your point. However, I don't see why commenting to defend Nintendo is so bad, or rather, why the act of 'responding just to defend Nintendo' relegates one to being 'just fanboys.'

Must all pro-Nintendo comments come with qualifications just so you won't be stuck with that label?

So it's okay for him to hate on the 3DS and the DS, because he's a developer who's spent a lot of time with Nintendo hardware, but it's not okay for fans to hate on his critcism because they're instantly 'fanboys'? Very cool double standard there from our self-proclaimed bias-free commenters.

So only Nintendo critics' opinions are worthy of merit? When people come to Nintendo's defense they instantly get branded as fanboys, and their opinions, therefore are irrelevant. Love it.

Still Fire Emblem. Unlocking all of these damned Support conversations takes a lot of work. I'm doing this on two save files currently, because in my first one some of them already married. =(( I haven't even recruited the kids yet. I want all my parents to be solid before recruiting them, and then work on THEIR Support conversations. I haven't done any Spotpass maps and paralogues outside of Anna and Donnel.

So much to do, I love this game. :)

ktribal commented on Rhythm Hunter: HarmoKnight's US Price Is Revealed:

Oooh, 15$ for this is actually attainable for me, to be honest. I was considering getting it before (when I was expecting a 40$ USD a la Theatrhythm) but now I am most like getting it. :) I'm really glad there's a demo. Hopefully you good people at NL will have a review of the game asap, I'm very interested in the replay value in this. :)

ktribal commented on 3DS Stays on Top in Japan, but Wii U Falls Beh...:

Nintendo is doomed! Every pro-Nintendo argument is not factual and is therefore false.

Loljk. I'm waiting to buy a WiiU myself, currently I don't see myself playing any games that are out for it RN.

I wonder what a WiiU Animal Crossing might do to push hardware sales, tbh. :)

ktribal commented on Cliff Bleszinski Sees A Future Where Nintendo ...:

LOL it's always the same.
"Nintendoomed! Nintendo deserves to go out of business!"

Even the comments devolve into the same old arguments with Bankai and the rest of the haters and the people who want Nintendo to fail on one side and the 'uneducated' on the the other. What a load of crap.

ktribal commented on Review: Fire Emblem: Awakening (3DS):

Yerp, you can turn off the little voice bites at the start of character dialogue, so it's really no issue. The amount of system tweaking this game allows you to do, is amazing. Only the most hateful of haters would fine anything to waa waa waa about.

Kinda like how people were reacting to the chime sounds in Theatrhythm, you can actually turn it off. :)
