Krambo42 commented on Image & Form Celebrates SteamWorld Heist Relea...:

I'm not a strategy guy at all, but I really want to buy this game. Dig was SO good, and I really want to support I&F. What a great bunch of people. The game actually does look pretty great for a game out of my comfort zone too. I think I'm gonna wait for the Wii U release, though. I really want to give them my money now, but I'd rather buy that version. I hope it comes out soon!

@JJtheTexan Thanks for the thoughts on the game! I absolutely loved Dig, but I am NOT a strategy guy at all. I was gonna pick up the game anyway to support Image & Form (and to give it a chance, of course!) because Dig was so good and the I&F team is so likable, but what you said makes me feel much better about getting it. I really do think I'll like it-it looks great!

Krambo42 commented on A 'Big' Nintendo Announcement is Coming on Monday:

My expectations are low, but there are 3 things that would excite me:

-Some sort of big VC announcement (Gamecube games, an impressive schedule of upcoming releases and/or sales...that sort of thing).

-A new Wii U game. Something big.

-Another humble bundle

Anything about Smash or Pokemon would be very underwhelming to me. I guess something about the Nintendo account thing could be interesting, but who knows.

Krambo42 commented on Guide: How to Unlock Plague Knight in Shovel K...:

I beat the game but the new campaign wasn't popping up for me. No idea why. Anyway, so, I ended up using this "cheat". The new stuff is ok. Not as intuitive or fun as the original Shovel Knight, but still a very cool free bonus.

Krambo42 commented on Shovel Knight is Coming to Retail:

I have this on the Wii U and have wanted to get the 3DS version as well, but never could bring myself to spend $15 on a game I already have when there are so many other games out there. The fact that I can get a physical copy for 3DS now, though...man...I'm gonna have to do it.

Krambo42 commented on Feature: The Biggest Wii U eShop Games of 2015...:

I am really excited for Freedom Planet and Fast Racing NEO.

I'm not a fan of strategy games, but I'll probably get SteamWorld Heist anyway, just because SteamWorld Dig was so darn good. I really liked the Treehouse presentation, too.

I'm a big Mega Man fan, but Mighty No. 9 just doesn't appeal to me. Still, if I hear/read good things, I may get it.

Don't really have much interest in the others.

Krambo42 commented on Nintendo Download: 25th June (North America):

@Yorumi Exactly. I'm not even so sure that it would have been an issue anyway, though it certainly could have been. I'm no legal expert, ha. But it seems just as likely to me, if not more likely, that the lack of Star Fox on the VC is just Nintendo being Nintendo.

@Ryu_Niiyama Has it ever actually been stated that Nintendo doesn't have legal ownership of the chip and this is the reason why the games aren't on the VC? I haven't seen anything saying that. I know that people speculate that that's the reason why, but I don't really believe it myself.

Krambo42 commented on Nintendo Download: 25th June (North America):

I would think that Nintendo would want to release the best, most well-loved Star Fox games on the VC to get people pumped up for the new one (especially in light of the fact that hands-on impressions of the new one are mixed). Why release the least liked game from the series that plays nothing like the others (not counting Adventure)? Maybe this is just the first of several VC releases...but I kinda doubt it.

@scamander I'm always seeing people say this is the reason, but has this ever been confirmed? Or are people just speculating? I'm not saying it's not true, but until I see some sort of confirmation, I will remain very skeptical. Personally, I think it's just "one of those things" and we will end up seeing it eventually.

Krambo42 commented on Humble Nindie Bundle Adds Three New Games:

@DarthNocturnal I actually just finished SWD this morning. I absolutely loved it. Very addictive. Definitely Metroid-esque, and you can totally explore, but it's more linear/obvious where to go to simply complete it. Not too long (I beat it in just over 4 hours), but I'll definitely be replaying it because it was so much fun. The bundle is more than worth it for SWD and Guacamelee (which I also just got, and have played about half of-it's fantastic...probably even better than SWD) alone.

Krambo42 commented on Review: Splatoon (Wii U):

@andyg1971 You shouldn't need a number to tell you this is a good review. Did you read it? Heck, the last line of the review alone should be enough:

"Splatoon is easily the freshest shooter in years and delivers superbly on all fronts; we have an inkling you'll love this."

After that, what difference does it make if it gets a 7, 8, 9 or 10? If you want a fun shooter, you can feel safe buying it.

Krambo42 commented on Feature: A Fit-To-Burst History Of Kirby Games:

Kirby's Adventure is one of my favorite games of all time. Might even make my top 10.

Kirby's Epic Yarn is a really special game. It's so creative and so charming. I love playing it.

I've had a lot of fun with Super Star and Dream Land 1.

I used to love Dream Course but I haven't played it in years. I have it on the VC...I should check it out again.

I either haven't played or don't care for the rest. I really don't understand the love for Return to Dream Land. It seems so bland to me.

Krambo42 commented on Poll: Vote For Your Ten Must-Play Games On Nin...:

I'll admit, I haven't played a ton of 3DS games, but I have yet to be "wowed" by anything. Mario Kart 7 was one of the weakest in the series, SM3DL was kinda bland, Luigi's Mansion is a bit of a chore to play, I saw no reason to get/play Smash since the Wii U version exists, I played a bit of Kid Icarus and could tell it wasn't for me, Kirby looks like Return to Dreamland which I didn't like, I'm not into RPGs or strategy games... eh, I don't know. I like Dual Destinies and NSMB2 a lot, but it's not like they're anything special compared to other games in their series. I actually haven't played Link Between Worlds yet, but I'm guessing I will enjoy that one.

I don't know, nothing really appeals to me much on this thing. Of course, it's worth mentioning that I've never been much of a handheld gamer.

Having said all of that, I really like my 3DS. It's great playing it on trips and in bed. But really, outside of VC games, I haven't found anything I LOVE yet.

Krambo42 commented on Interview: Yacht Club Games Talk Drawing in 8-...:

@SwaveSays Yep, exactly. I could never get into the new games that looked and played worse than NES and SNES games. As I said in an earlier post, I'm still not crazy about most 3D games, but at least they look and play better than they used to. There was just nothing about N64 games that made me think "this is an improvement".

Krambo42 commented on Interview: Yacht Club Games Talk Drawing in 8-...:

@Haiassai Let me put it this way...the only games from that era that I like are Ocarina of Time and Shadows of the Emipre (though I do love both, and they are both in my top 10). I don't know...when the N64 came out, I just wasn't into it at all. Everybody was so impressed by the fact that everything was in 3D, but I just hated the look of the games (people now say the games haven't aged well...I say they never looked good)...and I hated the gameplay even more. I never liked how Mario went from perfect platforming to a boring collectathon. Banjo Kazooie is more of the same. I never thought that Mario Kart 64 or Star Fox 64 were as much fun as the SNES games. Kirby 64 and Donkey Kong 64 were both super boring. I've never liked FPSes so neither GoldenEye nor Perfect Dark did anything for me. I could go on. I did have some fun with a few multiplayer games (the WWF/WCW games, the All Star Baseball games, NFL Blitz, etc.), but more because they were multiplayer games than games that I actually loved. I just never thought that the games looked or felt as good as NES or SNES games. Ocarina of Time is SO good, though, that I can't deny its greatness...and the Star Wars fan in me just can't get enough of Shadows of the Empire. Most fun I've ever had with a Star Wars game (even more so than the Super Star Wars games, which I love). Other than those, two, though...bah.

My favorite games are still 2D platformers. My favorite Wii games were NSMBWii, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Donkey Kong Country Returns and Wario Land: Shake It. My favorite Wii U games are Shovel Knight, Tropical Freeze and NSMBU (along with Mario Kart 8). I just think that 2D games are more fun. But man, N64 games were ugly, had horrible cameras, were boring and had bad controls to boot.

Ugh, I'm just not a fan. I'd absolutely hate to see Shovel Knight turned into an ugly collectathon or something like that. Give me Mega Man/Castlevania-style gameplay over that any day.
