Well Nintendo pretty much spoiled "Marth's" identity over and over anyway. Even the official Japanese site no longer hides Lucina's wallpaper with a spoiler thumbnail. Perhaps for non-Fire Emblem fans who own Wii U, they could leave Marth on the Wii U version since he first appeared on a home console game and then have Lucina appear on the 3DS version. Though personally, I'd like to see how pretty she looks on the Wii U (once they've given the game a huge boost in visuals that is; I have a feeling, or at least I'm hoping, they're just working on the system for now and most of the current models are just placeholders).
Or maybe they can pull a Wario and have Lucina appear as a "costume change" for Marth?
@Yorumi Well then, what Nintendo would have to do is make a brand new Animal Crossing with a new structure as to make free-to-play feasible for them and attractive to gamers. Using an established game for comparison to free-to-play may be the only thing we have now, but we can't rule out the possibility of Nintendo doing something new with free-to-play and Animal Crossing.
Free-to-Play Animal Crossing could actually work pretty well if done correctly. Free-to-play doesn't automatically mean lower quality or a large amount of missing content. It can be done and be attractive to gamers if the developers take into consideration what players want for the base game and what they would be willing to pay for and for what price.
Looks like he was right, Wii U was pretty risky to be exclusive on as a third party. Which is now making me wonder what is going through Square Enix's mind when announcing XBone versions of Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts 3.
They could make a Wii U and 3DS version. I'd love for them to make a Wii U version and put most of the Wii U's power toward WATER AND EXPLOSIONS. ESPECIALLY WATER.
In other words, they won't develop on Wii U even though it's likely sales for the game on XBone will be much less than it would be on Wii U due to a far more limited install base for the series on a Microsoft console when compared to Sony and Nintendo.
Whelp, they gotta start somewhere. Monster Hunter made the jump to Nintendo and did fairly well in the west when compared to past titles. I think it did decently well in Japan when compared to the other home console games and not the portable one. But if this does indeed fail on the XBone, I wonder how they can recoup the losses they make for developing an uncertain version.
And finally, if they keep spouting on and on about developing on Direct X 11 and decide NOT to make a PC version, then I'll find it hard to trust anything Square Enix has to say about Wii U or any other platform from then on.
@HeatBombastic Compare it to Wind Waker and Jet Set Radio. The shading here is more akin to Brawl; the characters just have a black outline around them, which is why people automatically assume it's cel shaded.
@Rhinne
How is it greedy when they're just releasing new games that can be used with the streetpass function? They didn't have to release anymore games at all.
EDIT: Also, they NEVER SOLD MII PLAZA TO YOU BEFORE. Nintendo is NOT selling you a piece of a game and then making you pay for the rest. This was and still is a free built in app with some free activities. Now they're just giving you the choice to buy more activities if you want and if you like the app enough. They're not forcing you to get any of this for the "complete" experience. All this new content was made LONG after 3DS released. They're not going back on any of their policies.
And I should read all the comments before commenting; I'd also like for you to elaborate on how Nintendo's been going back on their word about DLC. I don't know about their other games, but I have Fire Emblem Awakening and have bought the DLC. I can say without error that the DLC in no way limits the main game at all. You get the full package when you compare it to other FE games and the DLC merely acts as fan-service, bonus challenges, and side stories that have very little to do with the main game's story.
Getting Wonderful 101, Wind Waker HD since I never beat the GCN original, and Super Mario 3D World. Hopefully those can tide me over til Mario Kart 8, Smash Bros, X, and Bayonetta hit next year.
@KITG_GROUP You can not use any PS3 traditional controllers with the PS4. PS4 will not be compatible with any PS3 accessories other than the Move. Though actually, I'm not sure if PS3 drive wheels, flight sticks, and dance pads will work with PS4.
If anything needs a price drop, it's the Vita and it's insanely overpriced memory cards. If not a price drop, then at least bundle the 4 GB or 8 GB card with every Vita from now on and have a special $250 bundle during the holidays with a 32 GB memory card (also with more colors available, Vita isn't very attractive in black). Vita may as well be PSP Go 2 if Sony doesn't take the necessary steps to make it a more attractive buy. When a westerner can buy a PS3 at the same price as the Vita and have tons of memory without having to pay $100 extra, what does Sony think they would buy? Not even more games will save it (since plenty of nice exclusives already hit the system and barely helped in the long run).
As for Wii U, THAT console can wait to be judged once more games hit it. If sales don't rise once Mario Kart 8 hits (the usual high-selling series), THEN we can talk about a price drop.
After playing this again, I discovered that by dashing and then attacking, the camera would snap to the opponent and the temporary lock-on would re-engage. So jumping isn't the only way! Upon discovering this, the game became much funner and playable. An always on lock on might've been easier to use, especially for the modern (slow) western gamer, but I'm guessing the system was designed to encourage dashing; maybe as a way to make the game more intense and fast-pace. Maybe if it was explained properly... Anyway, I up my personal score for this game to a 7/10. If only there was download play...
@Dhampir-Killer
Those are just rumors. It's already been said that Bamco characters have no priority whatsoever. Sakurai also said that he wants to keep 3rd party characters to the bare minimum. Personally I want them to limit the number to just Megaman, Snake, and Sonic since they're pretty much three of the most iconic non-Nintendo characters in gaming history. Though a 4th would probably be fine; most likely Pac-man to represent Bamco since he's also very iconic (though personally I'd hate to see Pac-man in a fighting game).
Fire Emblem isn't a failure anymore, so can we please have Heroes of Light and Shadow for DS? That game is freaking region-locked on DSi and 3DS and I don't have an original DS or Lite to play it on.
@Yasume Though actually I can see how you can think that it looks like Brawl. I believe the game only started development probably early last year or around the middle. So far it seems like they just imported assets from Brawl for the 3DS and Wii U versions to use as a base. It's still early, so the Wii U version may very well look far better than what we see now once it's closer to release. The 3DS version on the other hand looks ready from a visual standpoint in my opinion, but perhaps they'll try squeezing out just a bit more between now and release. It's surprising that they already have something to show for this game.
But yeah, game looks great so far! 3DS version does look like it's much further along than the Wii U version. It actually looks like the 3DS uses Brawl's assets with some improvements and with an SSF4-style black outline. The Wii U version still looks pretty early, so I can see the game looking MUCH better once it's closer to launch.
@retro_player_22
I'd rather them just stick with Megaman, Sonic, and Snake. It's a Nintendo fighter, not a 3rd party mash up like Playstation All-Stars.
Most likely 3DS and smartphones will be able to upload photos from their galleries. I'm wondering if they'll allow for NFC so you can transfer your photos from your phone to the Wii U so you can see how the photo looks on a big screen before uploading it. I'll finally be able to make use of my Galaxy Nexus' NFC capabilities if they do...
Ace Combat Assault Horizon Legacy is actually one of my favorites, though Bamco could've put more time and added online play and free flight to extend the game's life and given it much more value. Wish that they had patched in Japan's CPP support as well.Ended up buying it for $20, which is pretty fair for what the game contains.
While I think he probably shouldn't have let go of his anger like that on the Internet (and I'm not sure why I think that, probably some Internet courtesy BS that I learned in grade school and had stuck in my head), I think he had every right and reason to get as mad as he did. I haven't played any of the CC Heroes games, but I want to get this. Lack of DSiWare memory is a huge reason why I don't want to buy too many DSiWare now.
@X-Factor It has in Japan. The price cut and the release of a couple big name games boosted sales for a couple weeks in Japan...before dropping back down to the usual low 10k-ish sales per week.

And for many people, they would already have a PS3 for Blu ray and HD Internet video services or a 360 also for HD Internet video services. There are not enough reasons for there to be over 80 million sales of either the PS4 or XBone in 7-8 years.
