kokirii commented on Nintendo Confirms The Mario Kart 8 Premium Pac...:

"Nintendo of America is yet to announced"

should be "...has yet to announce" (I'm sure about removing the 'd.' Using 'has' as the helping verb also seems correct to me but maybe that is different in UK English.)

kokirii commented on Review: Yoshi's New Island (3DS):

"Ok guys, we need some 'new' ideas for Yoshi."

"Well, we had Mario get really big and plow through the level destroying everything in his path. Why don't we just do the exact same thing with Yoshi's egg?"

kokirii commented on Talking Point: Super Metroid's 20th Anniversar...:

Just finished downloading Super Metroid on Wii U VC for my first ever playthrough!

As for the Prime trilogy, any hope in that appearing in an HD remake? Should I just get the Wii version that sells for so much on eBay?

kokirii commented on Soapbox: Ignoring The Objectification Of Women...:

No point in getting into arguments with people whose minds are made up. Just wanted to say that as a man with an infant daughter hoping against hope that something about our culture's hunger to objectify people and hyper-sexualize everything changes before she becomes a teenager, I appreciate this Soapbox, Damien.

kokirii commented on Soapbox: Even With The Arrival Of PS4 And Xbox...:

@irken004 I am just looking at it from a different angle. You're billing the small internal storage as a failure of Nintendo to be with "the times" (as defined by you) rather than realizing that it's a conscious choice that allows people the choice to add more storage if they WANT (and still keeping the total price point below the other consoles) while keeping the price down to allow entry for more people/families who don't need more than 32 GB of space, which is the case for many people who don't want/can't afford to pay the extra money for 500 GB up front.

kokirii commented on Review: Bravely Default (3DS):

@Bliquid So I'm against the sexual objectification of women in video games, especially characters that look awfully young, and I'M the bigot? Can't say I follow you.

@Kmno Why would I be disappointed that she's not a fairy? I haven't played the game so I don't know who she is.

kokirii commented on Review: Bravely Default (3DS):

Thanks. And you're right about teens, unfortunately. As for the game, it does look quite good. Can you comment as to whether the sexualization is just in the cover art/advertisement or is that how the art is done throughout the game?

kokirii commented on Here Are Some Attractive Black Friday Nintendo...:

"Nintendo? Nothing. Then they wonder why they get their yearly Wii U consoles outsold in 1 day by PS4 and XBOX1."

In other news, that didn't actually happen.

And Nintendo doesn't hawk their games like cheap knick-knacks because their games aren't cheap knick-knacks.

kokirii commented on Review: Bravely Default (3DS):

Why does everything have to be sexualized? Can we just have a fairy that looks like a fairy and isn't sitting in an alluring position with a dress so short it barely covers her junk?

kokirii commented on Review: EDGE (Wii U eShop):

@Maneauleau thanks! It's only $1.99 USD for me which is technically a bit less than 2 euros! I normally try not to buy multiple games at once but since this is only 2 bucks I think I can manage to get it along with Mario 3D World tomorrow :)

kokirii commented on Review: Mario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympi...:

Sounds like it might be worth renting first. Never played the others and my wife and I are looking for fun co-op games. I wonder if this game would score higher for people who have never played the others?

Oh well, at least 3DWorld isn't far off!

kokirii commented on Nintendo Comes Up Empty at the Golden Joystick...:

The gaming world wants grotesque violence and softcore (for now...?) porn. I was hoping this industry could hold out a bit longer than every other form of entertainment in our culture so that my children could have an experience similar to the one I had growing up, but alas. Stand strong, Nintendo.
