Best Kirby game is Kirby Super Star for sure but I do have a nostalgia feel for K64. I hate how sluggish Kirby is in this game. It plays so damn slow. Power combining is a neat gimmick but it still doesn't compare to depth introduced in Kirby games where powers have neat movesets. You can just do way more with movesets. Still K64 had a nice soundtrack and I feel like it's probably a lot of people's first Kirby game.

I'm disappointed with these prizes as well. Two years ago I got a gorgeous Mario pin set with different images on the side of the boxes and it felt sentimental. I don't even mind digital downloads if there was going to be a nice big selection but this is definitely underwhelming.
Also all the comments about how Nintendo DOESN'T have to do this is kind of bullpoopeypoopiepoodlepoo. ALL companies offer return programs or point programs. WHY? Because it makes them A LOT MORE MONEY. Believe it not people spend more when they think the value and deal is greater. I worked booking hotels and they would cater so much to returning members as part of the program because of HOW much money it makes them. Many companies now have loyalty programs. Not because they entirely give a damn from the bottom of their hearts but because such programs actually benefit them financially. If you think you could save some money later you're more likely to be coaxed to spend more money now. Even if you're on the fence financially about spending your dough, this could be the aspect that convinces you to do so because of the incentive (where you might no otherwise). Also the fact that certain companies will PAY you to do surveys, some folks make a partial living out of that. It's still your time, and effort, and your cash they're interested in. It's at least worth a NICER selection of games. I hate to seem ungrateful and I'm fine with Nintendo trying to save money and offer digital downloads but the selection could have at least been nicer. Especially if your platinum.

@MorriganIsHot I really loved that power too It had a cool moveset. Well Bell Power looks awesome to use.

Also I wish they included power challenge levels like they did in Return to Dreamland. I really liked trying to score platinum in those. I would have liked to see challenge levels like that for these new powers.

@KeithTheGeek Oh god, that gamecube trailer from years ago is still the stuff of my dreams. Especially as such a big KSS fan, it was basically 3D KSS with what looked like amazing bosses, and 4 player co-op. I mean I can't complain that now it's got MK and Dedede in there as playable characters, but I do miss that idea.

Ah yes, I'm familiar with all of these. I think people need to keep in mind that HAL Labs is a second party company with quite a bit on their hands. They've had to take over the steering wheel after Sakurai (in regardes to Kirby games) and have recently had to also go forth without the help of other such companies like Flagship. Translating Kirby into 3D platforming was posing a challenge for them and if played as awkwardly as can be assumed, than we know why it had to be canned for quality. I so desperately want them to revisit the idea though. They certainly aren't afraid to experiment with Kirby that's for sure. As much slack as this franchise gets for playing "all the same", Kirby games have had some of the most unique gameplay that have taken the most advantage of their respected hardware. Even these cancelled titles indicate that as well. Tilt and Tumble, Canvas Curse, Mass Attack, Triple Deluxe, Air Ride, Kirby Super Star, K64, Kirby's Dreamland 3, Amazing Mirror, all play so differently. About the only game I can say is truly a rehash may be Squeak Squad which brought ZERO new elements to the platforming series of Kirby games. Still was fun though. I dream of a day that HAL will be able to translate Kirby and his amazing powers and movesets into 3D platforming!! Who knows what they're working on next. Regardless I can count on it being a wonderfully charming, beautiful looking/sounding, and enjoyable experience!

Kirby_Girl commented on Nintendo Provides Some Context to 2013's Tomod...:

That's too bad, I guess I won't be buying. I think it's annoying how some people are saying "WHATS THE BIG DEAL?" Um hello, it's a game driven by character interactions. It's a SIMS. People are suppose to be able to insert themselves in it or create whatever life they want. It's a pretty big deal to not include more inclusive options. It's a pretty bad design decision. SIMS should be as open as possible so people can mess with all sorts of options. Create the stories THEY want to. It's an utter shame. I'm sorry I'm just going to skip out because that's just ridiculous. It's absolutely exclusionary to a portion of the population in terms of options, plus it's just a bad choice.

The Smash Run mode has me sold. If you've never played Air Ride City Trial mode with some friends than you don't know joy! I'm was so excited when Sakurai announced he would be applying the idea here! Also I was surprised that Kirby's Final Smash was Ultra Sword! It's cool, I just thought maybe they'd doing Hyper Nova Kirby since Triple Deluxe is coming out soon. Either way COOL!

Cute. I want Beyonce though! Haha, Although I feel like people can just make their Miis look like whatever celebrity or character they want. I mean people already do it in the Sims where they make their favorite anime characters live together, lol. I think this game has broad appeal so I see what Nintendo is doing here. It's a smart decision and has the makings of capturing the Animal Crossing fans and general casuals. It looks like a wacky and cute game. I'm sure this will be successful for them if they do keep marketing it. Get greater appeal.

Wow so much work put into this! Coding seems like a nightmare. I've never played a modded Brawl game but the changes are interested to see. I liked all the smash games growing up but I happened to like Brawl more than Melee because Kirby felt so nerfed in Melee. I mean if I can't even play as my own favorite character and have a good fighting chance than that sucks. Rather at least play Kirby in Brawl. I don't want to choose Fox when I don't want to. However this mode makes him even more formidable in Brawl where he was better but still missing something.

Haha, I like Amazing Mirror. I love games I can get totally lost in and explore. I actually really enjoyed Great Cave Offensive and Sub Space Emissary, too. My favorite Kirby game is Super Star but this was a nice break that still felt connected. I actually didn't even realize there was a map for this game until I fiddled with it later on. Of course by then I just needed about 2 more pieces for the mirror. The Final Boss is a fun fight too.
